Oof, yeah, I see that. He comes across as some random guy who just got plucked out of the audience, and barely knows the song. I finally had a chance to see Sara live in the last year, in a nice acoustic format. I wasn't sure what to expect as some of her tv performances had a few off notes (IMO), but live she was extremely impressive vocally. And surprisingly funny. My one complaint was her clothes

My one complaint was her clothes Yeah, her live performances on tv are spotty at times, but she's fantastic at her own shows. I've seen her twice now, once in 2008 and then again this August and this past time I saw her, I definitely feel like she was even better than I remember her from the first concert. She was really going for the glory notes and the audience was just electric for her. And you're right, her sense of humor is definitely a highlight as well, lol. I do think she dresses very cute though.

Yes, and yes. It was a multi-artist format for a fundraiser. The other acts were all good and well-received, but there was a major up in star power wattage when Sara came out. Not necessarily in her first song, but just building and building as she blasted through one song to another. BIG audience response when she was done.
That particular she had jeans and a blousy top that wasn't the most flattering from some angles. Maybe she went more for comfort as it was an acoustic show and she wasn't doing a full set? Usually she looks very good when I've seen her on tv or videos.

I love her clothes! She has a style of her own IMO. However back to the song, I'm ready for a new single. PMHD has done hardly anything. Next single should be either "You Never Know" "Better Off" or "If I Run" any of those are great choices!

I had a chance to see her more recently at a different event than the one where I was carping on her outfit ha. At the recent one, she looked great stunning.
Aggravating that this song can't even get to top 50

"You Never Know" was what I wanted as the second single all along, but at this point, I don't think anything would've outperformed "Put My Heart Down", unfortunately. It's so disappointing that it will (most likely) end up with a #57 peak. I'd be pretty surprised if there were to be another single from the album. Despite there being a few radio friendly options for singles, I think that her best bet is to release a new lead single early next year, and hopefully it will give her enough momentum to make a dent at radio. I doubt anything from an album that has already come and gone will be supported by radio.

I agree, but I doubt she's even started making a new album and probably won't have anything ready until 2016, which really puts her at a disadvantage. Her label really screwed this era over so bad, which is a shame because there's so many songs that could've been hits on this album. But she spent a long time making this record and now it's gone to waste and she's basically left with nothing to release now.

But she spent a long time making this record and now it's gone to waste and she's basically left with nothing to release now. I totally agree. Her label's handling of this album is probably the poorest that I can remember in all of the years that I've followed country music. I just don't get it. She must not be too concerned though, since she re-signed with them earlier this year. I agree that she probably doesn't have much ready, but even if she can get one song out, I think it would be to her advantage to do so. Chances are, it won't climb the charts very fast, so if she can find a good song to cut and put out, she would still have about a year from now to complete an album (assuming a single comes out in Jan., and takes 35 weeks or so to peak). That's assuming it eventually connects, which I do still think is possible with the right song.

This era started off so promising. Radio seemed to demand the first single, and it ended up struggling. RCA has pretty much ruined it from there. Maybe she enjoys the security of a major label, but I'd love to see Sara at a different label where she could be a priority.

I remember the lead single really struggling and almost not even making the top 20.

It pulled in more adds in its first week than any Sara Evans song ever had and there was a lot of initial hype around "Slow Me Down" that just dissipated quick.

I guess I didn't see much hype but then again, since I'm not a huge Sara fan anymore, it makes sense I wouldn't see some of it.

I'd like to see them put out an up-tempo song, I've liked her past few singles but they haven't really stood out from each other.

While I still don't care for the song, I just saw the music video and I thought it was very good. Cool visuals and Sara looks stunning, as she does in a lot of her videos.

When watching that video, is anyone else reminded of the couch scenes in the Born To Fly video, also directed by Peter Zavadil?

Video is great unfortunetely I don't think it'll help the song out much. By the way, does anybody know what position its at right now? Is it gaining or losing spins? I'm sooooo disapointed.

It got bumped off the chart this week, but it's basically right on the cusp of the Top 60, so it should be able to re-enter. Not sure how much higher it's going to get though and this tune might wind up a casualty of the Christmas freeze. Really a shame this is floundering so poorly. I know the wait between SMD peaking and this being released (and all the mess over the summer w/ pushing back/changing the second single) wasn't ideal, but this shouldn't be struggling *that* badly. It should've at least made it into the Top 40, imo. Yes. Believe me, I would have said no right away if it wasn't Peter. :) I do believe I posted that this was directed by Peter Zavadil back when they shot the music video last month.

I'm beginning to think that "Slow Me Down" might be Sarah's last top 30 hit. Even "Slow Me Down" was, well slow, for a lead single. She's already a veteran in the business, and we are seeing how more popular veterans from the same era are doing (Toby and Montgomery Gentry). Sarah does benefit from being on a better label than those two, but I think she will be fighting an uphill battle. I viewed "Slow Me Down" and "Wake Up Lovin' You" as the last hoorah for both artists. I think her time at radio has just already peaked. I do think she'll be able to get a song or two into the Top 40 in the future, but that's all I'm expecting.

You guys are missing my point. Everybody knows Peter directed the video. All I'm saying is that the couch scenes in the PMHD video remind me of Sara on the couch in the BTF video, and I was just bringing focus that they were both directed by Peter for those that might not know.

It looks like this one is done. It was at nearly 700k in audience two Mondays ago, and the #60 song on tonight's Billboard chart has only 463k and yet Sara is nowhere to be found.

Sad to see Sara is not doing well with her singles anymore. Hope that RCA still keeps her and decides to release another single sometime in 2015.
