This does sound similar to AATB , but it is still a pretty descent song, IMO. I do still prefer DFH and "Title" to this, though.

DFH is still the best choice. Don't know why they keep second guessing.

If they really don't want to cash on "All About The Bass" and actually create a sustainable career for her, "Lips Are Moving" really is the way to go. It's the most surefire things they've got.
"Title" and "Dear Future Husband" will make good third and fourth singles.

DFH is #60 on iTunes. It's absolutely gonna "Dark Horse" this.

Also, DFH has almost 6 million views on YouTube (twice as many as everything from the EP). Why is this not the 2nd single again?!

Hopefully "All About That Bass" was just a summer one-hit-wonder- thingy, cause I find her stuff very non-appealing tbh and this is hardly better. Oh well.

That argument applied when "Title" was the selected single (although not really - because as I've said 1000 times, I can't see the label ignoring the potential impact of the plagiarism allegations). Fans clearly preferred DFH to Title. Doesn't apply to a song that was specifically and shamelessly engineered to be the AATB follow-up, which is exactly what Lips are Moving is.

She just reminds me of another Carly Rae Jepsen. A singer-songwriter who gets the #1 hit song on the charts during the summertime. While I liked CRJ's other material,Meghan's other material doesn't live up to her smash hit "All About That Bass".This song at best go top 30.

Vocally she's miles above Carly...and her pen is better as well. She in no way resembles a major pop star but her ear for melody is really good...she's also only 20

She just reminds me of another Carly Rae Jepsen. It's called 'one hit wonder'.

She just reminds me of another Carly Rae Jepsen. It's called 'one hit wonder'. But Carly is not a one hit wonder by any means. When you have a song that it's at the top of the billboard chart by 9 weeks is easy to ignore that it wasn't her only hit. She had another top 10 hit with Good time, and she even scored another two top 40 songs more in the pop chart

She had another top 10 hit with Good time, and she even scored another two top 40 songs more in the pop chart I think it's stretching it to not call her a one hit wonder as she stands right now. Two top 40 hits are not enough to save you from one hit wonder status. And while Good Time certainly was a hit, it was an Owl City song first and foremost that she just happened to land herself on. It could have easily ended up being his own song entirely, so she lucked into that one. The fact is though if you only have one lasting big hit, you're often called a one hit wonder whether you had other chart success or not. Tiffany in the 80's is a great example of that. She even had a second #1 hit after "I Think We're Alone Now", but yet she's viewed today as a one hit wonder.

I really like her and love "All About That Bass," but I find this a little underwhelming on first listen. "Dear Future Husband" has some meh lyrics, but was a better choice. That song was gifted a nice peak coming off the back of "Call Me Maybe," but no one cars nor remembers it.

I'm very confused on Epic's thought process on her promotion. With this release, the EP is now seemingly pointless. And also, "Dear Future Husband" is at #62 on iTunes and "Title" is at #98, why not go with one of them considering sales are sort of there already? Plus those two have better chances at being hits than this. No wonder people say Epic is a sh*tty record label.

Looks like it's premiering tomorrow through...Shazam. If you need to criticize Epic for something, it's this. Stop with these gimmicky 'exclusive premieres' and just launch the song. It was Perez for DFH, MTV for Title, now Shazam for Lips are Moving. What happened to...the front page of iTunes and Vevo at midnight?

Sorry but a one hit wonder is an artist that had a big hit and don't have another top 40 hit. If we start to label a one hit wonder someone who had a number four after her big hit, we redefining the meaning of one hit wonder stripping all the sense of it. Good time can be forgettable, but it was a hit, and it was a hit for her not for Owl city. And the same for Leona Lewis, maybe people forgot better in time, but that doesn't mean the song didn't reach number 3 (and two more top 40 hits). Walking in memphis or Barely Breathing are one hit wonders (really good one hit wonders), Call me maybe not

Looks like it's premiering tomorrow through...Shazam. All About That Bass has been #1 there for several weeks so it helped it seems . i would guess it would be on itunes as well since if people are going to search for it they should be available to buy it. a link to listen to it on MTV which says it is on itunes but it is not as of yet. www.mtv.com/artists/meghan-trainor/

They should have the LP out before Christmas, major mistep waiting until January, unless they're just trying to get her a high charting album and dont care about the sales. Dear Future Husband should have been serviced as the second single of the EP and then release Lips are Moving with the album Thanksgiving week.

But if you are trying to have the artist sell albums then how can you release a song that won't be on it? With the amount of songs she's recorded there's no point in putting DFH and Title on the album. At the most you could tack them on as bonuses but how would the ep consumer feel if they could've just waited for the album to get those other 3 songs....I think Epic is doing the right thing

Dear Future Husband should have been serviced as the second single of the EP and then release Lips are Moving with the album Thanksgiving week. Not sure I'm following. If you want a late-November album release, then there certainly wouldn't be time to launch Dear Future Husband. Unless it's a flop, a single that launches now (and now is the earliest an AATB follow-up should have launched) is going to run through late-December/early-January at the earliest. All About That Bass impacted on I believe 7/1, had an unusually fast rise up the chart, and is only just now peaking. The current plan seems to be launching Lips are Moving now and then a follow-up single in conjunction with the album release. -- As for the timing itself, it's a bit of an oversimplification to assume Christmas would automatically be better. Yes, the holiday season tends to raise all boats, but there is also increased competition both for retail displays and for chart position. Plus, it's very obvious "Lips are Movin" was written very recently, which could reflect either a change in strategy for the album or the fact that, in any case, the album isn't done yet. You are right that they *do* seem to be waiting a bit long on this one, though. The rise of Kesha's "Tik Tok" came about a month and a half later in the calendar year than AATB, and her album came out on January 5. That would suggest that Thanksgiving week, as you suggested, is the right time for the album. But maybe they're thinking they'll benefit from less competition--and more time to finish the album--by launching in January. In the meantime, they'll still get some holiday sales for the EP (which is holding up almost absurdly well).

This is cool but all of the songs from the EP are better than this.
