I love UTT. I'm still in awe of how well Kelly captured the sound of the Sinatra era. But it's not a classic like AIWFCIY...yet.

Mariah, obviously. BUT I will say Kelly's is the closest to having that modern classic sound since Mariah. I see it being a staple with Christmas music, well at least for myself lol. It's really a magical track. But Mariah >>>

This is what I said last year when Kelly's song first came out and everyone rated it. I give it a B. It does sound like a lesser AIWFCIY with the Specter vibe, but pretty much any X-mas song that takes that angle in modern times will be held up against that by some so it's not Kelly's fault. The biggest problem with this is the production and the mixing in particular, but considering it's a Greg Kurstin production, it's no surprise. Like pretty much all of his productions, there is a cheap compressed sound to this that makes it not live up to its potential. The way her ad-libs are mixed in at the very end works against the record as well. It's supposed to sound lively and exciting, but it sounds like a middle aged woman bopping at the kitchen table by herself. I still hold to this.
