Looks to be the second rock single and third overall from No Fixed Address. It's now under cool new music.

Good to hear. Has a better shot than "Get 'Em Up" does. Guessing Top 5 on Active with ease. Only other option after this is "Get 'Em Up" sadly.

Ooh, this is really good. This has the sonic production of their last few albums but could otherwise be off "Silver Side Up".

nice choice, although there's no other rocker song in the album except edge of a revolution and get 'em up, most likely the last one will get a chance later

Finally heard the actual track. I fear Nickelback may have lost a tad of that raw sound they had in "Burn It Down" "Shakin' Hands" Animals" ect..., but I do appreciate the Guitar solo gain, so it's all good.

This is a pretty good song, and the most sensible choice left for rock radio. Should do well, but with "Edge of a Revolution" dropping like a stone, it's a bit hard to say.

I'm quite glad to hear that this will hopefully be next. I just listened to the album for the first time this morning and overall, I found it very sappy. This was one of the only hard rock songs I found on there.

Top 40 on Active: 110 36 NICKELBACK Million Miles An Hour 221 14 207 0.39 Moving up very quickly without an adds date. Funny how fast (and we'll see about well) their rock singles are doing while "What Are You Waiting For?" and the album are pretty much DOA. Goes to show how they should have went with a Rock only album.

I like the song, but with the state of pop, station will steer away from Nickelback due to the name.

This will be their 9th #1 on active rock chart/bb mainstream rock chart bold. Considering "This Means War" didn't even approach #1, I'd say it's not exactly a lock. I agree that it's not going out on a major limb, but with how hated Nickelback is, I think it's legitimately something worth predicting will or won't happen.

never understood why they are hated? Even those same haters have at least one Nickelback album in their collection.

never understood why they are hated? Even those same haters have at least one Nickelback album in their collection. The most common reason people hate Nickelback is actually the most false accusation. Apparently they "lack diversity" and "all of their songs sound the same". The reality however is that Nickelback are actually one of the MOST DIVERSE bands of our time. The thing with rock music is that bands typically recycle their hits every album in order to stay relevant. Most bands only have a few base songs that they alter to make different tracks out of them. From what I've counted from most bands I've listened to entire albums of, the most diverse have pulled off about 5 or 6 different "base" songs, while some of the least diverse have as few as 2. One Direction comes to mind as one of those, they literally have TWO songs; There's the "What Makes You Beautiful" clone (upbeat dancepop track) and the "Little Things" clone (really cringeworthy and lyrically brutal adult pop ballad). Nickelback are actually more diverse (which is to say they have more "base" songs) than the other similar bands that have achieved pop success throughout the 2000s. I can count 6 or 7 base Nickelback songs, depending on how lenient you want to be, but only like 4 Matchbox Twenty base songs, 3 3 Doors Down ones (they are REALLY BAD for repetition, especially with their intros, which are identical for so many of their songs. With that being said, I'm still a big 3DD fan), 3-4 Maroon 5 ones depending on your point of view, Seether has at least 4, Staind has like 3, maybe 4-5 if you go far enough back, Foo Fighters have at least 6 or 7, probably more, Linkin Park have around 5, Fall Out Boy has 3-4, Paramore has 3 (they're another iffy one for being really repetitive), etc. The funny thing is, all of these bands are subject to far less hate than Nickelback, and considering "lack of diversity" is the biggest accusation associated with Nickelback hatred, it is quite ridiculous.

@interesting point. I've always blamed the lack of diversity of bands nowadays on the record companies. They are the ones who really always ask for a certain sound. That's why I went Indie, but even that sound is becoming rather formulatic

Because I'm curious, have you listened to the new album? I'm probably a little biased for obvious reasons, but I find it to be their most diverse album yet. I would say there are quite a bit of the songs that don't fall under the 'base songs' ("She Keeps Me Up"/"Got Me Runnin' Round", "The Hammer's Coming Down", "Sister Sin"). Yet, if you look at the reviews of the album on iTunes, half of them are saying it sounds like a typical Nickelback album. Goes to show it is just the cool thing to hate Nickelback.

To be honest with you I thought Here And Now was crap apart from the singles, and I've heard that the new album is full of sappy ballads, and I got over "What Are You Waiting For?" really fast. I'll probably get around to hearing it eventually, but I'm not expecting much. I love Curb through Dark Horse though.

I don't think the pop ones are all that bad though. If you do listen, skip "Miss You" (which I consider one of NB's worst songs of all-time) and "Got Me Runnin' Round" ("She Keeps Me Up" clone with a sh*tty Flo Rida add). My favs are this, "Sister Sin", "She Keeps Me Up", and I'm starting to get into "The Hammer's Coming Down". This is one of my least favorite Nickelback albums, but I still like it for what it's worth. They should have gone all rock though.

IMO "The Hammer's Coming Down" is probably the best song of the album but it won't be that successful as a single, something similar like Just to get high. But you never know maybe they will push it as a rock single a softer one for sure but it's more rock than pop, i can see Satellite doing well on HAC, the big bet is on She Keeps Me Up! If She Keeps Me Up do well on CHR/POP (hopefully it will become a pop single) it will help the next singles too

This one doesn't do much for me, and some of those lyrics are pretty rough, but it's not 1000HP terrible (which the title reminded me of for some reason). Kinda surprised at how quickly Active dropped the lead single though.
