Lol at them going to play the guessing game again like they did with this song (and this late in its run). I guess if it turns out as well as Talking Body did, they can take all the time they need to research.

That station (99.7 Now in San Fran) did a radio show with Tove this past week, so that probably has something to do with it.

I think it has peaked :( But, we should be grateful it got this far! Remember when it was mid 20s and began decreasing. Nm I read that completely wrong, keep going QUEEN OF THE CLOUDS!

I'm guessing it gained today because KIIS added it last week?

I'm just confused as to why radio is stopping when it was gaining SO hard last week. Is it cuz it's eligible for recurrents soon?

There have been many cases when a song started getting bad updates once it hit the top 5 and then all of a sudden started surging again so I'm not worried yet. I'll settle for a #2 peak since Bad Blood has already passed it.

I wasn't expecting anywhere NEAR Top 10 for a Tove Lo second single, though. This song did great. Especially considering it's pretty explicit and ONLY smashing based on it being a good song.
I don't know what they'll do next. I looove Timebomb, but it'll either smash or flop and the latter is easier to foresee. On the other hand, Not On Drugs might be overdue. I could see it pulling a Tennis Court. At the same time, everyone loved Habits so I guess it could happen, who knows.

And they did not use payola for this, correct? I've seen this word being used a lot (especially in relation to country radio), can someone explain it please?

I hate "Not on Drugs". I much prefer "Timebomb" or "My Gun".

And they did not use payola for this, correct? I was moderately suspicious of its monstrous rise (and now, sudden fall), but I really think the timing just worked out at the exact time others songs were falling that this filled a vacuum. It's also a perfect transition song on radio, and can take a ballad to an uptempo or vice versa, which helps some, on top of it being memorable and catchy as hell.

It's an illegal practice where record labels pay the radio stations to play a song. Despite it being illegal, many still think it happens. There appears to be loopholes in the system that can make it legal (i.e. Clear Channel deals).

I doubt any rule against it is very enforced..

For the record, I still think payola occurs. My post was strictly informative.

Payola is usually just thinly-veiled anymore. On the Verge songs are very hinky deals a lot of the time, as are hourly play deals for new songs. Stations can often be "persuaded" to play songs by having artists perform at their summer concerts/jingle balls, etc (even though that's more mutually beneficial for both parties).
The game is the same, but it's not just straight-up cash on the table anymore.
I don't think that happened in this case, because they haven't really been pushing Tove as an artist, and this was doing well enough on its own. She didn't NEED Top 5, and probably would have had Top 10 in the bag anyway.

Although this song didn't, "Habits (Stay High)" got an OTV deal for CHR (this was about 2 months after it had peaked on Alt though). Sucks that this is starting to go down, I hope it goes back up again.

I guess I'll make my last post. Ever since I first heard this song in October, I've been addicted to it. After all this time I still haven't gotten over it, which is pretty weird. From the holy cowbell to the melancholy verses to the orgasmic chorus this song is a true masterpiece. And altho im pressed pop radio dropped it prematurely after it came all this way, I'm glad so many people's earholes were blessed with this sexual hymn and I hope the queen of the clouds continues to get more hits! (Hopefully another top ten to avenge tb!)
