sabre14 I agree 100% on the adds and with everything you said. Since he has only had 2 adds in 4-5 weeks, this can't hang on any longer with out more of them. But he's got to hang onto his bullet first. I have a feeling something is going on promo-wise since KSCS in Dallas has played it 5 times already today. Just for comparison sake, they have only played the MB #1 song Smoke 3 times.

It's a shame this isn't doing better, but I guess I shouldn't be surprised given just how stagnant everything has been below the Top 40 for weeks. Just bad timing for a lot of newer artists, and I think Casey also went away from radio for a little too long, seeing as it's now been over two years since "Crying on a Suitcase" and his last single was DOA followed by him taking well over a year off from country radio.

You are 100% right about being gone so long. I think COAS went recurrent February of 2012. But, he's going to get his bullet back for now. I noticed at least one station that has ramped up on this song today. Bigtime. It's pretty fascinating. They've been spinning 2-3 times/day and are up to 8 spins already today all of a sudden. Someone is definitely working this song again. Based on the Billboard predictions of all the upcoming recurrents, I am hoping they are seeing a window of time where this song can move up a bit.

^Ok it was February 2013 and I will include Casey for the predictions. But don't expect him to move up a lot in Airplay wise this song is struggling.

I doubt he will go a lot over the 1.5mil AI on BB he had last week, but will get enough to get his bullet back. With the 3-5 recurrents jhomes87 predicted, I see this moving up one, maybe two spots with a teeny tiny bullet. I've been enjoying your posts on this thread as well as all over the board!!!

I do think he needs to find better music. The new Tyler Farr song is pretty much the exact same story as FA, but is miiiiiles better in terms of lyrics, musicality, production. Well, pretty much everything. Farr's new song is one of the better ones he's had, that's for sure, but otherwise I completely disagree here. I much, much prefer "Fall Apart" to any of Tyler's songs, except for maybe "Suffer In Peace", the brilliant title track to his new album. "Withdrawals" isn't bad but I think it's a bit awkwardly-written and I'm rather miffed at all the praise it's been getting here. It's not a bad song but I certainly don't think it's a great song, either. "Fall Apart" has certainly flown under the radar but I think it's an excellent track with great lyrics, great production, and superb vocals. It's one of my top 5-6 favorite songs right now, and it has been for weeks.

I am very confident at this point that this will rebullet. KKBQ and KSCS really stepped up for Casey the last couple of days, which is fantastic!
It is an ok song for me from my verrrry favorite new artist (yes, I know he's been around a while). I want nothing more than for Casey to break out big time. He definitely has the talent. I do really like this song, but he has a lot of much better material on his first album. I am just not sure this song really showcases how very talented I think he is. I'd like to see him take more of a risk on the next single if he gets one! This one is a bit safe to me.
Also, very happy to see others here get on board with this song!!!! :)

Casey's mom posted a very ominous tweet about him being rejected by his label. I hope this does not mean he's getting dropped. I wouldn't be totally surprised since he hasn't had any adds as of late and Sony leaves him out of all their promo. It this is the case, it's a real bummer because he could possibly sneak in on the MB chart this week.
Has anyone heard rumblings about this song getting pulled?
I'm worried for him!

I do think he's not long for that label because, well, there's gonna be a new head honcho soon (Jason Owen?) and that person will change a lot on that roster.

It's a bit alarming that Columbia is no longer featuring this song in their Aircheck ads. In the past few months the ad was always for "Wild Child", "A Guy Walks Into A Bar", "Gonna Wanna Tonight", AND "Fall Apart". Now the ad is only for "Wild Child", "Withdrawals", and "Gonna Wanna Tonight".
This song is too low in spins to crack the Mediabase top 50, but it's somewhat close to the Billboard top 50...it's #52 there, but if the label is planning on pulling this, then it unfortunately won't get much higher.
I'm really bummed. I hope it's not true, but I've got a bad feeling about it. Casey could always wind up with another good label, but that always takes time..

It's pretty iffy for Casey to wind up on another good label, though certainly possible. He's now had two tours through radio and usually label execs like to take chances on brand new artists. Casey's only had two top 20 hits (#21 on Billboard for "Let's Don't Call It A Night) and nothing more, and those were over two years ago, so if he will get dropped then that's super unfortunate since I personally wouldn't be overly optimistic about his future. I really think "Fall Apart" could be a big hit but the timing of this single release couldn't have been worse. The release schedule was bad enough but Gary Overton stepping down put many artist in limbo including Casey. I'm hoping this isn't true as well and that everything will turn out good for him since he has immense talent.

It this is the case, it's a real bummer because he could possibly sneak in on the MB chart this week. Has anyone heard rumblings about this song getting pulled? I'm worried for him! Just to clarify, She did say he was being rejected, but didn't specifically say it was by his label. Looking back to the tweets leaves it open to interpretation. I'm reading between the lines and I think she meant rejected in general, by radio, the label, just the industry as a whole. Her other tweets indicated frustration in general with artists trying to break through and how impossible it is because all radio plays is the same artists singing the same song about the same things. While the artists with more artistry, I guess, are getting little airtime. I am hoping it was leaning more towards her frustration with radio than the label. Fingers crossed that something happened with this song in the next couple of weeks! Edit: this song has gone from a full list of leaders (20) down to just 12 as of today. That's a big decline over a weeks time. 12 leaders is not enough to chart and indicates they must be pulling it. Not sure he will get another single with Sony. 6/8 Edit: I will just keep editing this post so I don't double post or push this thread back to the top of the board. As of today he is down to 10 leaders and zero adds again. I would say Sony is pulling this. I don't this his future with them is looking to bright. I would be shocked if they tried another single with him. I am betting they will quietly drop him. Such a waste of talent.

It looks like this one is done. It's up 14 spins at KKBQ in Houston, but it's down 28 spins at KSCS in Dallas and down 24 spins at KSON in San Diego.
I think it'll probably spend 1 more week in the Billboard top 60 on Monday, but after that it will almost certainly go recurrent.
Such a shame, as I think this is one of the best singles of the year. Casey really sounds great here--you can really hear the emotion in his voice. I really love the lyrics and the production as well, but Sony has barely promoted this. As I said, a couple months ago the Columbia ads in Aircheck featured all 4 of their currently-charting artists (Kenny, Chase, Tyler, and Casey), but a few weeks ago Casey was dropped from the ads, and they've only showed Kenny (Wild Child), Chase (Gonna Wanna Tonight), and Tyler (Withdrawals) since then.

He's gotta be familiar with his talent and know what he's capable of. Here's to hoping he's going to support Casey and maybe even take a bit of a risk with the next single.

I see Casey getting dropped because of his idol deal thru 19... This isn't a fruitful one for Sony. They are better off backing younger acts that probably have 360 deals.

Well this was a big flop no thanks to his label. What a disappointment after they laid all the groundwork only to pull promo when it's just taking off. How in the world his song "Drive" has not seen the light is day is beyond me. This is Casey's signature song. It's the perfect anthem for Nascar, auto brands and just generally awesome. I hope Jason Owen is announced soon and he takes notice of this song:

I hope Jason Owen is announced soon and he takes notice of this song: Not sure it is all the label's fault. Although this song is pleasant it doesn't really stand out, especially for a summer song. And probably needed to sell better-although I know it is charting too low to help now it appeared briefly on the charts when Sirius was spinning it but fell off quickly. I think he is a new artist that needs radio help, but with American Idols it seems the label only invests because they think the artist comes with a good face recognition/fan base already. I agree about Drive-why they picked his third single instead of Drive is odd. The only thing I can think of is that the album version is no where near as good as his live performance (I saw him a couple of summers ago) or the acoustic you tube one that was circulating and with his expensive AI contract they didn't want to invest in redoing a song? It would be shocking, IMO, if he had another chance, even with a new CEO. American Idols seem to sink or swim with their labels and if it wasn't for the radio finagling of COAS and the help of Texas radio stations that song wouldn't have made it as far as it did. I was happy it hung on through November until January to finally make it to top 20 but it only hung on because they'd let spins fall, then just get the bullet back by inches. I'm sure there are plenty of songs that play that game, just saying. All the signs are there that he's dropped/will be as far as label ignoring him in ads and also very telling he didn't play many RCA songs at CMAfest. If that is the case, I'm sad we won't get another album He should be able to get picked up by a smaller label (will he stick with Country?) but will have to start from scratch and it will be a while. Hopefully I am completely wrong and they will put out a fantastic single with proper promo soon.

Well, it looks like this one will re-bullet on Billboard after all, thanks to KKBQ in Houston. They've increased Casey's airplay by 34 spins in the last week. They are pretty much the only station playing "Fall Apart", but because it's such a big market station, 58 spins there (which equals 1.3 million in audience) is more than enough to keep Casey on the Billboard chart for at least another week.
Casey is getting about 75% of his total audience from KKBQ alone. As soon as they're done playing this one, it will quietly disappear.

As jhomes87 said, KKBQ in Houston is literally the only station supporting this song as they have accounted for over 1.3 million of "Fall Apart's" audience this past week. Casey's song is the fourth most spun song on their playlist (60 spins), ahead of "Sangria", "Little Toy Guns", "Love Me Like You Mean It" and "Love You Like That. That seven spot jump is a mirage.

Ugh. This is like pouring salt on a wound. We all know this is done. KKBQ propping this up is depressing. It's like a long slow death.

It looks like Casey James has been dropped by Sony :( They took him off the Columbia Nashville website sometime today, because I just checked last night and his picture was still up.

"Fall Apart" certainly seemed like it was pulled this week too. It took a big hit on Billboard It was pulled a few weeks ago already. The only reason it's even still charting is because it's been in medium to heavy rotation at KKBQ Houston and KSCS Dallas, which are two of the biggest stations on the panel. Their airplay alone is enough to keep Casey in the top 60. Pretty much every other station that was playing this one quit playing it already at the beginning of June, and if you read up in the thread, Columbia quit featuring "Fall Apart" in their promotional ads more than a month ago already. They had previously been featuring "Fall Apart" alongside "Wild Child", "A Guy Walks Into A Bar", and "Gonna Wanna Tonight. Now it's just "Save It For A Rainy Day", "Withdrawals", and "Gonna Wanna Tonight"...and no Casey. That was a clear sign that said he was no longer getting supported by the label, and it made me nervous that he'd get dropped soon. I wouldn't be surprised if other artists don't make it either...Steven Lee Olsen and Josh Dorr and maybe even The Swon Brothers seem like prime candidates. They might not get much of a shot under new leadership, and same goes for artists like Go Down Moses, Ryan Griffin, and Ben Gallaher, all of whom were signed by Overton but then never put anywhere. Anyway, it makes sense that those 2 Texas stations have continued to support Casey (a Texas native) even after the label pulled support. Eli Young Band would often get early support from Texas stations, and the San Antonio stations are still George Strait's biggest supporters--they were among the few to support "Let It Go".

Pic was up on the Sony website hours ago hours ago. sniff sniff..... REALLY glad I get to see him this weekend at the Opry. I hope he finds a new home at a smaller label. He needs more time and room to explore his sound. I will always be a fan of his. A sad one tonight, but always a fan.

Casey is a quality artist who needs to be heard. I hope he finds a home at a smaller label who allows and supports him to be the artist he is meant to be: Country/Blues/Rock/Soul. No one puts baby in the corner!!! :) :kii:

Look I like this song but it overstayed it's welcome. Should go recurrent next week. For the last few weeks it felt like it was wasting space.

Seems kind of odd to single out this song when it's one of the younger songs on the chart. It'll go recurrent next week (unless the Texas stations increase its spins again) now that he's been dropped from Sony, but still, it's not like this one was out that long. It didn't go for adds until about 3 months ago. Meanwhile we've got 20, 30, 40-week-old songs on the chart, and Canaan Smith's song is almost 50 weeks old.
