Ellie Goulding spring 2014 tour

Ellie had a very genuine personality and great stage presence. She had great dance moves, especially early on, and always used the dancing simply as a means of supplementing the rest of the performance- at no point did I feel like she was trying to make the show all about the dancing. I'd either forgotten that she played the drums or was never aware of it in the first place, but she's one hell of a drummer. She had a few drum solos sprinkled throughout the show, including one that was at least a minute long. I'd say overall I enjoyed the second half of the show more than the first, but the entire performance was great.
At the start of "Lights", she asked everyone in the audience to turn on the flashlights on the back of their phones and hold them up in the air. As I was in the general admission section of a venue that also had a seating section behind me, this resulted in a really awesome scene when I turned around. This photo doesn't even begin to do it justice, but here's what it looked like:
