This is looking like it will be a big hit. Excellent. I wonder if they're going to send it to the urban formats.

It's doing great on iTunes so far... it's #3 in US (audio & music video) It needs to gain >15% in sales to reach #2. Mark's comment:
It's also #2 in Australia, #3 in Canada & Netherlands :O _____________________________

Is there a specific reason that this is #3 on iTunes? I don't even think it was Top 10 yesterday.
Hope this can nail #1. This is soo good. Hot damn.

Is there a specific reason that this is #3 on iTunes? I don't even think it was Top 10 yesterday. Only the Music Video and then probably the fact that it became featured on iTunes front page as it started growing. It's not like Bruno did anything other than few twitter posts. Mark's doing the promo = one radio interview. The real promo starts with SNL, tomorrow. Locked Out of Heaven was in the 20s before SNL so UF has a way better start. ...debuts @ #63 on Canadian Hot 100.

Yes, it was the video which makes the song rise (and the fact that it gets better with more listenings, i didn't like it the first time but i think i'm going to end liking this a lot). The rise was sudden, but to be true Bruno is not the type of artist who usually go right at number one on itunes when he release a song, i remember Locked out of heaven performing considerably below Diamonds and Die young when it was released, but ending being a bigger hit.
The airplay is very good and that helps too.
Probably it'll go a little down after the performances at the AMAs but it's doing just great

The video was uploaded directly to Bruno Mars' Facebook and has 4,462,263 views. None of those views will count toward streaming points, right?

If I remember correctly... Gorilla facebook streams didn't count, I think. __________________________ La Toya is such a Bruno stan. She tweets about him & mentions him in interviews whenever she can. Billboard posted an article on the origins of Uptown Funk, its influences history of R&B and artists position on the radio... It's a long, looong essay basically, so I won't even post any snippets: To me, it seems like UF is already a bigger deal that I would expected it to be so far.... I'm not even talking about its commercial performance... the Rolling Stone writes regularly about it, and posted it at the top of their rating. Good, maybe next time Bruno will finally be good enough for them to review his new album. Publications that stopped noticing Bruno since Just The Way You Are, rediscovered him again.... MNE praised him and Mark for keeping it real, VIBE called Bruno x Mark a match made in heaven Hell, even the Guardian shamelessly admitted that Bruno, the Pop guy they love to underetimate & drag took this song to another level. It's a good sign, because previously It seemed like he could never win. ....and It's been just two weeks, I didn't see that coming.

To me, it was just OK. He somehow menaged to loose the fun & spontaneity the original has... Wasn't good at all. Beyond what you said, his vocal also lacked the edgy, soulful flavor of Bruno's - it was too straight ahead. That said, it did well for him as a contestant, and it brought more exposure to the song. So it was still a brilliant song choice.

it brought more exposure to the song. That's pretty much why I only mentioned that he didn't menage to mirror the groove this song has. I was trying to be nice :kii: Free promo is always a good thing. Especially in Mark x Bruno case, since they're not into making countless public appearances at all...

That's the problem with The Voice, performing is a HUGE part of the music industry, and The Voice's contestants are excellent vocalists, but they are classically trained and have no raw stage presence... they're bland, as exhibited by this performance... just awful.

This song is asbsolutely fantastic, ridiculously catchy, and I hope it has a long and healthy run on the charts. (#1 Hot 100 peak maybe? I hope so)
Though the "Don't believe me just watch" line keeps reminding me of Trinidad James' "All Gold Everything", which is an association I wish my brain could stop making.

First of all, this song is fantastic, that performance was fantastic (edit: Bruno's, not that awful guy from The Voice) and I hope this all does incredibly well.
That said, am I the only one worried about his voice after hearing it? On the recorded version and especially the live version he seems to have a lot more rasp than he usually does. His songs are all in super high keys so I'm sure this long ass tour has taken a toll. I hope he takes a break to rest his voice before his next era.
Anybody else feel this or am I being paranoid??? I just want him to preserve those clear tenor vocals because a voice like that is rare!

mattpalmermusic His voice sounded just fine when he was performing @ the American Museum of Nationa History Gala in NYC on 20/11. Like you can hear here: snippet1 or here: snippet2 so it's doubtful the tour did some serious damage to his voice. I think it's important to take two things into account: #1. It was his first UF live performance EVER.... Even for him it makes a huge difference. Bruno's 1st LOOH performance on TV wasn't all that good either... He was omitting the high notes and it was easily noticeable that it was a challenge for him. Then the more he performed the better he sounded live. #2: It was on SNL where problems with sound adjustment are pretty common unfortunately. When I watched this performance I got the impression that his mic volume was too low, and he did his best to breakthrough.
