Video Games blew up in Germany in late 2011 and turned me into a lifelong Lana stan. She's the first artist I really stanned and used to be my fave until Ella came along.
I first heard about Grimes on /mu/ in January 2012 and I was just blown away by Oblivion. Genesis was out at the time too and Visions came out the same month. Funnily enough I wasn't into Geidi Primes, Halfaxa and Darkbloom at all at first, it took me a while to get into the rest of her discography.
The Love Club EP for Lorde. I checked it out after I saw Royals on TV for the first time and was immediately hooked, the rest is history.
Dangerous Woman for Ari. Obviously I was aware of her before but DW slayed me.

I was a Wu-Tang fan after listening to 36 Chambers, and I was an Offspring fan after listening to Americana. I also remember really getting into Nickelback after I bought their greatest hits CD and listened to it a lot afterwards.

Katy Perry: "Hot n Cold", but the Teenage Dream album took it to a whole other level for me. Especially the title track. She lost me a bit with Witness though.
Lady GaGa: "Just Dance" LOL. She started to lose me with the "Alejandro" video being weird for the sake of... being weird? By the time BTW came out I was done with her, mostly, save for a few songs here and there. I still support her but I don't stan for her anymore.
Britney: "I'm a Slave 4 U". She lost me a bit during Femme Fatale but I still support her, as long as fans don't try to pretend her lip-syncing / barely dancing thing is cool.
Rihanna: "Don't Stop the Music". Then "Disturbia" sealed the deal.
Calvin Harris: "Feel So Close" / 18 Months
Ariana Grande: "Into You", duh. The entire Dangerous Woman album deserves kudos though.
Taylor Swift: Red. I was onboard with Fearless but Speak Now wasn't my favorite at the time, but the mix of Pop and Country on her fourth album really sold her for me.
The Weeknd: Maybe "Can't Feel My Face"? But I stanned really hard for the Starboy album.
Dua Lipa: "Be The One" was amazing and I was a fan then and there.
Ed Sheeran: I liked some stuff from the first two albums, but the one-two punch of "Shape of You" (it's fun!) and "Castle on the Hill" (the lyrics!) made me a real fan.

Destiny's Child/Beyoncรฉ: I loved "No No No" a lot back in 1998. "Bills Bills Bills" made me pay attention to them as a group. The Writings On The Wall and Destiny Fulfilled remain as their best works. I loved Beyoncรฉ as a solo artist since "Crazy In Love".
Drake: "Successful" spoke to me in college. lol. I wanted the finer things in life. Drake's put out some great bodies of work over the years. I enjoyed each one except More Life.
Jay-Z: I loved the "Hard Knock Life" video back in 1998 and became a fan since. I wasn't checking for his 4:44 album though.
Kanye West: I thought he was a decent rapper during the College Dropout and Late Registration eras. He had some great songs. It wasn't until he dropped Graduation that I thought he could do no wrong. "Can't Tell Me Nothing" was another college anthem. Ye had my full and undivided attention up until Yeezus.
Miguel: "Adorn" and The Art Dealer Chic series made me realize that he wasn't playing around. Kaleidoscope Dream is one of the best albums of the decade.
Missy Elliott: I thought she was awesome and cool in the late 90s, but I wasn't exposed to her that much. "Hot Boyz" changed all of that back in 2000. I started getting into anything related to Missy, from song snippets to music videos. Her third album Miss E...So Addictive is a damn drug and summed up what Missy and her music is.
Usher: I was a casual fan during the My Way era. The singles were great. My classmates and cousins liked him. I decided to check him out when he dropped "I Don't Know" (with Diddy & The Neptunes) and "U Remind Me". Usher has been putting in solid work since then.

Janet: she was introduced to me very earlier on age so I've been a huge fan since I was a tot. Madonna: from watching her story on vh-1's Behind The Music in '98.ย Mariah: She was introduced to me by my dad, but I didn't really started paying attention to her til the Emancipation of Mimi and E=MC2 era. That's when I started to check out her discography. Aaliyah: "Are You That Somebody" and "Try Again" were always my favorites when she was alive, but I didn't start checking our her albums til 9 years after her death. Selena: from watching the "Selena" movie. Xtina: love her since her debut came out. Been following her career ever since. Toni Braxton: pretty much from childhood. Crystal Kay: since last year when I watched KiraKuni, I wasn't really familiar with jpop music the years before. itโs so crazy we both love Mariah Janet and CRYSTAL KAY!

Xtina: Ever since I heard the song "Beautiful", but became a hardcore fan around late 2013.
Bruno Mars: I got into him because my cousin introduced me to "Grenade" and I've been a fan ever since. But he truly won me over with "24K Magic" album.
Taylor Swift: I started following the charts the year "1989" came out and I became a fan, but she won me over with "Blank Space" Ariana Grande: Same situation as Taylor. The song that made me love her was "Break Free"
Mariah Carey: She was always huge in Jamaica so I grew up listening to her greatest hits so I was always a fan I guess. But I loved her after playing "AIWFC" on repeat during the summer of eighth grade.
Rihanna: Same as MC. Rihanna is huge here and I've loved her since "Pon de Replay".
Selena Gomez: I grew up watching her on Tv and was always hyped when her MVs came on the TV. Loved her since "Naturally"
Demi Lovato: Same as Selena. The song that made me a fan was "Get Back" and "La La Land"
