Does this look doable? Conservative? Overly optimistic? 1.287 (10/27) .402 (11/3) .300 (11/10) .225 (11/17) .280 (Black Friday) .200 (12/1) .215 (12/8) .245 (12/15) .300 (12/22) .135 (12/29) That's 3.589 million through the end of the year. I think Black Friday/post-black friday sales/Christmas week may actually be a little higher. If she can manage to get at least one more big hit off this album (which shouldn't be so difficult given the demand and quality of the album), instead of her usual 2-huge hits out of the gate, this album could actually end up hitting 5M. 4M is pretty much on lock.

But sadly, not all of them is Radio friendly. Oceans is one of the best track there for me in Ghost Stories, but I'm sure that unless America need a good song to drive them to sleep, Oceans won't do that well. The album as a whole is really good, but it's not full of singles. Ink is probably the only track left with any radio potential.

"Style" is a hit. "Out of the Woods" is probably a hit. She can at least release a 5th single, even if it doesn't smash - though AYHTDWS, "Bad Blood" and "Wildest Dreams" could probably do relatively well. She's performing on the AMAs, she's performing at the Thanksgiving parade, she's performing in Times Square on New Years Eve (right?), she'll probably perform on the Grammy's (and likely be nominated for Album Of The Year in 2016 and perform again). I agree, 4 million is a lock and 5 million is possible.

Not that there's no need to cater to country, she can easily go the regular singles route with a string of hits. There's not much competition from similarly-big-name artists now so there's no reason she can't have 5 hits from this as long as there isn't a big gap between singles. The third should be sent out by late January.

Ooh, this ain't looking good for Brooks. Unless either GhostTunes or physical sales come late in this tallying, it looks like the former could be in danger of losing both face and possibly investment. Nick Jonas is also faring a lot more poorly than I thought, considering "Jealous" is finally taking off with the remix. Also happy to see Foo Fighters with a 100k debut already.

Not to mention, Beyonce's album package is $27 bucks because it comes with a DVD. It won't be a big seller.
The only one that can potentially be a threat 1D's CD, but ultimately, Taylor should prevail.

Iggy has sold 401k. But will be a counted as a re-release or as a new album?
HITS said 500-600k for One Direction, but I doubt it will be that high. Maybe 450s??

Iggy's counts as a new release, so sales of The New Classic should drop to close to zero once Reclassified is out, since it has all the hits from TNC plus the new singles.

I am not sure I would call the re-releases you mentioned "huge" or #1 big if we are discussing cd sales. The Usher and Kesha ones only sold like...300K total and even Gaga's obvious exception to the rule success with Fame Monster brought her an opening week of less than 200K. Re-releases was a popular trend for awhile that didn't really sell that much unless you were Gaga.

The last Re-Release I remember doing BIG numbers was The Emancipation of Mimi Ultra Platinum Edition. It opened up with around 185K but the circumstances were different for that one.

So close!
If we assume Hits' data goes unchanged by Billboard, she'll be 1K away based on Billboard's rounded data, 2K based on the SoundScan actuals.
Maybe Billboard will overstate this week and get 1989 past 2 million.

Wow, huge jump for Buble and Idina. Were they on sale anywhere, or are customers just taking the plunge into Christmas music this week?
