I'd say sale pricing is good when the song or artist is more known (but not super known). So like something like Habits by Tove Lo might benefit it more.
Having fans involved is a good method. Somehow using social media - but that can be tricky because you don't want them out there spamming either. I seem to remember Dragonette having some fun contests and stuff that might have helped get their name out there a bit when their last album came out a few years back.
Playing up the Ed connection could help too but you probably don't want to rely on that too heavily either for a couple reasons.

You guys got any ideas to push sales? I think using Edβs visibility is key for now. I donβt follow him or Hoodie on Twitter and Facebook (sorry Hoodie) but has Ed tweeted anything about this song to his followers on either media site? Edβs coming off 2 Top 10 CRH hits and is sending a third straight to the Top 5; his visibility is quite high at the moment. I say use that to your advantage. Iβm sure Ed has some vested interest in this doing well. Any push in the UK being done? Maybe a cool viral fan video would work? Cool lyric video? Get buzz out there. .. Iβm also not familiar with how stuff works on iTunes, but is there a chance this could be offered up as a free download for like a week or so? This obviously wouldnβt help with sales initially, but might help gain some traction on iTunes. Again, not sure how easy this is to do as Iβve read it take months to get stuff posted to iTunes. Your albumβs been out since October so Iβm not sure if this is even an option. I see this is almost Top 25 on CHR but with a somewhat small bullet and it's started to fall on Rhythmic. If anything can be done to drive up sales, itβll have to be very soon.

Your albumβs been out since October so Iβm not sure if this is even an option. iTunes actually just discontinued their Single of the Week program (the last one was 12/30), so that option is out. :/ I did see it's now discounted to $0.99 (everything else on the album is still $1.29) and it's about to enter the top 100 (currently #109 according to LivePopBars), though.

Thank you!!! Good advice all around See if Ed will post the VEVO link to your video on Twitter to his 12 million followers. Each time someone watches, it counts towards the Hot 100!

Thank you!!! Good advice all around I'd say perhaps the best option is to see if there are any ads with available spots, given that songs like "Take Me to Church" and "The Man" have become super popular because of their use in commercials.

One key is also to continue the airplay gains. Unfortunately, for a new artist to sell a bunch you often need to get the song to the masses. The more airplay you can get (especially in large markets) the more people become familiar with the song (any you). Many stations (including my local station) don't play ANYTHING by a new artist until it's Top 20 or very close to it. If the airplay gains continue for a couple more weeks and you can get a push closer to Top 20, I think you'll get more adds from some of the holdout stations, thus increasing exposure, thus leading to increased sales. The song is catchy and I think could be a breakout. Next couple weeks are vital. Need to get all your fans requesting the song (everywhere, not just their local station)--show the stations the demand is there. Any performances or appearances help. Get Ed to tweet about it to get support from his people. Pull out all the stops! If this hits, it opens the door to some love from the genre. Good luck man, it's a great song!

Whats up Hoodie. I actually knew you from football at JFK hs back in the day lol..we have some mutual friends. Anyways, I've been following your music as a fellow long island kid the last 3 or 4 years and I think its awesome you're interacting with the fans like this. I feel like this is a song that has the potential to blow up on pop radio. It's unique and stands out for sure. I agree with some of the previous posts also about utilizing Ed's presence in the song. "Don't" and "Thinking Out Loud" are turning into hits presently. I think focusing on the fact you have Ed Sheeran rapping on a mainstream track is huge. That's the way I've presented the song to friends to get there attention and it seems to be the most effective. Another thing..I would really consider releasing and making a major push on "Movie." I've gotten the best response hands down with that song and I feel like it could do great on radio. I'll be around and we can chat some more lol..wish you all the best man.

Hot 100 Chart Moves:Hoodie Allen feat. Ed Sheeran, "All About It" The 26-year-old rapper makes his Hot 100 debut at No. 100 with his collaboration with Sheeran, which bounds 24-19 on Hot Rap Songs. It gains by 10 percent to 15,000 sold.

Huh? This is a rap track :o ? Yeah lol. Hoodie is a rapper, despite this (and most of his album) being sort of poppy. He's got great rap that has a pop tinge to it. I'd check out his other stuff!

It could just be a bad update, unless this starts doing this consistently, don't freak out prematurely.

Yeah, it would seem premature. But at the same time, it isn't that uncommon for first singles to peak modestly before the next ones do super well. I keep thinking about wanting to ask hoodie for an interview for my blog but I've never interviewed an artist before. if I do, now's the time.

It's not the greatest sign, but with it starting to gain in popularity this week, I'd assume it'd go up soon. Doooo it!!

I keep thinking about wanting to ask hoodie for an interview for my blog but I've never interviewed an artist before. if I do, now's the time. What's the weekly readership of your blog? Will it benefit his promotional cause? My blog counter tells me the month of December had over 11,000 visitors with over 29,000 page views, though I suspect a lot of those are spambots or whatever. Google analytics gave me a much more grim total of 50 visitors a day on average (or about 1/7th my other counter). Will it benefit his promo? Obviously not as much as a radio promo spot or a more known blog but posts I've written have been picked up on and shared by the most randomest of musicians within Canada so it's not like nobody reads it. It was mostly an idea I pondered and even if I were to suggest/request and he were to accept, I doubt it would take up too much time. Your 'concern' is appreciated though.
