HITS was on some s**t last week. 165k? Wait till Target get their restock. Better than Billboard saying 160K on Friday night. At least Hits adjusted its estimates from 160K to 170K late in the week to reflect the better-than-anticipated hold-up. The big error this week, to me, involves Frozen. Hits didn't even have it listed in its Top 15 projections (thus saying it would do < 55K), and it turns out to go Top 10 with 74k and thus makes it a bit more difficult for Taylor to overtake it (I still think she will). Still, that's an error of at least 35% and one relevant to the year-end race. Also - if Hits can get these sales numbers early Tuesday morning (on a holiday week), why does it usually wait until Tuesday afternoon before posting?

The same reason Billboard waits until Wednesday morning... I'm asking what that reason is. I'm not sure why there would be any difference from a page view standpoint if people knew to check Hits earlier in the day rather than Tuesday at 5. (And at least with Billboard - there's some historical analysis/fact-checking, albeit often flawed, associated with the Wednesday report. Hits is just posting a chart.)

^Exactly.
I would think SoundScan spends Mon/Tue going over the sales looking for cheating.

So with CUX1 sitting at ~175k, all she'll have to do is sell another 75k (which she'll easily do within the next couple of weeks), Sony can slap a Gold certification on that bad boy, and this little project can be labeled a homerun.

ONE year ago for reference: YOUR HOLIDAY TOP 25: 2. Garth Brooks (Pearl) 200k I've never heard of this guy outside of Pulse (I live in Europe) so when he released his latest comeback album I was confused since I feel like I've seen him chart multiple times in recent years. lol Excellent numbers for Nicki. Hoping for longevity.

Impressive sales for Pentatonix, who would have thought that a breakout star from an NBC singing contest will come from The Sing Off and not The Voice
Frozen is back!
I still miss the Holiday #1 that can go 400-500k like Noel or Susan Boyle but at least 1989 continues to do great

^If only Pentatonix make a timely TV appearance in the likes of Oprah, then they would easily scan around 350-400k, that's how Noel sell that much, maybe next year? I think Holiday albums are still doing well even with the downward spiral of album sales. By the way, Nicki is totally exceeding everyone's expectation with the numbers...

Let me share this bit about him: 6 diamond certified albums and the biggest selling artist of the Soundscan era. Massive.
