Maby the top 5 or top 10 songs aren't listed. If you think this is ridiculous, just say what songs you think are number 1, 2 etc. I've listed Baby One More Time, because out of different polls in the USA it wins almost all of them, so I wonder how big people think it is all around the globe.

OMG here we go again.
I'm going with the technically right answer "Candle in the Wind"
But some Christmas and nursery rhymes/Happy Birthday are more popular than that...

modern Shakespeare to be honest, we all know it. No. I stan for Taylor and even I cannot justify this even being close to a viable answer.

The correct answer here is the "Happy Birthday" song. That's it. Lol!

What about Journey's Don't Stop Believin'? I'd probably go w/ that or maybe even the Macarena. Other top picks would be You Shook Me All Night Long (AC/DC), Let it Be (The Beatles), or I Will Always Love You (Whitney cover).
I like Baby One More Time and all, but it's nowhere near the most popular song of all time. Haha! The only song I could see MAYBE being a contender in the future of our time is I Gotta Feeling (Black Eyed Peas).

Maybe because I'm a huge Whitney fan but I feel like "I Will Always Love You" is one of the biggest hits of all time. When it was out I just remember it selling and selling. I also heard it everywhere.

I think the biggest contender of this time is "Somebody That I Used to Know" by Gotye. Most popular is also about all ages.

I could list you at least 15 songs that should've been on this poll and that could've replaced some of the songs on your poll, but since I cannot, Whitney Houston gets my vote.

From these: I Will Alwayd Love You In reality: Happy Birthday
Stop with the Britney nonsense.
Also, Candle in the Wind is just tied to a death, and people wanted to buy a piece of history, not "omg I love that song!" It could've been any song he made. And if she hadn't died, it wouldn't even be a consideration.

And if she hadn't died, it wouldn't even be a consideration. When someone uses if in an argument, it loses all meaning. The point is, all circumstances tie into a song being popular and memorable, and the facts are showing that "Candle in the Wind" is the right answer... if history is what it took to make it happen, it still counts. Even then there are other songs like Holiday/Happy Birthday type songs that aren't even on here, so it's not like this matters.

Assuming this question refers to, like...recorded music (otherwise the melody to the ABCs or something would probably win), the only one of these that I could see an argument for is I Will Always Love You. But my vote would go to either Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen, Billie Jean by Michael Jackson or pretty much any wildly popular Beatles song (Let it Be or Hey Jude are the first two that come to mind).
I would also say you need at *least* 20-30 years to make this kind of grand judgement.

It's '...Baby One More Time', you delusional, middle-class morons. The elite have always and will continue to regard it as the most influential song of the late 90s, the song that reignited public interest in female acts, and the single most-recognizable song of all time. Do the underprivileged Zimbabwean youth know your fav's debut? Because they know mine.
