Ooh. I missed this. "When I've Been Drinkin'" is finished. It's down almost 400k in audience today. It reached a peak of #38 on MB a couple weeks back. I need help from jhomes87 if this could go recurrent on Billboard tonight? I doubt it, but you never know. Next week for sure though.

It's a shame if it does go recurrent. This is easily his best single IMO and sounds very different from anything else on radio. Sales were decent for this too all things considering.

Making the crazy assumption that BB plays by its own rules, no, this song can't go recurrent tonight. It's finishing its 20th chart week, but the same rule applies to a 20-week song as applies to a 10-week song: it can't go recurrent until it has 3 bulletless weeks in a row, and it did have a bullet last week. Now if it were finishing its 21st chart week, it could leave based on just one bulletless week (with BB having the option). Sorry, I'm not JHomes, I'm just sneaking in here.

I was on mobile and I did not have access to the Billboard Charts. :) Now that I'm on my trusty PC, I see that Jon increased 70k in audience and retained his bullet last week after 19 weeks. So "When I've Been Drinkin'" should have its final Billboard chart week this week.

I'm kinda impressed that this made the Top 40 after his last single failed to do much better. If he were a female artist, this song probably would've peaked at like #57 or something.

Is this the last you think we will see of Jon Pardi? Lead single would have to be stellar to break him out.

The big reason that this plummeted today is because it lost countdown spins. It fell to #41 on MB last weekend and with a bunch of songs so close behind it, it winds up losing a bunch of chart positions as well as its bullet. I do agree that it's probably done, but I'll need to see another 2-3 negative updates to be sure.

How's three consecutive negative updates?
"When I've Been Drinkin'" only lost about 70k today in audience but its now at 600k lost since Sunday evening, along with losing 78 spins. What's unfortunate is that three stations added this one this week, but a day late and a dollar short as they say.
This will definitely not be going any higher but I'm interested to see if Capitol (with the slight loss today) actually attempts to revive this tomorrow. If it's another negative update then it's over. Jon's song has slipped all the way to #47 on the rolling chart but with three recurrents this Sunday (Eric, Carrie and RaeLynn), he's at #44 if the chart week ended today.

I do think this one's done. I can't say I'm surprised, but it's a bit unfortunate given how much better this is selling than most of the other songs with similar levels of airplay. For example, Jon's been consistently out-selling The Swon Brothers, Reba, Frankie Ballard, Dustin Lynch, Justin Moore, Rascal Flatts, as well as higher-charting singles from Gloriana, Joe Nichols, and Toby Keith. He's also out-selling Maddie & Tae's "Fly", although I expect that one's sales to start really picking up soon (since it's really only just starting to get airplay).
So I expect "When I've Been Drinkin'" to go recurrent on Monday's Billboard chart, and I'm sure that that's the end of the album cycle for Jon. This was the only single of his that I didn't like. "Missin' You Crazy" was by far my favorite, but in hindsight I don't think it was the best choice to lead off the album with. "Up All Night" wound up being the biggest hit (and it went Gold too), so it might have been the best option to lead off with. They had some other choices too. I would've loved to hear "Love You From Here" on the radio, and I think both "Write You A Song" and "That Man" could have been hits if released under the right circumstances (probably following "Up All Night" since, again, it was the biggest hit from the album).
Jon and Brandy Clark are currently opening for Alan Jackson on tour, and it really seems to me that Jon has a pretty big fan-base, perhaps rivaling that of someone like Frankie Ballard or Dustin Lynch. So I do think that, with the right song (probably as the lead single to his next album), Jon could really break-out at radio, but only time will tell.
