I prefer "changing" to that song It's alright, but "Wishing Well" is the only single of theirs I've liked enough to chart anyway.

Wasn't this band sorta folk sounding at first? Anyway, to answer their question ,I don't think they are doing it right. Indie Pop; that is.

Sometime Around Midnight was amazing. Changing and Timeless and Hell And Back are okay but nothing special. Wrong sounds, well, wrong. It doesn't sound like any of the Airborne Toxic Event that I know.

I actually don't mind this so much. I don't really know if I like it better or worse than the other singles that I've heard since it's different with the dance/electric feel.

Another album? :o
This is not that electropop I was expecting, it's a good track IMO, anyway, I can't see this doing well.

It's about time somebody decided to make a Hot Depeche Mode remake that wasn't "Enjoy the Silence".

Top 50 on Alternative: 53 50 AIRBORNE TOXIC EVENT Wrong 123 93 30 0.205
I'm finding this to be a rather underwhelming lead single as someone who actively enjoyed several of their past hits. The overly synth-laden production just doesn't fit Mikel Jollett's voice all that well imo.

I'm starting to like this now. Not as much ass "SAM" or "Changing", obviously, but better than the snorefest that was "Timeless" and the cringeworthy "Hell and Back".

What the hell is this? They just threw away all their instruments and said f*ck it and went full pop. I swear Epic is the reason...

They got signed to a major label? Yeah they're on Epic Records (sadly) now. My main complaint about this song isn't that it's too overtly bloopy-bloopy; it's that it doesn't flow well with the vocals. Still not as bad as I first thought it was, and this type of electronic-influenced indie rock fits in well enough to be considered Alternative, but it could have been executed better.

I like "Hell and Back" and "Gasoline" most from these guys, which is a little odd considering they aren't among their biggest tracks.
This one I've been back and forth on. WRFF is playing it a lot so maybe it's a bit of Stockholm Syndrome but I wouldn't mind seeing this move up a little. It's way better than Reflections and that's somehow ahead so hopefully that injustice can be corrected.

And yet this is so far doing jack squat on Alternative, like a bunch of people predicted.

This is the least I've liked a lead single from them, by the way.

So no one's interested in them anymore. Or maybe Epic Records mishandled them. Or the synths aren't appealing enough to listeners.

RIP Airborne Toxic Event.
They'll probably never be seen on alternative again, and I won't be complaining. The only single of theirs I've ever truly enjoyed was "Wishing Well".

A big fan of this group. One of the few that I will keep purchasing without even hearing songs, even since Sometime Around Midnight. This album is very different for them but I really like it. It still has those sweeping, grandiose elements of their previous albums, just with electronic textures thrown in. Some of the songs sound disjointed, as if they started off as standard TATE songs and then, all of a sudden, they decided to throw in electronics. My Childish Bride is one of the best examples of this.

They pulled a Beyonce and released two albums. Dope Machines, the synthpop one, and Songs of God & Whiskey (the surprise), a folk album.

Oh..I think I heard about that. I might have to check it out. It's not in stores. Or at least not in any of the major retail chains that carried Dope Machines.
Edit: Where the hell did they release Songs of God & Whiskey? Their website? It's not even on iTunes LOL.
Edit: Yes. Only through their website. Lame.

Just bought a ticket for their March 11 show at Warsaw in Brooklyn, that'll make the fifth or sixth show of theirs that I've seen. My favorite of all time is Does This Mean You're Moving On? I loved that song even before I moved to Seventh Street!
