A new song from Hysteria (Love Strikes) will be available on iTunes this coming Friday.

"Love Strikes" is the first track that's clicked for me from "Hysteria."
The purity of her voice with the piano is just gorgeous. :'(
I'm relieved she's learned to let her voice take center stage, instead of using typical Pop production.

I like "Love Strikes" for her vocals. The song itself isn't remarkable but her voice sounds excellent.
Ugh at "Stranger Than Fiction" actually being a single... Much disappoint.

she sounds lifeless on most of them, like bored BUT break & round your little finger sound good AND appetite sounds interesting
not too excited bout this album... more so considering she discredited her previous albums (being unbroken a truly masterpiece)

First off, "Love Strikes" has grown on me enormously. Her voice is absolutely incredible on that track.
And these clips are giving me life. I'm excited for the uptempos a lot ("Damage Control" and "Don't Need Love" particularly). "Appetite" does not sound like a track I would have expected from her but I'm excited for it too. And the first 3 tracks sound very commercial so maybe there's another single here that could actually do something for her (wishful thinking).
All in all, this sounds like the album we should have gotten instead of the uneven mess that was Unbroken.

I think I heard a couple R&B-leaning, sexy bops there that I might be using. :O Liked the clips overall.

What a weird collection of styles. Many of them sound interesting, though.
I think Disney should ask Kat to be the voice of their next princess. She seems perfect for that.

I really liked track 1 "Hysteria", "Appetite" "Lick My Lips" and "Only One". There were a couple other tracks that I thought were pretty good as well. This cd sounds like it's going to be pretty good.

They really should've had this streaming somewhere this week since virtually no one knows it's coming out. I'll be shocked if she even charts top-200.

I thought this came out last Friday, but I guess all the 9/11 releases I was anticipating got pushed back. Hope this does well for her, but I wonder if she has any promo lined up?

I'm pretty sure there's not really any promo lined up. She said she was hoping she'd promote it while promoting Scorpion during this season. Here's hoping it just can build from first week on. It's an indie release and she pretty much said it's just for the fans so oh well. At least the album sounds like it's gonna deliver, which will make all of this even more bittersweet. Anyways, some new pics: At the Creative Arts Emmys And in The Wrap Fall TV Preview issue: She's unreal, damn.

It's just a waste that she gets subpar material and then indie releases with no promo. This chick has everything to be a superstar. Oh well. Does she know Nicole Scherzinger? You would think they'd be BFFs

You would think they'd be BFFs I love Kat, but subpar material is far from her only issue. This album is a huge mesh of different styles, and therefore, it feels like they just threw a bunch of songs together and called it a day. You have to have more than "what it takes" to stand out; Katharine always seems (to me), like she lacks direction, or still doesn't know who she is as an artist after all this time. A strong/memorable image is one of the best weapons an artist can have, but Katharine has always been so all over the place musically, and I don't think it's done her any favors. Plus, she's made it 100% clear her main focus is acting, which is why it would (kinda) make sense if she never bothered to get her image together. Anyway, I'm looking forward to this album, and I'll probably buy it as well.

Despite having the looks and the talent, girl could never really figured out who she is as an artist. She already talked about that not too long ago. Getting dropped by RCA so early on really put a dent on her aspirations as a musician. Still, acting has always been her main passion so I'm glad things seem to be working out for her on that front, anyways. It's such a shame that her talent will go down as unnoticed.

Only had time to listen to the first 3 tracks just now and damn they're good. "Hysteria" is a better version of "Lick My Lips" (which is a track I love, for what it's worth), and "Feather" totally should have been a single over "Stranger Than Fiction." I like the dubstep-lite on "Burn" too. Ahhh I can't wait to finish listening.
On another note re: her future music career, it's unfortunate she seems to have no specific direction she wants to go in because it makes her seem like she has a lack of drive. She has no specific goal here or a specific sound that she really loves. She just seems to love performing and happens to have a fantastic voice. Those two things are great, but I'm not at all surprised that she never blew up in the mainstream. She's never been one to be provocative and I think that may have held her back some.
ETA: I finished listening. I am in awe of how good this album turned out. It's a testament to her vocal abilities, the talents of the producers she selected, and the wide range of styles she was willing to try. The R&B-leaning tracks and the couple dubsteppy ones stood out to me most on first listen, but I'm sure I'll be listening about 100 more times in the next week so stay tuned. ;)
