Okay, now that was definitely a well shot video. Great usage of angles and knowing when to close up on Blake and Ashley along with the use of the city lights along with the proper lighting. Great editing as well. Not too often you see the video out before the single.

I see not only this being a automatic hit once it is released to radio (radio will eat this song up and quick), but I see this being one of 2015's biggest hits especially in the February/March 2015 timeframe. I definitely see this becoming Blake's 14 consecutive #1 hit along with his 19th #1 as well as Ashley's 1st in early 2015. Mark my words, this will be another #1 hit for Blake, I can feel it already in my bones.

I can definitely see Platinum in this song's future. It could even cross over to AC.

I agree. The video for this is very nicely done. I love all the aerial/skyline shots of the city with everything all lit up. Speaking of which, what city did they film this in? As a random aside, I'm kinda annoyed at all the flak Ashley Monroe is getting on social media for her outfit on the CMAs the other night. Granted, I honestly agree that her dress was way too short and in pictures it does almost look like she just wore a long shirt and no pants, but it's a shame that so many people don't seem to know who she is and this being their first impression of her, they're judging her in all the wrong ways. It irks me so. This seems to happen a lot when non-mainstream country females perform on mainstream stages. I remember Kacey Musgraves got a lot of heat for being a stoned hot chick who can't sing when she did "Blowin' Smoke" at the CMT Awards in very short shorts (granted - that song is tough to perform live since it requires an element of apathy, and apathy doesn't translate to arena performances). She was also some random hot chick singing some bad song about marijuana when she did Merry Go Round at the Billboard Awards (I forget the site - but that comment actually came from a fairly big entertainment site. I remember it infuriating me.) It's not going to slow down this song, and it's not going to hurt Ashley Monroe's chances of breaking out. That said, I did find leg to be *very* in at this year's show - Miranda's attire was also pushing the envelope. Fair or not, I do think there's a reputation for conservatism and modesty that often gets subverted when the female country performers dress "hot."

It's already New & Active this week, with 3 stations and 269K in AI. I think it will have a huge week next week, and possibly even debut inside the top 40.

It had many adds this week. 25 on MB, with many more to come next week I'm sure.

I am completely in love with this song. This is easily his best single since he reached superstar status and maybe even my 2nd favorite single of his ever (behind the perfection that is "Austin"). Not to mention one of (in my opinion) the most talented vocalists in any genre of music, the extremely underrated Ashley Monroe, is featured on this. I may have to actually check out the rest of his new album after actually enjoying two singles in a row from him.

Dare I say, Blake Shelton has released a song I genuinely enjoy for the first time since at least 2007? I think so. Seriously though, this is probably my favorite Blake song since "The More I Drink", and perhaps I like this more than that one. "Neon Light" was alright - definitely better than most of his output to me over the past 6 years but still not a big favorite of mine. This song however is getting better with each listen. The harmonies between Blake and Ashley are very good, though I do wish Ashley had some more lines within its lyrics. Watch this peak at #2 and break his streak of #1's since I said I actually like this one. Edit: "Lonely Tonight" debuts at #46 on MB.

"Lonely Tonight" is the most added on MB this week with 52 adds. I believe jhomes87 said 60. I said over 60, so I lost. Edit: 52. I would bet money that the original number on All Access was 58 and was changed to 52.

I love this song, love the video for it, beautifully shot. I can't stop playing this song on my iPod, playing it like 5 times a day and it's blowing up BIG on my top 40 most played songs at the moment. If I had to be honest, this is probably my favorite single from Blake Shelton since 2004's "Some Beach" and I have loved his music since then but this one is one I can't stop having on repeat. It's definitely acting like a future #1 for 2015. Blake keeps on cranking the hits one by one. Regarding "Some Beach", whenever that video comes on either CMT or Great American Country, it makes me feel good by how funny the song and video is.

Published on Nov 26, 2014 OPERATION HALFTIME is a go! Our good buddy Blake Shelton wanted to help Pepsi say thanks to a few thousand military veterans and their families…so he hopped on a World War 2-era helicopter and landed it atop the deck of the USS Lexington, exactly halfway across the country. What happened after that truly brought the magic of halftime to life. For more Halftime Hype, visit www.pepsi.com/halftime. Prime-time game on Thanksgiving night with the Seattle Seahawks at San Francisco 49ers beginning at 8:30 PM ET on NBC.

Blake will be singing "Lonely Tonight" on The Voice next monday. Looks like Ashley will be there too. This should push the song into the top 5 on iTunes, where I imagine it will stay until the radio run is over for this song. This might be my favorite new one. One of my pet peeves is using drum pads instead of legitimate drumsets (I guess that's my band background bias coming through) and Neon Light's drum intro bothered me. This one, not so much. The song is right up Blake's alley vocally and I expect this one to peak higher on the Hot 100 than Neon Light.

This is starting to take off digitally. It's at #4 on the Country iTunes Chart (#47 all-genre). And with The Voice performance tonight, I see this easily getting to #1 Country and Top-10 all-genre. This is gonna be huge!

I was nervous to listen to this, but I actually really like this!!! The first song I've liked from him since "Over" "Drink on It" was the only single I liked off Red River Blue, and I liked every single off Based on a True Story… except "Sure Be Cool If You Did". I think that "Over" is exceedingly unmemorable; I honestly can't remember how the melody goes (just the same two notes over and over, right?) or most of the lyrics. And for me not to remember a recent #1 is very, very rare.

Anyways, he had like one decent song (Drink On It) but nothing I could get into personally, but I'm glad he made this!

"Drink on It" had a terrible melody and the hook was lousy, and the whole thing was so sleepy. "Over" was equally unimpressive. "Honey Bee" was the only single from that era that was any good, but it got old fast by being overplayed to death. And the last two singles from the BOATS were the only ones that left a positive impression with me (first two were bad, third was meh). But so far this era he's 2 for 2 with singles, and I actually got this album and it's easily stronger than anything he's done in awhile.

"Over" might be the most forgettable song on country radio over the past few years to me. It was so bland in the production and the melody was a total nothingness. Easily my least favorite Blake song of his career and that's saying something since I've been a harsh critic with most of his output since 2008. I can't change the station fast enough if that comes on the radio.
"Lonely Tonight" is by far my favorite song from Blake since God knows when. I think I mentioned before that it was since "The More I Drink", I liked a single of his this much. Now I think I have to go back to "Nobody But Me" or "Goodbye Time" for the last time I enjoyed a single of his this much. The vocals are really good on this song and the vocal arrangement itself is superb - though a few more lyrics for Ashley certainly wouldn't hurt.

Sure Be Cool If You Did sounds awkward to me. Anyway, Lonely Tonight will kick off Blake Shelton's 2015 on a chart topping note (his 19th overall).

See I thought the last two singles off BOATS... we're the boring ones. They both lacked any punch for me, and made me yawn every time they came on. Sure Be Cool If You Did is one of my favorite Blake Shelton songs, right up there with Honey Bee, Home, and She Wouldn't Be Gone. This song is pretty impressive too, and is going to be the most memorable duet since Remind Me IMO. It'd be nice if this song could generate a little bit of radio momentum for Ashley, but I'm not very optimistic about that happening.

This is Blake's very best single in several years and could conceivably wind up being the first single to wind up #1 for the year at both trades since 2008's 'Just Got Started Lovin' You'; this is going to be downright enormous.
Hard to believe that the downright magnificent 'Austin' will be 14 years old this spring, and remains the biggest single of his career.
Ms. Monroe is a terrific singer in her own right, and like too many other females to count, is criminally underappreciated at country radio; that collaboration she did with Ronnie Dunn a few years ago was also wonderful but sickeningly never took off as I had hoped.

I can't change the station fast enough if that comes on the radio. Luckily, it's fallen into the "haven't heard once since it fell off the charts" void for me. I understand that void has to exist because radio doesn't have room for everything ever, but why do songs I genuinely like, such as "5-1-5-0", often fall in it?! Ms. Monroe is a terrific singer in her own right, and like too many other females to count, is criminally underappreciated at country radio; that collaboration she did with Ronnie Dunn a few years ago was also wonderful but sickeningly never took off as I had hoped. I think the only reason she hasn't had a hit is because she can't stick with a single project long enough to release a single. I mean, Ten Out of Tenn, Pistol Annies, Train duet, Blake duet, solo stuff… make up your mind already!

I think you know that's not why she can't get a radio hit. I'm pretty sure none of the "singles" from Like a Rose were actually even promoted to radio at all. They might've charted in the 50s or so if they had, but I doubt anything more would've come from pushing any of them because of her being a neo-traditional female. And besides, all of those projects you listed were spread out over several years and really had no overlap at all and no real affect on anything, lmao. If anything, her having some guest features on other's songs is the only way she's even gotten her name to appear on the charts at all since her failed debut album stint.
