Let's throw out a conspiracy theory just for the heck of it (I don't think it's actually true, but wouldn't it be crazy if it was?) Mediabase is a division of iHeartMedia Inc (formerly Clear Channel). Reba is on a Cumulus-affiliated label. So maybe iHeartMedia wanted to keep Toby and Lady A on the published Mediabase chart for one more week to keep Reba out of the Mediabase top 40, and thus out of the top 40 countdown shows...meaning that iHeartMedia stations won't have to play this one yet. Then by next Sunday, Reba will have been passed by Florida Georgia Line and possibly a couple other newer songs as well. So maybe it's a plot by iHeartMedia to keep Reba out of the top 40 and thus off the countdown shows? Again, I don't think it's true, but Clear Channel's ownership of Mediabase is another reason why I've never cared for the MB charts. I personally don't think that's true either (I hate conspiracy theories). Reba's song just is not getting enough stations picking it up so there's next to no shot of it going much higher at radio. I agree about the iHeartMedia and CBS stations not being overly enthusiastic about playing this on the countdown shows but I think anyone who believes in that theory is giving the folks at MB and iHeartMedia a little too much credit for thinking that far ahead.

Reba's had a really good this week compared to last week. She's had a spin increase of 139 on mediabase and an audience increase of 1.07...last week was a much different story. Im curious to see if she picks up a few adds this week. I've heard good things about their event at Starstruck studio during CRS. Im hoping for another good week

I found this tweet to be rather interesting last week. Everyone knew that a release done by the Nash Icon label wouldn't get a fair shake, even if it absolutely deserves it, but it's still really disappointing to once again see the politics of radio at play here.

I personally don't think that's true either (I hate conspiracy theories). I hate conspiracy theories too...until it turns out that one of them is true! But that's not the case here. Lady A and Toby were indeed removed from the Mediabase chart on AllAccess with this morning's update, so Reba did indeed finish the week at #40 on the published chart...which means that "Going Out Like That" should pick up top 40 countdown spins this coming Saturday/Sunday. I'm not necessarily expecting Clear Channel and CBS stations to edit Reba's song out of the countdown, but I wouldn't be totally shell-shocked if they did. I'll say there's only about a 10% chance of that happening, though (of any Clear Channel stations that carry Bob Kingsley's or Kix Brooks' countdown editing Reba out of the #40 spot and perhaps instead playing FGL's "Sippin' On Fire" which checked in at #41). Again, doubting it, but I wouldn't put anything past corporate country radio. This is a unique situation. It's somewhat similar to how Mediabase and Billboard never acknowledge each other. Clear Channel and Cumulus don't really talk about each other either, and given Clear Channel's overall response to Reba's new song (virtually none of their stations have added it), it's safe to assume that Reba's affiliation with Cumulus is the reason.

Do they use the weekly update to determine the songs they play? Looking at the chart this morning last weeks numbers do not match the Weekly Update that was sent out last monday. The numbers that were up last evening match the weekly update numbers. So I'm thinking the update tonight will say she's at #42 and I don't think she'll be put on the Top 40 countdowns.

No. They use the Sunday night update; however, AllAccess did not update correctly last night. But if you go there now, to the Mediabase page, and click on "published chart", that is what the official published Mediabase chart was for March 1 (yesterday). So Reba will be at #40 in the published MB chart tonight in Country Aircheck Weekly.

Perhaps the folks at MB read our discussion and saw we were in fact on to them...But I still don't believe in conspiracy theories. ;)
Nice to see MB did the correct thing and followed through with their rules, sending "Drunk Americans" and "Freestyle" recurrent.

Reba shot the video 2 weeks ago. Anybody have any idea when this might premier? I'm hopeful this has a lot of life in it still even though it's slowly pacing along. There has been very little promotion so far but I'm sure it's about to gear up as it gets closer to the album release. We know she'll be performing at the ACM's. I think she'll perform on American Idol at some point too since Borschetta will be on there as a mentor. I'm hoping she'll perform on Dancing with the Stars. The new season starts sometime this month. I've seen Reba's new music mentioned on the Today Show a couple of times. That's a possibility. I saw on facebook that there were people from at least two different Clear Channel stations at Reba's listening party last week. Maybe this will result in more adds this week. Do numbers for the adds come out today?

As expected (maybe), Fancy does NOT enter the mongrel chart this week. Fancy fell out of the top 20 country streaming songs this week.

Awesome! She's having another good week too, and that's even before airplay from the countdown spins kicks in.

Maybe there's some light at the end of the tunnel. The light being the top 10.
I assume she'll sing this on the Nashville special on the 25th and hopefully the ACMs.

She is doing something at the ACMs, whether she is performing or not I don't believe is out yet.

I don't think I've heard this a single time on the radio yet which has really surprised me. If they are playing it, I have been consistently missing it. I just assumed radio would be all up on this one. It's Reba and it's radio friendly. The song did end up growing on me. It's not one of her best, but it is pretty good. I actually love the chorus.

If you normally listen to a iHeartMedia or CBS station then I think I found the culprit. Radio hasn't jumped all over this because Reba's affiliated with Cumulus now (Nash Icon), so most iHeartMedia and CBS stations are not going to support anything promoted by the opposing corporation. Most of Reba's heavy spinners are Cumulus stations.

Reba performed this live at the Strawberry Festival in Florida last night. I got a video (see below). This is either the first or second time she's performed it in concert. They haven't quite yet got the sound mixed properly for the song in a live setting.
I've seen her in concert probably 20 times. I'm not sure if this show was an aberration or not (until I see her again) but I thought I heard her voice starting to be affected by age. I didn't notice this in either the Reba/Strait shows (which I saw twice) or the All The Women I Am tour. Obviously, her voice has changed over the years and she's made changes to her performance to compensate but I haven't heard what I'm talking about here before. She still sounds great but there were little things in her voice...if you've noticed this in older artists before, you know what I mean. If you haven't seen her live yet, I suggest you do so ASAP to get the full effect of her performance. Aside from a couple of songs that were not released as singles ("Why Not Tonight" from Tremors & "Nothing To Lose" to showcase the band), her set list consisted of mostly #1 hits but nothing was performed that didn't at least make the top 10. Probably the worst-performing song she performed was "Fancy", which, as we all know, peaked at #8.

I was at that show last night, too. I agree that the sound mixing needed a little work on GOLT. Reba and her band were incredible, though.

Up another million in AI, plus one position to #35 on Billboard. That makes it a bigger hit than "Sweet Music Man". The next single to pass is "You're Gonna Be", which peaked at #33.

So...was she even on TODAY today? I watched for the two hours that were stated and she wasn't on. What happened? Found an interesting article from tasteofcountry.com that said she shared an early listen from some of "Love Somebody", but the link didn't work.

She got moved to tomorrow I believe (something about weather or something I could easily be making up). If I remember correctly it should be tomorrow (sneak peak of the video? The full video? Anything! lol)
