I've grown to appreciate every song on the album, but some of the tracks are really great! It's amazing how one more listen can change your perception on your album... haha
Anyways, I need at least a lead single this year! I'm dying for another album.

I'm still holding out hope for a new pop album next year. I actually really loved Artpop (bar 'Jewels N Drugs' and 'Dope' *shudder*). I wouldn't get your hopes up. If anything, it'll be towards the end of the year, similar to ARTPOP's release timeframe. My guess is new Gaga very early 2016.

She needs to sit out, figure out her next direction as an artist, and write songs that aren't as pretentious as some of the ones we got on ARTPOP. She can't come back after a break with another "Applause".

I would say Artpop musically was less pretentious than she normally is which is why it is frustrating that her persona seemed to get even more pretentious. Like, most of the songs are fun, bubbly, love, party, or sex songs. Applause ended up being a big, well-liked hit so I think having a hit on that level would DEFINITELY be something pleasing for her and her team when she comes back.

Some of the lyrics on Artpop were eye-rollingly bad. The second verse to "Applause" alone. LAWD. And the lyrics to "Venus." LMAO. She needs to reign that sh*t in. But then again, her Artpop could mean anything...

I love all three of those DESPITE the lyrics, haha. The lyrics are so bad though, like some art student drop out took a few too many to the head and started free-styling some really sh*tty poetry on amateur night.

She just put out an album with Tony Bennett and did promotion for it after coming off of a tour. How much more can the woman do. Lol.

Donatella is the single most worst song she's recorded so far. You want terrible lyrics, go there. Otherwise, yeah, she did seem to go a bit out there with the lyrics. I think it was the melody and production of some of the songs that I didn't care for most though. I mean, remember when the lyrics to Born This Way leaked? Yet that song worked so well. It's still one of my favourites.

The lyrics to "Born This Way" were kinda fierce... and then that second verse. Jesus. It's like she lost all inspiration on the second verse and started making sh*t up. It's why I've always said she needs stronger collaborators. I thinks she's her own worst enemy in the studio. She just needs someone in the studio to be like "you can't be serious right now."

What did Howard say post-Monster Ball? Well that was disgusting. I've liked Howard because he seems to get honest answers out of the people he interviews but that clip was misogynistic, homophobic, and unnecessarily mean. Super off-putting.

Lady Gaga Reveals Sexual Assault to Howard Stern By Kory Grow | December 2, 2014 Lady Gaga has revealed that she wrote the song "Swine," off 2013's Artpop, as a way to express the rage and demoralization she felt after being sexually assaulted as a teenager. In an interview with Howard Stern on SiriusXM, the singer brought up the rape in the context of her performance of the song at South by Southwest, where British artist Millie Brown vomited colored paint onto Gaga while the singer rode a mechanical bull. "I want this chick to throw up on me in front of the world, so that I can tell them, 'You know what? You could never, ever degrade me as much as I degrade myself, and look how beautiful it is when I do,'" Gaga said. The singer then addressed the event that inspired the song. Although she declined to reveal the person who raped her at age 19, Gaga said that the man was 20 years her senior. "It didn't affect me as much right after as it did about four or five years later," she said. "It hit me so hard. I was so traumatized by it that I was like, 'Just keep going,' because I just had to get out of there." Gaga said that for many years, she wasn't willing to admit it had even happened. And when she did, she didn't want to share it. "I'll be damned if somebody's going to say that every creatively intelligent thing that I ever did has boiled down to one dickhead that did that to me," she said. "I'm going to take responsibility for all of my pain, looking beautiful, and all the things that I've made out of my strife." When Stern asked if she had ever confronted the assaulter, the pop star said no. "I think it would terrify me," Gaga said. "It would paralyze me. I saw him one time in a store and I was paralyzed by fear. It wasn't until I was a little bit older that I went, 'Wow, that was really messed up.'" Eventually, the singer had a revelation about the experience and decided to confront it. "All this drinking and all this nonsense, you have to go to the source," she said. "Otherwise it just won't go away." The vocalist sought mental, emotional and physical therapy to cope with the rape. Gaga had appeared on Stern ostensibly to promote her recently released album of duets with Tony Bennett, Cheek to Cheek. "Just to bring this back to Tony, can you imagine after all that time and after how I was feeling, having Tony Bennett be so loving?" she told Stern. "He's not just a father or a grandfather or an uncle, he's a friend. He's a brother. He's everything. He wants nothing from me but my talent and my friendship. All I wanted all along was somebody to say you've got a great voice and I'll do anything to help you." She also spent a major part of the interview talking about her working process with the music legend. Donatella is the single most worst song she's recorded so far. 'Donatella' isn't even the worst song on that album (I think 'Jewels N Drugs', 'Dope', the title track, and 'Mary Jane Holland' are all worse), yet alone her worst song ever.

I somewhat understand the universal hatred for Jewels and Drugs but I actually love it. The production is so tight and the transitions between each rapper's verses are great! Dope is another one I understand but I also like that one a lot too. Mary Jane Holland is one that grew on me after a while. It's filler but I like it more than G.U.Y. and Sexxx Dreams.

Fashion might be one of my favs now. Gypsy, Aura, Swine and then Fashion. It's ultimate filler!

IDK Jewels and Drugs to me would be a perfect crunk 'nB track if her enunciation during her verses was less "broadway" if anyone understands what I mean by that. It's very Jazz Hands! Fosse! and it just clashes a bit with the track.

I don't think I hate any of the songs, but if I had to choose a least favorite... I think I would choose Mary Jane Holland or Fashion, but even those are okay.
Gypsy definitely grown on me since the beginning of the year, when everyone was pushing for it as a single I didn't understand, but I do now! It's great!!!

JnD would have been a great DJWS solo song, but didn't really earn its spot on ARTPOP.
I agree with all the lyrical/pretension comments on here. She didn't "Applause" was a very post-TFM song thematically, a commentary on how she's now addicted to admiration, but it never got the point across well. When it did, it was way too literal.
I love "Venus" for what it is, but the concept and songwriting on it are exceptional and wasted on what she served lyrically.

I don't like "Donatella" and "Fashion" and "Jewels 'n Drugs" that much, other than that, I use everything from ARTPOP. The singles are among my favorite Gaga songs with "Applause" in the top 3.

How is DJ Earworm gonna release the United States of Pop 2014 mashup titled "Do What You Wanna Do" and NOT include "Do What U Want"? It's TOO easy....

I liked ARTPOP for the most part, but there's definitely a handful of garbage that I don't revisit often. That garbage (in my opinion) includes "Dope", "Jewels n' Drugs", "Aura", "MANiCURE" and "Swine". I liked the other 2/3 a lot... the standouts being "Applause", "Do What U Want", "G.U.Y" and "Mary Jane Holland".
