Haha, mana had to go to Barcelona to get Shakira to film the video.
Not much is known about the song thus far. Hopefully it's a memorable song.

I also don't like too many songs from Maná, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I think this collaboration could go either way honestly.

Nothing like 2 dead careers coming together for one epic snoozefest.

Shakira's career is not dead, lol. Worldwide she's very successful and she can go on tour any time she wants and sell out all over the world including in the USA. She just needs better planning for her albums.

Shakira's career is not dead, lol. Worldwide she's very successful and she can go on tour any time she wants and sell out all over the world including in the USA. She just needs better planning for her albums. Technicolor Gooch likes to sensationalize things :) Shakira is in a unique situation. Like Enrique Iglesias, they can use their Latin career to fall back on when they flop in English. Its a safety net that a lot of artists don't have. Her Latin career can fuel as many English comebacks as she'd like. An example of this is SES, that album was mostly ignored in the US, yet it went on to sell 5M copies worldwide thanks to Waka Waka & Loca. She wants to be a bigger presence on US pop radio, but she doesn't need it. Like you mention, she can tour the world whenever she wants. Due to her pregnancies, she hasn't toured in awhile. When she does tour demand for her in Latin America will be sky-high.

Shakira a mother second time around with her boyfriend Gerard Piqué has mellowed down considerably with this "Mi verdad" song. So no more "Whenever Wherever" or "Waka Waka" or "Hips Don't Lie", but a more mature sound. The video is precious because it shows a very vulnerable side of Shakira in her later stages of pregnancy.
Shakira has certainly gained fresh popularity with American audiences with her appearances on the American version of "The Voice". She was intelligent, eloquent and to my mind very impressive in her comments and conduct on the show. I truly miss her and want her back on the show.
By the way, I recently I saw a beautiful tribute to Shakira's more hectic days with these delightful "Shakira boys" from England called "Out of the Blue" (made up of Oxford University students) choosing precisely these three racier songs of hers for a great a capella interpretation.

Beautiful song. The harmonies on this are stunning. And I love the video -- especially Shakira looking radiant with her baby bump.

Billboard: Mana & Shakira Make Historic Debut at No. 1 on Hot Latin Songswww.billboard.com/articles/columns/chart-beat/6479925/mana-shakira-hot-latin-songs?mobile_redirection=false'Mi Verdad' debut ends Enrique Iglesias' record 41-week run at No. 1.
Mana blasts in at No. 1 on Hot Latin Songs with "Mi Verdad," featuring Shakira, becoming the only act with three No. 1 debuts in the 28-year history of the chart. With the No. 1 arrival, Mana bumps Enrique Iglesias' "Bailando" out of the top slot (1-2) after a record 41 weeks at No. 1. Further, the song is only the 13th song to bow at No. 1 and the first to do so since the list became a hybrid tally blending airplay, sales and streaming data in October 2012. The last song to enter at No. 1 was Carlos Vives' "Volvi a Nacer," which started atop the then-airplay-only list dated Oct. 13, 2012 (the last chart week before the switch to the hybrid methodology). "Mi Verdad" is Mana's 10th No. 1 overall (extending their record for the most leaders by a group) and is the first single from the band's upcoming album (title and release date to be announced). Shakira also earns her 10th No. 1 with the song's entrance (and her first since "Loca" featuring El Cata spent a week atop the chart in 2010). The new song's No. 1 debut was powered by its launch at No. 1 on Latin Airplay (10 million in audience for the week ending Feb. 15, according to Nielsen Music), as reported in Billboard's Chart Highlights. Track sales further fueled the start, reaching 14,000 in its first week, entering at No. 1 on Latin Digital Songs, Mana's first No. 1 on the list (and Shakira's seventh). A video clip for the track, filmed last year at a wine cellar near Barcelona with a still-pregnant Shakira, has accrued over 10 million worldwide views to date (since its Feb. 9 release). Mana is scheduled to perform the new single for the first time on Univision's Premio Lo Nuestro awards show on Thursday (Feb. 19).

This song is so amazing! I'd love to go to the winery where its awesome video was filmed, just as last year I went to the place where they filmed "Empire".
