Is this for real this time? What is her label smoking or drinking when dealing with her? My goodness, I do hope this makes it to #1.

This didn't debut, the other single ("Roots and Wings") for the commercial did. Thanks and I deleted. No worries, just didn't want folks confused (I get enough of that myself w/r/t radio chart stuff).

I'm glad that they finally have a new single coming out, but I'm not quite as sold on this song's chances as I was when it was initially announced as the third single. I really want it to succeed though, and in a way it does seem perfect as a late night nostalgic summer song, so maybe it can still end up being a big hit.

Oh Miranda......I hate to say this in the aftermath (or midst?) Of the tomato comments but this song is just grating to my ears. She sounds like a robot on the verses. The rest of the song doesn't bother me as much, but the verses alone just make it unlistenable to me.

I'm glad this is getting released. It's easily my favorite Miranda single, and perhaps my favorite song that she's recorded. For the most part I haven't been a fan of much of Miranda's music (definitely in the minority on Pulse), but something about this song just really grabs me and pulls me in.
I'm not sure if I see this going #1, but hopefully it can get her back to the top 10 at least.

Thrilled that we've finally got a concrete single with an adds date at last! I've been really frustrated with the timeline of this era and the single selection thus far, but I am glad that the wait is about to be over. I'm not sure if I see this being the one to bring her back to #1 or not, but damn if I don't hope it does. I still can't believe she hasn't had a #1 airplay hit this era yet. At any rate, this should easily do better than LRW did and I imagine LBT being on high right now from "Girl Crush" can only aid this one. And above all else, I love this track! One of my favorites on the album and I'm very much looking forward to this being on the radio, even if there's a handful of other songs that are probably not going to see the light of day that I like *just* a bit more. Really though this is probably as good a time as any to release this single.

Better late than never. This is one of my favorite songs from her to date and I really am hoping that the buzz Little Big Town is getting from their single transfers to this song as well.

I love this song and am really happy that it's going to be released afterall. The vocal blending took some getting used to, but once I got past that, I realized how pretty the song was. As others have stated, LBT's momentum from "Girl Crush" should help this one out. I really would like to see this do well.

"Smokin' And Drinkin'" is the fourth most added song on MB this week with 19 adds. One week before its official impact date (6/22).

That lyric video is so cool. It really fits the feel of the song so well. It's such a laid-back, relaxing song. It makes me excited to see what they do for the video treatment of it!

Sheesh only 33 adds. That is less than I expected. I think while it was smart to release this I don't foresee this as a hit. Miranda has lost a lot of momentum due to Little Red Wagon and I think the amount of adds on impact day indicate this run could take a while. I will say this given where she is at this week on BB she could blast into the Top 50 due to some weak completion in front of it (George going recurrent Craig Campbell Toby Keith isn't moving that fast) add the recurrent Kenny and a possible pass on Randy Houser and Aaron Watson she should get in the Top 50. Regardless I don't have a great feeling this'll be a hit.

Sheesh only 33 adds. That is less than I expected. She had 19 early adds though, for a total of 52 on impact date. That's pretty good for the 4th single of an album. I don't know if this will go all the way to #1 (I'm rooting for it to get there), but it should do at least top 20 if not top 10.

I was expecting like I don't like 60 adds on impact since well Miranda is one of the top females if not the top according to the award shows. I am expecting a run similar to All Kinds of Kinds

I am expecting a run similar to All Kinds of Kinds 52 adds by impact day is exactly what I expected. 60 vs. 52 is not a big difference and I expect this single to be a relatively fast climber for Miranda, and get her into the top 10; though a peak below the top 10 wouldn't be overly surprising considering this is a fourth single that is unlike what's on radio currently. Following a top 20 peaking "Little Red Wagon" doesn't help either in terms of momentum but Miranda is still beloved by country radio.

I mean come on she got one less than Clare Dunn a female I have heard nothing on. This is Miranda we are talking about. I just don't think with how this year has gone for Miranda she shouldn't win Female Vocalist at the CMAs give me one good reason she should win.
Anybody? I want this discussion because I'm working on the CMA nominees and while Miranda will get nominated she has no business getting the win.

I agree about being utterly over Miranda winning Female Vocalist of the Year, but 52 adds "is" the amount she got for the first week; it's just that 19 stations decided to not wait an extra week - it's the same difference. I'm just not surprised that a fourth single got did not get 60 adds this week with 79 total stations by week one. 33 this week and 52 by impact day is still very good. I wouldn't get too hung up over it, personally. Also, you may not know about Clare Dunn but much of country radio does. Clare has done an extensive radio tour the past couple months and MCA has made sure country radio knows about her and her debut single.

It's not going to matter if she deserves the win or not. The fact is that the CMAs are controlled by voting blocks and Miranda and Blake have a lot of those locked up, so while she's had a bad year thus far, I foresee her winning her 6th award this fall.

She will deffinitly win the CMA for femal vocalist and probably be in the running for single and song of the year for something bad and vocal event for something bad. Like you said she doesn't deserve it but when it comes to academy voting that doesn't matter since they always vote her in as female vocalist until some other token femal takes the place of her which should be soon hopefully but who knows. On another note I like this song a lot even if I don't like the artist generally.

Who decides whether she "deserves" it or not? (Besides the actual industry insiders who vote) I'm talking us. To me, "deserving" is one of those words that can fall under personal opinion. I think Keith Urban pretty much deserves every award that he's ever been up for (not that he EVER wins, but that's a whole nother conversation...) But I'm all but positive that no one else in here would agree with that statement.
I, for one, think Miranda does "deserve" it. She may not be the biggest country RADIO star, but the CMAs aren't about just radio airplay. She's still been the most relevant in the genre lately and I still don't see anyone being able to de-throne her. Sure, Carrie but she's been out of the spotlight for a while now due to her baby and what not -- in a few years, females will be giving Ran a run for her money.. my guess would be Kelsea Ballerini because I think she's going far (and I'm not even usually particularly fond of female artists in general), but I still see that taking some time.
Again, just my personal opinion for what it's worth..

I'd have to kindly disagree. The fact that Carrie was on maternity leave and still managed to smash at radio and got the best reviews of her career for SITW, I'd say Miranda has competition. The fact is that when the same person wins the same award, year after year, people start getting bored and question the validity of the win. Miranda is fantastic, but winning 5 consecutive years is getting to be a bit much.

I think Carrie could have won it a few years, but I would really question the validity of an awards show if someone didn't win ONLY because they won it 5 years previous. Just like a MVP award in sports, previous wins should not come into play (good or bad).

Though I don't think Miranda seems like a "5 year winner", I don't think she had too much competition any of those years. This coming year., Carrie and Reba both have a case to win it, but neither one should discount Miranda should she win again.
