He's very good and certainly a traditional-leaning guy. I love the songs I've had (One called "Clean Up On Aisle 5" is a stone-cold classic to be, if only it ever had a chance to be a real hit). What Mo does is so different than the mainstream right now that I don't know if he can score a hit but he could be the guy the traditionalist fans have been looking for.

Yeah, agreed with all the above; it's about time Curb is finally releasing some Mo!

I rolled my eyes when i saw the title, mostly because i have no idea who this guy is. However, the way y'all are talking about him makes me pretty excited for this song and this guy. But Curb? Yikes....

Yikes.... Here's a better example for you Zack. I'm actually not a fan of Curb's single choice; to me Mo is more of a Skip Ewing style of singer-songwriter and I'd like for Curb to go in that direction with him. For only being 22 or 23, he's super talented and has a lot of promise (PLUS, he's actually Country.... go figure)

Eh...there's something about the idea of pushing what "country" is that isn't appealing to me with this song. IDK...I feel like while I might be able to get into a different song running with the concept, with this one I'm not quite feeling it. Maybe I'll step back and give it a listen on another day, I might change my mind about this.
I almost...want to get into this anyway though? Actually really like his voice on this, as well as the melody. Makes me wonder if I'll change my mind on this song, or if it'll be another song from this guy that I'll really get into instead.

I don't love "Country" but I love, "Clean Up On Aisle Five." In fact, if someone wants to PM what the song is about (I am confused) that would be so nice so I don't derail this thread. I think he could be a star if he is this young and talented in his song writing already.

Shew. Mo is just eat up with talent. I've been following him for awhile now but just stumbled over "Just A Dog". I'm not trying to derail the thread by any means but this song left me a blubbering mess. Not a little choked up , not a little moist , but a blubbering double streaming mess. www.youtube.com/watch?v=bYXh4zc82c0

Thanks for sharing that gurustu ! He has an incredible voice. Looking forward to hearing more from him, but knowing Curb i'll hear Tim McGraw's next greatest hits before an album from Mo

I know the fact Mo is a Curb recording artist can be disheartening, but he's a more traditional kind of artist (he sounds like he was born about 15-20 years too late). While the radio promotion of Curb is not what it once was (and they weren't exactly world beaters before), maybe the fact Mo is on Curb might be a good thing in terms of being this kind of artist. He may not get much traction with radio but perhaps he'll have a stable home for making the kind of country music he wants to, which judging some of these songs is quite good.

My hope is he gains traction enough to be like Bradley Gaskin with "Mr Bartender". Hit top 30 or so. The major hope Mo seems to have is country is really starting to gravitate away, as a whole, from Bro country. It may never disappear but I can't remember a time in the last 5 years where I have a solid chance to flip through any of the 4 country channels on my way to work and encounter a more traditional sound on the radio. Not at this level but it's nice to see. I do think this has a chance to make a top 40 dent on country radio.

Wow, this guy can really, really sing. He really sounds a whole helluva lot like Joe Nichols to me, which is definitely a good thing. I love this song, too. Very smooth vocal, solid melody and lyrics, and the production on this is fantastic. Him being on Curb has me wary he'll ever make it big like he oughta, but man, he really has a lot of talent here and this is exactly the kind of country music I'd love to hear when I have the radio on. Fingers crossed that something goes right with this guy.

Eh...there's something about the idea of pushing what "country" is that isn't appealing to me with this song. It doesn't seem to me that he's trying to say "what country is" though. Instead, the lyrics read more like "country can be [this], country can be [that], country can be [whatever]"...the only thing he says it specifically is is a "place in your heart". Anyway, I really like this one. It's definitely among the better songs I've heard in the last couple of years. The production is exquisite and his voice is incredible. I really like the lyrics too--so vivid and picturesque, and yet I can really relate to them.

Kinda "meh" on the song ... but holy crap - what a great country voice. Wait until you hear "Clean Up On Aisle 5," a great country ballad or his dog song "It's Just A Dog, Right?" Even "Come Do A Little Life" is fantastic. He's got talent to be a breakout star. Just hope the folks radio are ready to make do on their promises to be less "bro" or "party," though it seems they are often more lipservice than anything.

After originally hoping this song would hit top 40 I am changing my prediction. This song has top 5 written on it. Tony Brown did a great job of mixing his old school sound with modern production. This is the most "country" song I have heard promoted to mainstream radio since "A little more country than that" by Easton Corbin. Curb might be his nemesis but this song, production and his style/looks/likeability makes this seem like it could be a very great debut. I am beyond impressed.

Yeah , I had to put down my ten year old German Shepherd this past spring , and this song just wrecked me last week when I first heard it. You guys weren't kidding. I was at lunch in the breakroom at work and I gave it a listen. I tried not to but I was crying by the end of that song. Mo's going to do amazing things wether radio plays him or not. I've loved all the originals I've heard from him and I can only hope Curb will push him harder than they've pushed anybody in a while.

You also have to keep in mind that this doesn't have an add date yet. It was sent to radio by Curb last week with a likely add date coming after the new year. I think Curb is trying to position Mo with the best opportunity to succeed possible (they add him in their season greetings add in Aircheck introducing him as well). But trying and actually succeeding are two incredibly different things unfortunately. Curb just has not been up to snuff in the radio promotion department for some time now, other than Lee Brice. I mean the Lee Brice situation isn't even an accurate one since Lee's name recognition has gotten big enough to really benefit him with radio anyway.
I still see Mo sticking around for a while and making the music he wants to but I really need to see this have some good weeks at radio before I become optimistic about this songs chances.

I'm sold. These songs are incredible. I've been on Youtube the last hour listening to his stuff and bought "Country" on ITunes. "Just A Dog" killed me. That's the best dog song I've ever heard!
Here is a video about Mo if you want to know him better. Seems like a great guy! And traditional with a deep voice...you know I love that!

"Country" was written by Mr. Pitney along with Bobby Tomberlin and the one and only Bill Anderson.

Ok if "Just A Dog" made us cry, get a load of this song..."Love You More" is about his 11 year old cousin who died of cancer. This man is real Country music. Real stories. Real life. He could change the industry. It has to happen. His music is a big FU to most everything that's been on radio this decade. Mo has reminded me why I fell in love with Country in the first place and there is only an artist or 2 I could say that about in the last several years. This song is killer.
