What are some songs with big climaxes? For example, Whitney's I Will Always Love You. It doesn't necessarily have to be a big note but I'm just looking for any big moments in a climax of a song. Any ideas?

James Wesley - "Jackson Hole" Rascal Flatts - "Skin (Sarabeth)" Tracy Lawrence - "If I Don't Make It Back" Gary Allan - "He Can't Quit Her" Blake Shelton - "The Baby" I obviously have a thing for sad climaxes.

Carrie Underwood, "Blown Away" - The entire song builds up to the final chorus & the last few "blown away"s. Godly.

Too many to list (and there are some great key-change/climax moments mentioned above), but off the top of my head:

Anberlin - "(*Fin)"
The children's choir and Stephen Christian both belt out God-bashing lyrics and the instruments go on and on in jjust an epic attack on religion and Christ; every word that comes out of his tortured soul is full of pain and agony, and then the guitar just wails and the whole thing feels so grand and epic.

PORCUPINE TREE - Arriving Somewhere but Not Here
12 minutes long. Lyrics about contemplating death and suicide, epic guitar section from Steven Wilson, atmospheric production...
"Did you imagine the final sound as a gun? Or the smashing windshield of a car?

Mariah- Honey, Emotions Carrie Underwood- Just A Dream Guns N' Roses- Coma, November Rain Led Zeppelin- Stairway To Heaven Pink, Xtina & Lil Kim- Lady Marmalade Interesting Mariah choices.... Those songs don't necessarily pop into my head when I think of a climax. Actually, she's basically climaxing the entire song on Emotions and honey may actually be ABOUT climaxing... Whoopsie :kii: We Belong Together is the Mariah song that I immediately thought of with a big climax.

Yikes @ Honey. Reading the lyric make me think: "Is she even trying to be subtle?" For some reason, I thought that Let It Go (The Idina Menzel one) has a big climax

Celine Dion "I Surrender" immediately came to mind. That massive key-change in the middle of the huge note. And the added ending just when you thought it was over. The studio version is better than the live one from her Vegas show.

Some of Whitney's ballads come to mind such as "One Moment In Time" and "The Greatest Love Of All".

Emotions is a tough one, because I think there are (arguably), several climatic moments in that one. The whistle notes alone put this one in that category for me. The climax in Honey could also be arguable, but I think the entire song (particularly from the latter haf) is a climax of sorts (not just literal, either lmao).

I'm surprised (especially since Celine was mentioned) that no one has said My Heart Will Go On.
You can put pretty much any power ballad from the 80s/early 90s into this too.

Regarding 1980s power ballads, I'm surprised nobody mentioned this, a big hit and the first thing I thought of when seeing this thread:
