- Interesting irony about my tribute to domestic abuse victims; the fact that Rihanna has one of the optional extras (thank goodness it's not Chris Brown). Adam Schefter also pointed this out that Rihanna will be singing the theme song for CBS and NFL Network's new "Thursday Night Football" package whose opening game Tomorrow features the Pittsburgh Steelers visiting the Baltimore Ravens, which recently cut Ray Rice after the infamous video was released to the public earlier this week. And Tomorrow is the 13th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.

- At least it's good to see GRL crack the Top 40 in the wake of the tragic suicide of Simone Battle at age 25

Kind of interesting to see "Ugly Heart", here. Unless it regains a bullet or gets some other sort of boost, it could, very well, become the first song to ever hit the Seacrest-era top 40 without ever making the Mediabase top 40. To date, it's Mediabase peak is #42. This feat gets even more impressive when you consider the fact that AT40 has no recurrent rule. If recurrents were left in place on the Mediabase chart, the "actual" peak position of "Ugly Heart" would be in the 80s.

For Sia, either "Wild Ones" or "Titanium" would have worked, but maybe those have been used recently? (I haven't kept track.)

Wild Ones was a recent optional extra IIRC.

As an update, the Rihanna intro for Tonight's game was cancelled for obvious reasons but she'll be back next Thursday night.

Ryan noted that "Shake It Off" was the second biggest mover of 2014. The biggest was "Team" back in January.

Of course, the jump for "Team" had the benefit of following a two week holiday break, so it, kind of, shouldn't count. Ryan also mentioned that "Shake It Off" ties the 19 notch jump that "Bang Bang" made a few weeks ago.

At the beginning of the show, Ryan paid tribute to Simone Battle. I think
they put the song on the chart because of her. Not only GRL, but we also got
"Girls" and "Girls Chase Boys". Iggy got 3 spins in the third hour.
"We Are Done" lives up to its name. I don't know why the OneRepublic song
didn't do better, esp. after Counting Stars was so massive.
We've had Mr. Big, Mr. Mister, Mr. President, and now, Mr. Probz.

Ryan interviewed Usher. Earlier he said that This Is How We Roll was not to be confused with
This Is How We Do. Do you think they read our posts?

On American Top 40: The 70's this weekend, 1976 was featured and they played a different Summer (by War).
