Interesting. Honestly, this and "Beer In the Headlights" are the only two songs I don't really care for from Crash My Party, and this may be the only single Luke has ever released that I'm not a fan of. The mixing on the song sounds so messy and all over the place, and the goofy 80's sounding backing vocals during the "your lips, your eyes" line is just a little too much for me. Also, the first time I heard this song I kept hearing him sing "ICU" for some reason. Even though I know that's not what he's really saying, it still pops in my head every time I hear it and it kind of bothers me. Maybe it'll grow on me.

Interesting choice. I was almost postitive it would be "Dirt Road Diary" considering its initial success, and as one of my favorites off the album, I was really pulling for it. I think this is a good choice though. I've always liked this song and considered it to be one of the album's best, although strangely I never really found myself going out of the way to listen to it like I did some of the other tracks. It should continue his success though, and I think it will be good for his career. Since his breakthrough, this may be the first single to show some true originality in Luke. There's nothing like this on the chart right now, and I think that could work in his favor.
It's unrealistic, but I'd like to see them go seven singles in with this album so "Dirt Road Diary" gets its chance. And honestly, if sales weren't an issue, I could see everything except "Goodbye Girl" becoming a #1.

Wow 6 singles deep. Good for him, I always say go for it if you can, and he sure can at this point.

I wonder if this still went for adds today. I really haven't heard or seen much about it. I'm assuming that rsmatto meant it would be released to radio today rather than going for adds. None of the major sources have listed an adds date for this yet, but it did pick up its first 3 adds on Mediabase today. My guess is that the actual adds date will be either the 10th or the 17th. I checked Play MPE and there wasn't anything on there about this getting sent out to radio today, but I wouldn't be surprised if it did get sent out anyway, or if it does at some point later this week.

Country Aircheck tonight says that "I See You" is seeking immediate airplay and adds. I suspect that next Monday we'll see many stations adding "I See You".

I guess much like Florida Georgia Line with "Sun Daze" Luke Bryan doesn't really need an official adds date to start speeding up the chart and he probably won't ever get one.

"I See You" is most added on MB this week with 76 adds. And it debuts at #43 on the airplay chart. Would love to see this one go to #1 after Luke Bryan's Entertainer win. That means 83% of his Crash My Party singles are chart toppers.

People keep saying "Dirt Road Diary," but I'm actually surprised that "We Run This Town" didn't make it as a single. It seems like one of those songs is an unofficial single of sorts. I always hear it playing in bars and out of people's cars and it just seems like a fan favorite to me. "I See You" has started to grow on me. I still think it would benefit with an alternate single mix or a redrum or something to give it more of a punch. It's not a bad song, I just feel like it's kinda boring compared to his other material.

I think "Dirt Road Diary" comes up as a frontrunner since that was the name of his tour, but I agree that "We Run This Town" is the stronger option. The strongest, though, remains "Beer in the Headlights." It's pure bro country--so I doubt people will admit to liking it here--but it's clearly the catchiest thing left on the album. And "You got the beautiful, I got the cooler full" would so be a thing... Of course, the fact that we're even having this discussion is impressive. We're talking about potentially extending to NINE singles from this album - and it's not like some of the comparatively less radio friendly tracks like "Blood Brothers" wouldn't be obvious single choices if they appeared on other country albums.

Good lord, this song's already at #35 on the MB rolling chart which essentially means its at #33 since both Jason's "Burnin' It Down" and Brantley's "Small Town Throwdown" will be going recurrent on Sunday. Luke still should be able to leap Jana and Toby and the falling Brothers Osborne which could mean a top 30 debut on MB for "I See You", which is unreal for a sixth single.

Yeah, it's crazy how successful this album and its singles have been. "We Run This Town" and "Dirt Road Diary" have been two of my top choices for singles since the album came out. Maybe one of them will see a release. I know it's unlikely, but so is the fact that a sixth single will debut in the top 30 of the Mediabase chart, as sabre14 pointed out.

The way his songs fly up the charts, I wouldn't put it past him and his team to release a seventh single. It all depends on when he plans on releasing a new album. Last time around "Kiss Tomorrow Goodbye" peaked in December, his Spring Break album was release in March, he debuted "Crash My Party" on the ACMs (April), "That's My Kind of Night" was released the first week of August, and then a week later the album was released. If he follows this for the next album I think "I See You" will probably be the last single, since it will probably peak February (that's just a guess because Roller Coaster took that long to peak, and we are going into the holidays), then March he will have his Spring Break EP, and then possibly a lead off single ready in time for the ACMs. If they decide to go with a 7th single, I would love to see "Dirt Road Diary" "Shut It Down" or "We Run This Town."

I would like to see Capitol 'capitolize' on the Entertainer win for Luke Bryan by releasing a new CD next year and a lead single released during the first quarter. ^^^^ I think they will probably go with a new single and album too, because like I said, by the time "I See You" peaks he will be getting ready to release his Spring Break EP. I'm not expecting a new single until spring and then a new album in the summer at the earliest.

I don't care how hot an artist is, that's something that would be extremely rare to do and I fully exepct "I See You" to be the Crash My Party era closer. Also, "I See You" leaped Jana today on MB, which means if Luke can find a way to pass Toby by tomorrow's evening update, he will have himself a top 30 MB debut.

It's common for most artist's to have to compete with their recurrent play of their previous single, but not many still have to compete with recurrent play from TWO singles ago. My lord, "Play It Again" is still getting enough airplay to chart in the top 30 on Billboard. That's insane, it peaked almost half a year ago.

It's crazy how well he's doing at radio with this album. In week two, "I See You" jumps 43-28*. That's great for a lead single, let alone a sixth single.

The way this song is exploding right now is just more proof of how on fire Luke Bryan is right now. That said, I don't care for this song. It's definitely my least favorite from the singles he's released from the record. I've never actually heard the full album. I should though, because I usually like Luke. But this one is just too bro sounding for me. I think it's mostly the instrumentation, because the vocal arrangement in the chorus is good. As a whole though, I'm not feeling it.

^I agree. My opinion of this song hasn't changed at all, and if anything I like it less now then when I heard it for the first time. I was so pumped after "Roller Coaster" that I was really hoping Luke would keep the ball rolling with another great tune (a la "We Run This Town"), but alas we get this. I can see why this would resonate with the current crop of listeners at country radio, but lyrics like "Delete you from my phone, find a girl and take her home" are not going to pull me into the song and want to hear it.
I'll be skipping this one and hoping it climbs fast enough we'll get maybe one good single to end the era for this album.

A lot of people like "We Run This Town", but I don't see what the fuss is at all. I think it's possibly the most cliche song on the album. It just doesn't do anything for me, it sounds like an extremely weak rip off of "Tattoos on this Town" to me. The chorus isn't catchy at all IMO.

^I hear zero resemblance to "We Run This Town" and Jason's "Tattoos On This Town" (I just listened to them back to back to make sure and I'm definitely not hearing what you are other than both songs have the word "Town" in them). I personally think "I See You" is cliche, especially in comparison to what country radio has given us since 2013. We'll have to agree to disagree ;).

Well both songs are about remember earlier times teenagers or young adults had in their respective hometowns. I didn't mean the lyrics are identical, nor the production was the same, but the same ideology/theme is the same. Obviously this is a popular theme, but I just threw Tattoos on the Town out there because in my mind it's the gold standard for these type of songs. But yes, we will have to agree to disagree.

I can see the "small town, we're still hanging around" vibe coming from both songs, though they do sound very different.

I'm surprised many people are not enjoying this one (or at least compared to other potential singles from his album). This is easily one of the better singles released from this album in my opinion. I enjoyed "Crash My Party", but the combination of "That's My Kind of Night", "Drink a Beer" and "Play It Again" had all kinds of distaste about this album and Luke. But now with "Roller Coaster" and "I See You" (and the claim to many other enjoyable songs on this album), I should probably listen to the rest of it.
For singles from this album, I'd rate them as:
1. Roller Coaster 2. Crash My Party 3. I See You (huge gap) 4. Drink a Beer 5. Play It Again (enormous gap) 6. Thats My Kinda Night

"I See You" continues to act more like a lead single than a sixth single. It increases another 7.3 million in audience this week as it moves from #30 to #24 on MB. It has accumulated 14.3 million in audience in the past two weeks.

Thats My Kinda Night Why is "Drink a Beer" lumped in with that crowd? Not saying it's some amazing song or whatever, but it's an emotional song with a clear country sensibility to the lyric. Completely avoids the "poppy" and "bro-y" criticisms that are waged against That's My Kind of Night and Play it Again But he's saying he CAN'T do that, which is a pretty honest sentiment relatable to anyone ever dealing with a hard breakup. It's not super sophisticated or eloquent, but it's real - and that's what country is all about.
