My best guess is there's too many "new" male artist on Sony's labels all trying to climb at the same time and they want to try salvaging one of the ones already out to radio. They have Steven Lee Olsen's "Raised By A Good Time" Logan Mize's "Can't Get Away From a Good Time" Josh Dorr's "Save Your Breath" Chase Rice's "Gonna Wanna Tonight" The Swon Brothers' "Pray For You" add Casey to the list and thats way too many for radio to decide between even though they're technically on separate labels. I wouldn't be surprised to see Sony see which of the first 5 stick over the next month then try to push Casey. Add the other labels competition and there's just a ton of new guys vying for radio's attention. Michael Ray's "Kiss You In The Morning" Jackie Lee's "She Does" David Fanning's "Doin' Country Right" Mo Pitney's "Country" Dylan Scott's "Lay It On Me" Craig Wayne Boyd's "My Baby's Got A Smile On Her Face" Austin Webb's "All Country On You" I think them pushing it back a month will let some of these flop out of the way and he'll have a clearer path. Of course there's the chance that other males sitting on labels will announce singles soon but Casey will be the first in the timeframe to be announced which probably has a minor advantage. (Possible threats if they announce: Ryan Kinder, Charlie Worsham, Dean Alexander, Joey Hyde, Levi Hummon, Drake White, Seth Alley, John King, Chase Bryant, Jordan Ranger, James Wesley) My Point is there's a ton of competition and I'm not even counting big name artists or any females (mostly cause I doubt any are real threats unfortunately). I think this is a smart move and while I've been waiting for a while for this to be sent out I'd rather it go once there's a clearing and it can get a ton of attention. P.S. I realize I rambled in this post but I have a head cold and my medicine is kicking in lol Thanks for all the insight! They have been sitting on this song saying it's coming out since July, so it's driving me crazy!!! Seems like a pattern with Sony and some of their artists...(Sara Evans)

Small difference between Sara and Casey is for him it's a lead single and there's no real momentum to kill. Sara on the other hand was a real messed up situation. :(
This again is potentially good news for Casey though. :)

It's not all that uncommon for adds dates to get pushed back a handful of weeks, especially when it comes to new artists. I think Casey is on another radio tour as well (which should be a good thing). Just recently we had Mo Pitney and Logan Mize have their adds dates pushed back a few weeks. It happened a handful of times last year as well -- the label is simply trying to position this one as best as it can, and moving the adds date back 5 weeks later likely won't have any effect in the long run (or, if it does, it'll likely be a good effect, ie more adds, less competition, etc). It's really all about positioning and this strikes me as a good move on Columbia's part...building up a little more hype for this one.
Also, it's not like the 23rd was ever really confirmed. There was that image for it, but by "confirmed" I mean 'by the likes of Aircheck, AllAccess, Billboard, etc.'

"Crying On a Suitcase" was a masterpiece. That should have been Casey James' first top ten.

AllAccess actually does have this listed as going for adds on 23 February (under "Future Releases"), but I agree with jhomes87 that the delay to 30 March is likely to better position the song for a better start.

Music Row has him listed under Colombia. AllAccess makes mistakes fairly often. For example, they still have Chris Stapleton's Traveller going for adds on May 5th. May 5 is a Tuesday, and that's the day that Chris' Traveller album gets released. There is a song on there called "Traveller" as well, but they would not send it for adds the same day that the album releases, nor would they plan an adds date that far out. Also, like I said, May 5 is a Tuesday...albums are released on Tuesdays (98% of the time anyway), and songs go for adds on Mondays (99% of the time). It looks to me like AllAccess just accidentally put Carrie Underwood's label listing (19 Recordings/Arista) as Casey's as well. Casey's should say 19 Recordings/Columbia Nashville.

I'm very confused... if this is the first single from his album... and it was released in September... why on earth is it just now going for adds? (I don't mean that as a negative toward the song, him, or the decision, I've just never seen such a gap like that before)

(I don't mean that as a negative toward the song, him, or the decision, I've just never seen such a gap like that before) It was released as an iTunes single back in the fall, as something to tide the fans over with. It was never released to radio until now (with the adds date still a month out yet). The label decided to take Casey on a radio tour this winter to showcase the new music for radio executives. Now that the songs from Casey's label-mates are all a little ways up the chart, the label will be able to turn some of their focus to "Fall Apart".

"Crying On a Suitcase" was a masterpiece. That song STILL gets stuck in my head often. One of my favorites from that year.

Edit: The original picture shot was taken down from twitter. Well that is weird. I see it has been taken down from twitter, but it is still on the Sony Nashville Facebook page. I hope the date is still on! And PLEASE let Casey be the lead role in the video!!!!! He did such a great job in the COAS video. I really don't want him to be just singing and some other guy being the main character. Fingers crossed!

I also noticed iHeart had this up right at midnite EST. He has visited a lot of their stations already in the beginning leg of his radio tour. I might pee my pants just a little if he gets OTV. I know the recent success of the program hasn't been a great as in the past, but I will take any extra promo this song can get! I am really happy Casey included his entire touring band in the video. I love the "it's going to be ok, man" handshake from the backseat Casey had with his long time bass player and band leader, Dino Villanueva!!! Dino really had Casey's back during some immature drama with previous band members. It was cool to see...

Personally, this sounds like it would be more at home on HAC stations than it would Country, but I digress. Not a bad song, but don't know if it's strong enough or upbeat enough for a still pretty new singer climbing the charts these days. I'll say this can peak somewhere in the 20's, with an outside chance of top 15, but that's the highest prediction I'm willing to afford.

Well, it's only one, but lookie who got a pre-impact add today!!! "Fall Apart" also has a number of starters that have popped up at All Access in the past couple of days. Can anyone tell me what station the add came from? It also shows a total of two so someone else already added it before today. I'd love to know which stations these are!~~

The "starters" list on AllAccess almost certainly contains the 2 stations that have officially reported this as an add. And since there are 6 stations starting to play this song (starters), we'll probably see a small handful of adds next week when the other 4 stations officially report this song as an add, and then of course the big number of adds (hopefully 35+) will come on March 30th.

This might have been a decent pop song in the 90's. hard to see this doing a whole lot on country now though.

I highly doubt this does much of anything. Casey has always been mediocre at best for me, in every sense of the word: vocally, songs, looks, personality; and this song only continues that trend for me. I tried for awhile to like it when it first came out like 8 months ago, but its just a dull, boring song and Casey's vocals don't do anything to spice it up. The combination of Casey's lackluster results with radio with his first album, the very few hits Sony has been able to get lately with any of their artists who aren't Kenny/Brad/Carrie/Miranda/Chris, plus the reorganization thats going on right now, I just don't see this doing much more than top 40, if that.

I think it's far from boring and dull. I pretty much like everything about this one. I think Casey's got a really good voice, and I think the melody is haunting yet beautiful. Lyrics and production are top-notch as well. The reorganization at Sony definitely won't do any of their new artists any favors, but from what I can tell Casey has been really impressing radio folks of late. I think if this song gets off the ground (and I think it has a good chance of doing quite well) then it won't really matter what's going on at Sony. And anyway, there probably won't be any major fall-out from Overton's departure until late summer or fall at the earliest.

I think this is decent enough. The ending is overblown and it does blur the HAC line (as mentioned up thread) but I like it.

I like Casey; have seen him in concert and have the first album, but I'm disappointed in this song. Although it has a pleasant sound there is just nothing special about the music or lyrics (seems like an average HAC ballad). In theme it seems too similar to COAS about pining over a possible/lost romance-seems like after the long hiatus he'd come back with something 'special'. Unless this song does really well, he may lose his contract/not release his album. I just thought he'd come out of the gate after his long hiatus with something stronger. Hopefully I am wrong and the sales are strong enough to match the push and sustain it.

I really like this song now. At first I was luke warm on it, but I'm growing to love it with every listen. The vocal arrangement is excellent in the chorus and I can't get second half of it out of my head,
"Photographs, memories Fade away easily But you're right here in front of me, And won't let me go Since you broke my heart Every time I run into you I fall apart"
The production is a little HAC'ish but it fits in well on country radio in 2015. Overall, this is my favorite release from Casey and I really liked "Crying On A Suitcase".
I can see this one being a top 10 hit actually. I won't go so far to predict it, but I think Columbia has done some great work reintroducing Casey to radio. The extended layoff (two years) and the fact this song is being released before the influx of summertime tunes makes me somewhat hesitant, but I do think this one has some potential to be a hit.

While I fully expect Jana to take the day with most adds plus her 20 early adds, I'm hoping Casey has a good showing. Nervous!!!!
