I liked it. I just hope Blake leans towards this a little more and less towards "Boys Round Here".

I figured this was a lock for the second single. It's a solid choice, one of the best songs on the album, and should be a big hit for him. It'll be interesting to see when the adds date is though, they will either have to rush it out soon, or wait until January.

I actually liked "Hillbilly Bone" because of how inclusionist it was, and "Boys 'Round Here" because it was interestingly produced and wasn't trying to be anything more than fun.
So now that he's likely given both the Pistol Annies and Gwen Sebastian the only #1's of their careers, why not do the same with Ashley Monroe? Reminds me of Kenny getting a dark horse hit when he had Mac McAnally sing on "Down the Road".

I'm so excited for this song to be the next single! I adore Ashley Monroe's voice, it's got that classic/traditional country sound to it that I personally believe radio should always make room for. Nevertheless, this song is in the neotraditional vein and will be nice to hear alongside some of the more recent trends in country music that I don't care for (bro-country I'm looking at you).
Although I was disappointed that none of Ashley's songs from "Like A Rose" were radio hits, I'm so glad that Blake featured Ashley on this song, hopefully that will pay off with her solo career!

Very excited about this single choice. I've only listened to the album in full once or twice, but I love this one and I've played it a few extra times. Definitely what I would've picked and it'll just be awesome hearing Ashley Monroe's voice on the radio.

This one was always pegged as the #2 single. It was/is even on the sticker on the CD when you purchase the physical copy at a retailer that still carries CDs (I've seen it at Walgreens even).

This is the obvious and best choice for single #2. It's gonna be a huge winter smash. I can see this being one of the biggest hits of his career. It's gonna be a huge seller too; I can see this going 2x Platinum. And for the first time in a long time I'll be happy to see a Blake Shelton single dominate the charts. This is the best single for Blake in over 5 years! Blake and Ashley sound perfect together.

I understand that, I just mean that if a top star is putting out higher quality music then it'll be an example to others who do respond with their singles.

Another good single choice. Hell if we get more tracks like this flooding on radio. I might just turn on the old radio again.

I really like this song. The only issue I have is that Blake sounds a little lethargic in his vocal delivery and not because it's a slower tempo. Just kind of sounds like he has the song memorized and is lost in a daydream without realizing he's singing the song.
Still, I'll take it over the alternatives.

I'm sure radio will take this right to #1, but I'd be pretty surprised to see Blake sell two million copies of any single off this album considering his pretty weak first week album sales and the relatively low sales of the lead single. Blake's only had three multi-platinum singles before, so I doubt a pretty traditional ballad is going to be his next big seller. I can see this going Gold since it'll surely get a lot of airplay and probably even a performance on The Voice at some point, but I'm not expecting this to become a massive hit or even a multi-week #1.

Yes, this is a ballad, but it's super radio-friendly and will connect to listeners extremely well.

"Play It Again", the biggest song of 2014, hasn't even gone 2x Platinum yet, so i doubt this duet could. A couple of years ago I would agree, but singles don't sell as much as they used to these days. Sales are down everywhere, and I only see 1-2 songs reaching 2x Platinum status within a year's time frame these days. I think this song will have a chance to be a 2 week #1 though, it should absolutely smash on radio.

The only single to go 2x Platinum so far this year is "This Is How We Roll".

I really thought Just South Of Heaven would be the next single but I'm happy with Lonely Tonight being a single.. Ashley and Blake voices blend well together and this will be a huge hit

I agree. The video for this is very nicely done. I love all the aerial/skyline shots of the city with everything all lit up. Speaking of which, what city did they film this in? As a random aside, I'm kinda annoyed at all the flak Ashley Monroe is getting on social media for her outfit on the CMAs the other night. Granted, I honestly agree that her dress was way too short and in pictures it does almost look like she just wore a long shirt and no pants, but it's a shame that so many people don't seem to know who she is and this being their first impression of her, they're judging her in all the wrong ways. It irks me so.

Directed by Shaun Silva, the video opens with a sweeping shot of Los Angeles at night. Shelton is shown standing on a hilltop next to his parked pickup, sending his voice off into the dark night and hoping for a swift reply. Monroe is riding in a white limo, dressed to the nines but still, as echoed in her eyes and her aching voice, yearning for a connection that has now been broken.
