They seem way more popular than the success they are getting, so sooner or later they'll get a hit (and it'll be better if they get that hit as soon as possible, we all know how little patience labels have with talent show singers)

Yeah but Epic has stood firmly behind them no matter what....some of that being because LA Reid believed in them on X Factor

Yeah but Epic has stood firmly behind them no matter what....some of that being because LA Reid believed in them on X Factor I think that's good. Generally labels treat talent show artist like trash. They are something to cash without making any effort. We have the second album effect on American idol alums (the ones lucky enough to have luck with the first album). And there are examples of successful singers that were dropped by the labels at the first chance like Jordin Sparks, or even better Adam Lambert. Adam is a perfect example because he has the fanbase, he has very successful tours, he even score a number one at billboard top 200 but the label did zero effort to promote him on radio, dropped him and then try to cash a little more releasing a greatest hits album. And very young singers with no experience (and without a clear idea of what they want to do) are the perfect example of how to destroy a career. Having a clear idea of what you want make the difference between Will Young's career and Joe McElderry's one (Simon Cowell has no shame). At least this girls have good voices, right now there's no hot girl band, so why not give them a try, two or even three. Sometimes a group or a singer explode after a good while. Sugababes where dropped after their first album (which had more than decent sales) only to explode after the second

^It really does sound like DHYB. This is going to yield some killer remixes. Hopefully one by Fred Falke (who made DYHB into a bonafide sounding hit).

Solid song, even strong a few points. Meghan Trainor's ability to write a killer pre-chorus shines through here.
But there's something about it that's still disappointing. It's radio-friendly enough to potentially get some play, but it's not at all disruptive. I'd like to see them taking more risks.
Bo$$ was a risk that didn't work, but that's because it's a bad song -- not because there's no opportunity for these girls to be creative.

They can't really afford to take risks yet.... They haven't had a legitimate hit yet! I would let them become established artists before I even thought about doing that.

I know this only goes tomorrow, but any early reports?
Also
Do we know if billboard changed charting rules for instant grat tracks? Because they reported 15k which seems low for even them.
Btw, la reid won't drop them when he is probably making money off touring and other merchandise.

Yes - they only count if people buy the track individually; instant-grats no longer count.

Thanks Kurt.
The only thing I would change is is how the vocals seem a bit muffled. I think it is because of the type of song it is. But other than that- i do like it.

The UK loves girl groups. I think they would do well there. But its majorly gonna piss me off if they find so much success in Europe stop trying in the US.

They won't ignore the usa Fanbase. Even if they find European success.
Anyway,
Should be exciting to see the video!

Am I the only one who thinks they should change their name? Fifth Harmony seems like a terrible girl band name.
