Damn, there will be no stopping this once the Freeze is over. Could indeed have a good shot at 2015 year end top 5.

Probably my favorite ED song ever. So good. This era has made me a Stan. Between him and Sam, the UK males have been bringing it.

A Grammy performance and Valentines day could make this #1 through February.

A Grammy performance and Valentines day could make this #1 through February. The problem with the grammy's performance is that usually all performers have a boost on sales, and generally it's the big winner (and Ed is not going to be for sure) the one who benefits more. Ed has a big advantage over the top 5 on billboard right now and it's that Thinking out loud is a way newer song than any of that, and has a lot more space to big wins on airplay. If Don't was number 2 i think this will be his first number one on pop (i think Hot AC and AC will be even easier), the hot 100 is the most difficult because you have to peak in all areas at the right time, but i think it'll have a chance

The song that gets the biggest boost isn't always the winner, or even from someone who won. All some songs need is exposure. Katy Perry by no means had the best performance or the one that got the most press last year, but Dark Horse was exploding so much already that the added exposure just fueled it further. Had she not performed, she may have possibly lost the top spot to Beyonce as well that week.

After my two favorite singles he's ever released, this one absolutely makes me want to barf, but girls I know already love it so this success isn't too surprising.

How's this barely top 30 on Pop? I hear it on the radio in LA...all the time, on every single station. I figured it would be at least top 10.
It's gyrating and annoying, to be honest. My least favorite Ed song to date. :(

The song was released was released to pop less than a month ago, so it's doing pretty well.
And it's clear Ed has two types of fans the ones who like his accoustic guitar songs and the ones who prefer more urban sounds. I think this is miles better than Sing and Don't and it's obvious i'm not the only one

I really like everything he does. "Don't" was an incredible song. "Sing" was good, but it had a fast burn out rate on me. This one is fantastic.
I wonder what the next (and final?) single will be for the summer?

I think this is miles better than Sing and Don't and it's obvious i'm not the only one Kind of reminds me of John Mayer a decade ago: he had "Daughters" and "Slow Dancing In A Burning Room" for the soccer moms and "Neon" and "Believe" for the college set. A definite divide for both artists- and Ed is seeming more and more like this decade's John.

A definite divide for both artists- and Ed is seeming more and more like this decade's John. If you have to balance in the long run the soccer moms are the ones who are going to stay with you, I heard a lot of people criticise Nick Jonas for his constant cater of a gay audience, but that was an smart move in a double sense. First because it put distance of his purity ring image and second because in the long run are gay fans and moms the ones that sustain a singers career when he is not on top. Ed has a big variety of sounds, and he has the big advantage that he never was a preteen flavour. He gains fans performing in colleges. He has his teen following (a good part of them linked to the fact he collaborated with One direction) but i think most part of his audience is adult, some young, some not that young. And of course he is benefiting right now (but not as more as Sam Smith) the Adele made ballads fashionable again. The good thing is with X he can show his more hip hop leaning side that he didn't show (in the USA) with his first album

My god this song is wretched. I am either in love with his singles or I hate them-no in-between. Obviously will be a huge hit and I always enjoy when such a talented artist has success even if I hate the single.

Heh, "Sing" is the single I (still) can't stand from X; no complaints about this one whatsoever. :)

Sing was atrocious, honestly. Don't was kind of a fusion of the hip-hoppier style and the old work, but this is the one that reminds me the most of his debut.

Well, it seems Taylor Swift doesn't agree with you :)
One it was supposed to be the first single but Taylor convinced him to go with Sing.
This reminds way more the first album than his previous singles, but the truth is more on the classic ballad cathegory. I was not surprised at all when Sam Smith said this was his favourite song of 2014

I like Sing, but it's easily Ed's worst single. Thinking Out Loud is my favorite from all the singles so far (Although Don't is really good too) this really does remind me of the first album... raw real emotion, and clever beautiful lyrics. One of his best!

Sing is an awful song. Don't is good. This is even better. I like a sappy romantic ballad every now and then, and his vocals in this song are terrific.

I'm not sure if it's just me, but the line "will your mouth still remember the taste of my love" just conjures up some pretty disgusting imagery in my mind.

LOL! Only if you really want it to.
I mean, yeah I can kind of see where one might get the idea, but I can also see where one might not get that idea. :)

This is the first pop song in a while that I actually had an emotional reaction to, and I think that says a lot. This could be the All of Me of 2015.
