Huh, i'd say party song based off the cover but Tobys been known to make a sad meaningful drinking tune(Hope On The Rocks). If i hadn't seen the writers i would have rolled my eyes at this, but Brandy + Shane is a deadly combo enough but throw in Bob Dipero and i think this will be interesting

I find it humorous just how many of Toby's recent singles have been songs about alcohol, even though the sounds and themes of them all have been pretty varied. I am looking forward to hearing it though based off those songwriting credits and the fact that Toby Keith has one of the best male voices in the business.

Somehow "Drunk Americans" as a title and with that artwork is sounding very promising to me Great to hear Toby is putting out a new single - hopefully something in his wheelhouse that radio can like. I suppose it is more or less on his schedule but when he did that release of past hits not long ago, I'd wondered if that would push new music out til next year.

From that picture, I'm getting a whole "we work hard all week, and on the weekend we just want to be Drunk Americans" vibe, but obviously I could be completely wrong. I hope it's powerful stuff. I'm not ready for Toby to be completely gone from country radio, seeing how he's one of the main artists that drew me to the genre.

Hopefully(based on the writers) this is like a way to make fun of people who get totally wasted at concerts(all those headlines this summer disgusted me). I like dm2081 suggestion but i seriously doubt based on the writers this would be an ode to workin hard and gettin drunk

Its been too long since Toby has been on the radio..... Hopefully he learned from the mistake of that last single which seemed an odd attempt to get in on the Bro movement. I certainly enjoy his party/whimsical songs of course, just don't think he was believable putting out that sort of almost hip hoppish sound. Hopeful for some classic Toby, no matter what the theme of the song.

I'm super excited for this. The fact that it's a Brandy Clark co-write really raises my expectations.
I really hope Toby can stay relevant at country radio. He's one of my favorite male artists of the past 25 years and even though he's released quite a few duds, I'm not ready for radio to stop playing his quality music.

How original...more songs about drinking. I can only take Toby a little bit at a time. Although, I was not fond of Hope On The Rocks or Drinks After Work, I am particularly excited for this.

Rolled my eyes so hard at this title. Same here, and I almost didn't even click on this thread to read it, but when I did and saw Brandy and Shane wrote this, I quickly grew very interested. I haven't been able to tolerate a Toby single in maybe 5 or 6 years now, but if the writers stuck to what they're good at here, this may not be the trainwreck we expect it to be based on the title and the artist.

While I admit to being somewhat hesitant on what to expect based on the song title, the old saying goes don't judge a book by its cover, so... In this case, yes, we have another possible song from Toby about alcohol. But, we've got tried-and-true songwriters here. They each stand on their own and with the combination of the three of them together I'm hoping to hear something great here. Count me in as someone who is longing to hear some new great Toby music on radio and hopefully a solid hit this time.

Yeah, I was kind of surprised to see Brandy's name, but given the nature of some of her material, I can see why. I think Toby tries to be clever with his songs but it just comes off as lame attempts. We'll see how this one goes!

Brandy Clark, Shane McAnally, and Bob DiPiero are all excellent writers. I can't wait to hear "Drunk Americans"!!

Well, since this century started, Toby Keith has went through two phases, being patriotic and drinking. This song combines both (how lucky for us)! For the record, his first patriotic phase happened because of 9/11 (naturally). That went from 2002-2004. Then drinking took over between 2004-2009. He went back to being an American between 2009-2011. Now, it's been all drinking since. Very few love songs in between.

@windmillsmusic: The ad for Toby Keith's upcoming 'Drunk Americans' has his usual subtle touch. Songwriters are better than that tho. Tweet

Sounds like another "Follow Your Arrow" kind of 'live and let live' anthem.

While Toby's prime era of putting out monster hits and top 5 radio songs on an ongoing basis is over, Shut Up and Hold On was such an awful song choice, I'm not sure I judge much by that to the potential for his newest release - especially without hearing it. Drinks after Work was very cute and did respectably - my station played it a ton.
It may not be the worst thing that there's been some space between Toby's last radio single and this one, especially after (IMO) he got a little over-exposed with Red Solo Cup in all its variations going viral to such an extent.

Toby, seriously, enough with the drinking songs.
I've always liked him, but this trend got really old really fast. I miss old-school Toby.

Does anyone want to make a BOLD prediction on record that this song will go top 5? I think we're all waiting to hear it first.
