Yeah I think Curb is in it for the long haul with this one, I see top 20 in it's future honestly even if it takes 40 weeks. With Lee looking like he'll have a slow run with his current single there's no way Curb will let go of a song showing some signs of life. Billboard messed up on this one. Eh, top 20 is going to really take some serious effort to happen, so I personally don't see it but a top 30 peak is possible, and that's when Curb will release his album according to Mo. Curb is definitely in the long haul though and are prepared to throw everything but the kitchen sink to squeeze every last ounce of life from "Country." I too expect a re-entry for Mo on Billboard.

Ugh @ Billboard sending this recurrent. I hope it re-enters the chart asap and Mo can continue to climb into at least Top 30. Whatever will get the album released will make me happy. <3

I think Mo will sneak back in this week. It could be close however. He had a great update, today but he's been losing little by little for the rest of the week so he needs to keep gaining otherwise Mo could still be on the outside. If Mo does re-enter expect it below Jana Kramer but ahead of Hunter Hayes, Drake White and Austin Webb.

Really hoping this pulls a "Carolina", but that's probably asking too much.

Not sure if anyone knew, but Mo has new song on iTunes called " Come and Get A Life". It's really good, I actually like it better than the 2 songs we've heard from him. It's got a great melody
Why doesn't Curb just release an EP already ? It would definitely get the buzz out. Especially since his full album is already done
Side note, still irritated iTunes never updates the new music page on country. Had to search for Ronnie Dunn and Jerrold niemann new single. And this one. I Strongly thinks this hurts sales. People check the new music section every week. If they aren't on pulse they may not even kno about the song

That is a good new one.
If only the future of country was more Mo Pitney, Eric Paslay, and Kacey Musgraves and less Sam Hunt, Thomas Rhett, and Kelsea Ballerini...we'd be in for a great future of music.
I can't imagine 10 years from now talking about the history of country music looking at classics like "Write This Down", "The Dance", "Suds in the Bucket", "Drive (For Daddy Gene", "Where the Green Grass Grows" and "Mud on the Tires" in the same breath as "House Party", "Make Me Wanna", "Dibs", "Kick the Dust Up" and "Kiss You in the Morning".

They still have Young and in Love up as Hunter's "single" when he already released Someday Girl and will likely release a new song this Friday.

I'll take the first group if I can switch Eric Paslay out for Kelsea. "Song About a Girl" is worse than anything Sam Hunt has put out (I actually like SH even if he isn't really country fwiw). "She Don't Love You" is the only song of his thus far that was good, but unfortunately, it had Eric Paslay's voice singing it, so even that wasn't very good. Mo Pitney, Kacey Musgraves, and Kelsea Ballerini are all insanely talented though, even if Kelsea's style isn't neo-traditional like the other two. <3

I'm not feeling overly optimistic about "Country" lately. First of all, I just mentioned KKGO in the "Southern Style" thread but they are a factor with this song as well. That station has cut Mo's spins in half this week and that has resulted in a drop of about 500k in total audience. "Country" has lost 33 spins and 300k in audience so far this week and Mo's actually lost roughly 500k in total audience the past four and a half weeks on MB. It's interesting that even though the spin leaders for this song are big supporters of "Country" (over 25 spins and a dozen stations), none of them outside of Houston are big factors in net audience.
This week marks week #25 on the Billboard Airplay chart (would be 26 if they hadn't sent it recurrent the week before last). I have some faith in Curb's ability to stick with singles for a very long time but the past couple weekly updates leave me weary that this one might not go much higher.

Not to mention has to re-bullet otherwise Mo is done. If Mo does stay he should though move up more spots though to I'd imagine #33. As Hunter Hayes will pass as he's seen a decent week. But Canaan, Blake and Mickey are locks. I do get the sense Curb sees that Top 30 is just around the corner soon but Mo has to start gaining and fast otherwise he'll just stay flat and leave.

"Country" lost 83 spins and nearly 400k in audience this week, but nearly all of that audience lost was due to KKBQ in Houston cutting Mo's spins in half. Unfortunately this song has been gradually losing audience the past couple weeks and if KKBQ didn't decrease Mo's spins, this song would have stayed flat anyway.
I just can't see Mo making it much higher than what he's already done and he could very well be sent recurrent (again) on Billboard Airplay tomorrow.

Assuming that Billboard follows their rules here, "Country" will automatically go recurrent tomorrow, unless it can somehow get its bullet back. Mo got a grace week on Monday. If he can't re-bullet, he'll be gone.

I'm a little gun shy assuming anything with Billboard lately, lol. Yes, this should be pulled from the Airplay chart tomorrow, unless Curb can pull a small miracle today.

The only reason I'm a little unsure here is because Billboard already (incorrectly) sent Mo recurrent once, only to allow him back on right after that. They might want to give this one a double grace week (to make sure it's done this time), even though it's "against" their rules to allow back-to-back bullet-less weeks for songs that are 21+ weeks old. They've been overly generous with Mickey Guyton and Aaron Watson in recent weeks, although technically Mickey was always able to re-bullet following a grace week.

This looking to be about done is really sad to see. Praying for a miracle that it can stay afloat and Curb can get this into the Top 30. The promise of them potentially releasing his album if it does so really has me wanting to see it happen for Mo.

Yes, it would only make sense to have Billboard keep Mo on this week when he theoretically should go recurrent, after "sending" him recurrent when he should "not" have been a few weeks ago, lol. Ha, called it. I'm thinking that they didn't hold last week against him, and that this week is actually his grace week. If you go back and look at the July 20th Billboard chart, Mo was listed without a bullet despite a gain of 110 spins for the week. Now, he technically did lose audience, but it was only 64k. I'm sure they are being cautious here, but it also wouldn't surprise me if Mo was actually supposed to have a bullet last week. Billboard does have this clause in their rule about awarding bullets: "A song will also receive a bullet if its percentage loss in audience does not exceed the percentage of monitored station downtime for the format." Mo's 64k loss was only 1.3% of his total audience last week (I think -- but maybe I'm wrong. I'm bad with math), so it's entirely possible that his loss didn't actually exceed the percentage of monitored downtime last week. If the percentage of monitored station downtime (for the Billboard panel) was 1.35% or greater, then Mo should have been awarded a bullet last week. But his position (#35) wasn't black-circled, which indicates the loss of a bullet. Again, though, that might have been incorrect...IF Mo's percentage audience loss was really close to the percentage of monitored station downtime, that is. In any case, a 64k loss is really small, and usually if a song loses such a small amount but still gains some spins, it's able to keep its bullet. I think Mo was probably supposed to have a bullet last week, but again, as we both said, it could also be that Billboard just wanted to be 100% sure here, since they already had to re-enter this one. After all, Mo did score another 2 adds on Mediabase today (chances are those stations are on the Billboard panel as well).

Really hate that this is losing spins. I wouldn't really say that it's losing spins -- although it's not really gaining any either. Mo had a rough week last week, but he's at least leveled off a bit this week, and I think this one will hang in there. Since Monday Mo has actually gained about 0.2 million in audience on Mediabase, so I'm thinking he'll be able to re-bullet on the next Billboard chart. He's definitely hit a bit of a hiccup here, but "Country" did pick up a couple of new stations on Monday, and if it can pick up another handful of adds in the coming weeks, I believe it'll have a decent chance of making the top 30.

If last year's chart run for I Got A Car was an easy choice for the most infuriating chart run of 2014, this superb tune is certainly a strong candidate for the 2015 choice.

Is there any word on when the album will be out? Or does that depend on how this single does?
