Does anyone know of any retailers carrying their EP? I saw them perform this on Jimmy Fallon last night, and this song is wonderful as was their performance.

Does anyone know of any retailers carrying their EP? I saw them perform this on Jimmy Fallon last night, and this song is wonderful as was their performance. No retailers. Digital only. MR Which is pretty common for EP's. When their full album comes out (hopefully sometime this spring), then it'll obviously be available in stores as well as online :) Anyway, I love this song a lot, and I really love these girls and everything about them--their voices, personalities, how genuine they come across, etc. GIACS was one of my favorite songs from last year...it showed that they can be playful and spunky (I loved the little "yep, yeps" and "yeah baby"'s mixed in throughout that one, not to mention the fact that that song was just all-around awesome), and "Fly" shows that they're not a one-trick pony (not that I ever thought they were). "Fly" has a great message, it's well-written, the production is great, and their voices are just beautiful. I think I have to rank Maddie & Tae up there with Charlie Worsham, Brandy Clark, and Kip Moore as my favorite newcomers to come around in the last few years. I can't wait until their full album comes out! :)

As jhomes87 noted in the thread for "Diamond Rings and Old Barstools," this is going for adds the same day as Tim's single, which is kind of an eyebrow-raiser since both acts are on Big Machine's roster. I personally don't think there would have been anything wrong with waiting one more week to release Tim's song since he's following up a pretty big radio hit. (For comparison, Kenny Chesney's "Wild Child" goes for adds February 9 and "Til It's Gone" peaked two weeks after "Shotgun Rider," so there would only be one week's difference in the amount of time Tim and Kenny waited to release their follow-ups if Tim's add date were changed to Feb. 2.) "Fly" is currently #61 on the iTunes country chart, which is ahead of currently charting "Trailer Hitch" (#62), "Gonna Wanna Tonight" (#73), "Better Than You Left Me" (#78), "Going Out Like That" (#82), and "Don't It" (#85). This isn't a bad showing but keep in mind none of these songs is getting much particularly much airplay and songs always experience boosts on iTunes right after live TV performances, so this doesn't say much at all about how the song will sell or chart in the long-run.

Third most-added on Mediabase today, with 45 adds. Tim had 66 and Brad had 62. "Fly" also debuted at #53 on Billboard today, so it's off to a great start!

Sounds like another chart brawl between Tim, Brad & Carrie will be a foregone conclusion over the course of the next few months, and Mr. Chesney figures to join the fray relatively soon.
If this wonderful tune winds up the 'slowpoke smash of the year' a la 'Are You Gonna Kiss Me Or Not?', 'Find Out Who Your Friends Are' or 'Love Like Crazy' were in previous years, that would be downright terrific as well.

^ That image would have made a stunning single cover. I'm happy to see the nearest country station to me give such strong positive feedback.

This song grows on me more and more every time I listen to it. The production and harmonies on this are just undeniably beautiful. I didn't get the EP because I'm already convinced that I'm going to buy their full-length debut, but they need to hurry up and release it because I'm tired of waiting and I want it so bad, lol.
Really looking forward to a music video for this tune as well. Should lend itself to a very pretty visual.

Maddie & Tae where in Chicago yesterday (Jan 26th) promoting their new single "Fly", where they performed live at 35,000 feet with Southwest Air. They also surprised each passenger with a copy of their debut EP. Music Row

I'm not sure that passengers wanted to hear "you can learn to fly on the way down," but this is really neat.

With David Nail and Kenny Chesney's "Til It's Gone" going recurrent. We welcome "Fly" to the top 50 on Mediabase this week :)

Heard this on the radio last night for the first time and I almost couldn't believe it. There's nothing better than hearing a new song on the radio when it's not even a hit yet.

Okay, this one isn't grabbing me at all.
Why is the first verse in third person about a female, yet the rest of the song is in second person? Why does it give up on narrative entirely in the second verse? And why does the chorus have "we" in it? Who are "we" in this context? The two people in this song are apparently Dirty Dress Woman and Narrator, the latter of whom does not seem to be in any sort of distress. What does it mean that you can't fly on your way down? Dirty Dress Woman sounds like she's already on her way down.
In short, the song seems like a bundle of "you go girl" clichés that has been beaten to death ages ago, with too little narrative for me to care. Warmed over Martina minus the belting.

I think this is what annoys me about it too. It is a lyrical jumble. "Girl In A Country Song" was lyrical perfection. This one deals in abstractions that I think the average country listener won't get. It is already facing more of an uphill battle and resistance than GICS. But hey, "keep on climbing though the ground might shake!" MR

The more I hear this song, the more convinced I am that it is going to have a tough time on the charts. While I like the song well enough, I just don't see this being catchy enough for country radio (current country radio). There's nothing really special about it that makes it memorable for me. I think top 20 might be the only realistic goal for this, as I think anything top 10 bound would be just too much to ask of this song and duo, although I hope that I'm not right on this one.

Beautiful video. Beautiful song. Interesting concept with the chairs on the wall. I just watched the Southwest performance. I would have been stoked to have them on my flight.
