It's amazing how fresh this song still sounds. I downloaded it in November and it's already my #4 most played song of 2014! I agree. I've played it 100's of times and still not tired of it at all. It's definitely my favorite TS song (until maybe the next album?).

I simply can't believe Blank Space is still flooring it like this, ESPECIALLY when you consider it's in the midst of Xmas programming. Even going beyond the records it is likely to secure, this feels unprecedented.

I think this will be her number one with more weeks at the top on the pop chart. Love me harder is climbing fast but it barely have a bigger bullet than Blank Space, I'm not the only one exploded in the last few days and right now has the biggest bullet on the top 10 and Take me to church has a huge bullet too, but all are simply too far, and if Blank Space continues to climb or at least hold its spins, there's even a chance of them peaking before reaching the top.
This is absolutely massive, and while some of the contenders outside top 10 like Uptown funk or Lips are moving are not having great callout scores (the case of LAM is strange because it started with a big potential but it's fading since then) this has one unbelievable huge

"I Knew You Were Trouble" was #1 for 7 weeks on Billboard Mainstream Top 40 (Pop Songs). Let's hope this can at least match that.

Does breaking the spins record mean anything in terms of what it tells us about radio - is radio a growing medium? Are more people listening to radio? Are stations now just playing all the same songs?

Are stations now just playing all the same songs? The spin record doesn't mean as much, because radio stations are often being added or dropped, so a nice method is SPS (spins per station), which is the total spins in a week divided by the number of stations, currently 175. This makes it easier to compare overtime. However, even this is changing constantly now. "Dark Horse" broke the SPS record at the beginning of the year, and it's currently ranked 7th in highest SPS peaks of the year behind "Blank Space", "Rude", "All About That Bass", "Am I Wrong", "Shake It Off", and "Black Widow". So basically, stations are just playing the top songs a hell of a lot more than they used to.

Nice that Taylor got the spins record back. She had it before with "I Knew You Were Trouble." a few years back.

I wonder what its spins would be at if there weren't a freeze going on right now. 18,000+ is crazy considering the circumstances. My guess is that it'd be nearly 20,000 without.
