I'm shocked no one has mentioned this sounds like All That She Wants by Ace of Base. Definitely not a bad thing. This is one of the best at the moment.

Now $0.69 on iTunes, featured under Hot Tracks this week, and back up to #32 on the overall chart.

Unfortunate that radio is leaving this in the dust when sales are proving it has potential to be a massive hit. I think Ed's in the middle of a career moment with "Thinking Out Loud" and this has to suffer because of that.

I'm honestly surprised this is peaking. It has Ed Sheeran's name on it and it's pretty pop-friendly. Hope it recovers.
Not to mention it's one of the better rap songs on the charts now.

I think Ed's in the middle of a career moment with "Thinking Out Loud" and this has to suffer because of that. There's also "Don't", which just went recurrent not too long ago, but is still getting decent play. Strange thing: Even if this were to not recover, it's already outperformed the other Ed feature (Old School Love), which charted with no other real presence from him on the radio at that time. So...if anything, the feature has still been more beneficial than not, so far?

I'm not a pop fan at all so tried to go into this with a open mind. This is actually a cute song and hope it does well. I think for this to truly take off its needs some kind of viral video to draw more casuals and turn them into mini hoodies. Seeing Hoodie posting on youtube is a good touch and nice way of building grassroots fans. Showing them you care about their opinion and or giving that perception anyways is a good marketing ploy.

I can say that Hoodie does a really great job with his fans, he's probably the most interactive with them compared to anybody out there. If you follow him on Twitter, he's always tweeting fans back.
While I know Hoodie wants this to be a huge success on pop radio, and it still could be, I think everything that it has already done is really great and has really helped him solidify his status in the music industry. This was a good stepping stone for him.
Still want a 'No Interruptions' re-release. The bomb.

Back in the top 20! I'm assuming it's the MTV thing helping here?

My post was more of a half joke. It's just such a jam. <3

Back in the top 20! I'm assuming it's the MTV thing helping here? Presuming it's because it's still discounted at iTunes and is visible on the front page in the Hot Tracks section (for only $0.69, whereas the others visible in that section are all $1.29). (ETA: and this week it was moved up in the Hot Tracks listing - it was in the list, but not on the front page last week)

It already was before and was falling into the 30s. But I'm sure the discount is still helping :)

I'd guess it's a combination of the discount (good call) and the MTV shoutout. Great timing for both of those. I think Ed's in the middle of a career moment with "Thinking Out Loud" and this has to suffer because of that. Doubt it. This is a pretty common misconception about radio-- they'll play two songs that feature the same artist. Ed Sheeran is not a guarenteed hitmaker though, and this is essentially hoodie's "breakout hit". Sales are consistent enough that this could turn into a sleeper hit on radio if its iTunes performance keeps up like this. Radio's not just going to flat out ignore that. The real question is how this will perform on the Hot 100. If sales and airplay don't overlap, then we're probably not looking at a massive hit on the charts, but that's still very encouraging for future success.

In fact radio played three songs with Sam Smith, all rising, and he was an unknown back then.
It could be a case if both songs were similar, but unless other Ed's songs, Thinking out loud is totally different of this

If anything Ed's "career moment" would help this song rather than overshadow it. I don't understand that train of thought tbh.

Sales should, ordinarily, help, but ultimately, if radio wants to let this die, it will. 1D are about to go into death spiral despite callout coming in that shows listeners apparently are loving it. If things like that can happen, so too can things even more unexplainable.

If things like that can happen, so too can things even more unexplainable. Yes, but all his buzz came from a number one on UK (two if we count La, la, la) and a couple of great performances on SNL. And i remember very well people thinking Latch was a great song but had zero chances of making an impact on the USA, and people were very dubious of Stay with me. Hoodie only have one song on the chart, and it's doing well on itunes. We can make a comparision with Prayer in C which is only starting to climb now on itunes but has a lot of radio support (i know there are not complains because people love the song, but the situation is not different of what happened with Krewella back then). Yes Ed has two songs, but both are very very different, and that was my point, that i don't think the success of Thinking out loud affecting this. In fact on a lesser way there are other songs like Ghost or Stuck on a feeling radio is not fully supporting right now (the case of Stuck on a feeling is quite curious because radio supported fully the song when it was not selling). This could rebound, but i think the odds are in this pulling a Riptide or Stolen Dance Anyway, making some presence on radio is important, because it could open the gates for future singles

Lol no, you're awesome man. Hope there's a second single coming soon! Still wish No Interruption would've been huge, still play that song all the time.
