Iggy Azalea had the biggest hit of the summer with "Fancy" and was on the second biggest hit of the summer "Problem" with Ariana Grande. now she's doing well with her second single "black Widow" and will probably be on a bunch of features for the next year but will she keep having success? she's gotten a lot of flack for for appropriating a culture that isn't hers with her music, and she doesn't seem to be "real", plus her style in general doesn't seem to have the versatility that other female rappers like Missy Elliott and Nicki Minaj has. is Iggy just a flash in the plan and a one album wonder or can she go on and expand her career beyond this one album and prove the h8ers wrong?, what do you think about this?

I think by the time she puts out her new album everyone will have forgotten about her

If she completely cashes out the minuscule hip hop credibility she currently has and becomes a Flo Rida/Pitbull (releasing factory pop songs) then I could maybe see her sustaining success for a few more years but I don't think she will by sustaining a career by just releasing pop-influenced rap like she has been.

No, I think she'll have one more year of relevance and that's it. I think she's a flash-in-the pan artist. Right now, Iggy Azalea is nothing more than a fad, not really a music superstar that will sustain a long-term relevance. If anything, she might continue to be a big hit with just rap fans, but I doubt it, and if she does, it won't be for very long. Also, is possible the fact that she's a white female rapper might be working against her in the long haul. Also, her music on the most part is very forgettable and unmemorable, she'll simply be remembered for "Fancy" years from now.

I think she knows that she has to bring it to sustain a career. She has a relrelease in the works with 6 new songs including a new feature from Charli XCX and one from Ellie Goulding. She's a smart girl and will likely set herself up well for the long haul.

This is along my thoughts, or at least one of the options. Once her freshness ends, she'll need some kind of clearer plan going forward. Her breakthrough came with a pop hit, so it'll be hard for her to make a lasting name as a rapper, especially on Urban radio where most rap acts get their hits, but stranger things have happened. Her personality isn't as blank as Flo Rida or Pitbull so she has more to work with. I do think she'll maintain a celebrity in one form or another, at least for a few years. She can definitely join her friend Rita in being someone who initially found fame as a recording artist, but developed their celebrity further through other venues. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

No. She is a novelty enjoy the ride. It takes talent to sustain a career unless your name is Katy Perry.

She has a lot of things working against her. I can see her getting a couple of more hits from her re-release and possibly new album. After that I really don't know. It wouldn't be weird to assume she won't sustain success but stranger things have happened.

Honestly, I'd be shocked if Iggy didn't stay relevant. She may not stay on top like this, but she's not going away, either.

It kind of depends on how similar artists like Nicki minaj or Becky G do.

It kind of depends on how similar artists like Nicki minaj or Becky G do. Really? Nicki & Iggy are on a totally different level than Ms. Gomez.
