YOUR NEW RELEASES (UPDATE): We’re adding a twist to our tracking of consumer behavior, with audio streams now entering the mix. Thus the forecasts below offer the accustomed album-sales figure followed by a new total factoring in single sales and audio streams. It makes us editorial nerds a little dizzy, because we’re English majors, but the sales geeks have patiently explained to us that in this calculus 10 singles = one album and 1,500 audio streams = one album. In a related story, the participants in Spotify’s upcoming IPO are feeling thankful. Eminem – SHADYXV (Shady/Aftermath/Interscope) 140-150k sales; 155-165k sales + streams Beyoncé – Platinum Edition (More) EP (Columbia) 50-55k sales, 70-80k sales + streams Rick Ross (Def Jam) 65-70k sales, 70-75k sales + streams Selena Gomez (Hollywood) 15-18k sales, 30-35k sales + streams Iggy Azalea (Grand Hustle/Def Jam) 11-13k sales, 25-30k sales + streams Pitbull (Mr. 305/RCA) 24-27k sales, 35-40k sales + streams David Guetta (Parlophone) 25-28k sales, 35-40k sales + streams (11/26a)YOUR NEW RELEASES: We’re adding a twist to our tracking of consumer behavior, with audio streams now entering the mix. Beyonce slaying! That is awful for Selena Selena total is acceptable for a rushed (single just came out) greatest hits release. It's the Iggy total that's terrible.

Eminem's name has been removed from SHADYXV.
It's not considered an Eminem release.

These will definitely move up with Black Friday coming up. Depends how the projections are being formulated. I mean, you'd assume Hits Daily Double would build that spike into its estimates, right? I'd hope these projections don't assume a normal week...

So which albums are getting the heavy discount at Target on this year's Black Friday?
Those Iggy and Selena sales are shockingly low!

Interesting how last year's Top 3 albums are by artists with new albums out the same time this year as well.

Iggy Azalea (Grand Hustle/Def Jam) 11-13k sales, 25-30k sales + streams** I'm confused. For Iggy, is "11-13k" the estimate for the sales of the actual album, and "25-30k" is the estimate for additional sales from TEA? Or is the second range the total including normal album sales and TEA sales?

I think 25-30k takes into account predicted streams + sales, whereas 11-13k is just sales.

I was wondering if HITS would match the streaming component of the BB200.

I didn't know about it until last week week. Iggy's label did something stupid. They are not re-releasing her album. It's considered a new album. She has two albums out there competing against each other. That's Rick Ross' 2nd studio album this year. The first sold ~390k.

Taylor beating down all the re-releases this week. So awesome.
As for Selena Gomez, some of the public doesn't even know she has a new song out nor album out. Her next release if promoted right should do better.

Billboard is not doing streams this week. It starts next week. No, it's this tracking week. As per Billboard: "The new chart, covering sales and listening from Monday to Nov. 30, will be revealed on Billboard’s website on Dec. 4 and published in print in its Dec. 13 issue."

That's such a poor timing

See Beyonce is a weird situation to me. You can buy the full platinum edition in iTunes diitally, you can buy just the EP digitally, or you can buy the individual tracks from either. The streaming numbers are for coming from the full platinum edition. So will the streams be added to the EP or to the combined original/platinum numbers?
Selena's numbers aren't really all that low for a GH albums for an artist that only has 2 hit songs.
Iggy's label was stupid in not just rereleasing the album with the new tracks added instead of putting out a combo EP/GH collection.

That strategy with Iggy is interesting, however it might help in streaming that the album wasn't just re-released in traditional way (album+3 new songs)

Just because HDD is planning to assign them to the highest charting release doesn't necessarily mean that's how it will be on Billboard since we know HDD doesn't use SoundScan data.

Good sales for Beyoncé! Hopefully the re-release will push sales into the 2.5-3 million range.

That's actually more than I thought that Guetta would sell without a hit.
