She's performing on SNL on April 4th. Nice! I wonder what her second song will be.

She should consider doing a ballad for her second song, at least to show people she's more than just the Dance Pop she's been releasing. If she doesn't have new material ready, how about "Almost Said It" or "Your Heart is a Muscle"?

She said in an interview on the Billboard Pop Shop Podcast that she'd written like 200 songs, lmao, so I'm sure she'll do another new one.

I'm suuuuuuure it'll be a new track for song #2. At least it better be. "Call Me Maybe" should be nowhere in sight unless she participates in a skit that mentions it.

All signs are pointing at this being #1 in the UK when it's finally released.

At least if this goes No. 1 in the UK the album will be guaranteed! I'm nervous about the performance over here, but if it does well in other markets, I'll have less concern over her being shelved.

^^ I shouldn't say the album will be guaranteed, but at least it's more likely to happen.

Any San Diego, CA stations? I'd love to hear something else here on the radio besides "Good Time" ("Call Me Maybe" hardly gets airplay anymore). KLLY added it (I have no idea how close that is), but otherwise, here's the list of adds: {3/24 IRLY Adds}KBEA-FM KCDU-FM KFRH-FM KKPN-FM KLCA-FM KLJT-FM KLLY-FM KRCK-FM KSAS-FM KSXY-FM KUDD-FM KVLY-FM KZBD-FM S001-FM WAYV-FM WDJQ-FM WFKS-FM WFLY-FM WKZL-FM WNCI-FM WPLW-FM WVHT-FM WXXX-FM WXYK-FM WXZO-FM WYOY-FM Nope, that station is in Bakersfield, CA. Pop stations (all iHeardRadio except for one) over here are XHITZ-FM (Z90.3), KHTS-FM (Channel 93.3), KMYI-FM (Star 94.1) and KEGY-FM (Energy 103.7).

I believe KMYI is actually Hot AC. The rest are correct though. -- On the broader topic, there's still a huge a part of me that thinks there is too much power behind this for it to fail, but nothing about its current performance is encouraging. And it's definitely sobering that there weren't really any major market takers on impact day. The late add date makes it clear Interscope didn't expect radio to IMMEDIATELY jump on this, but it's had three weeks to build momentum - and hasn't really done so.

I'm surprised this hasn't received more adds. Sobering for her and her camp indeed.
I've yet to hear it on terrestrial or XM. Is XM playing it at all? "Somebody", "Honey I'm Good" and "Talking Body" seem to be on constantly.

You can see Hits 1's history on it here - no more than a few spins a week, from the looks of things. (I presume you aren't including Radio Disney when discussing XM - they're apparently spinning it too.)

She should've been booked on SNL 3yrs. ago. What was the holdup? Lorne's gotta go--the show needs fresh production blood.

Shoot, I didn't realize Carly hasn't been on SNL yet. That probably makes there a slight chance she could still perform "Call Me Maybe" as her second song...

LOL. Carly Rae not being on SNL for "Call Me Maybe" is entirely due to the nuances of how TV seasons work.
Their April and May 2012 musical guests:
April 7 - One Direction; no explanation needed. April 14 - Gotye; STIUTK was already much bigger than CMM yet was. May 5 - Rihanna; likely due to higher profile (Chris Brown collabs come to mind). May 12 - Usher; in advance of Looking 4 Myself. May 19 - Mick Jagger (who also hosted), with Arcade Fire, Foo Fighters, Jeff Beck also assisting at different times.
And by the time the next season starts in late September, no way are you gonna have her on with everyone sick to death of the song.
-----
As to this song, I too am beginning to wonder how this still isn't Top 50 yet.

Tried requesting this on one of the stations here (KHTS-FM) this morning and they said they had the song and would try to get it on very soon. It's been about half an hour and they haven't played it yet though.

Once they switched over to a DJ Dance Mix hour after the morning show, I changed stations.

It's been about half an hour and they haven't played it yet though. This is unfortunately not how requesting works. When someone calls in to make a request, the station will keep tabs on what you requested, and they will later use that information to help form their playlists. Most stations, especially top 40 stations, have pre-set playlists for the day that they have little to no deviance from. If you called in to make a request, and the song was played shortly after, you most likely just got lucky, and that song was about to play anyway. There are some exceptions, such as Open House Party, or random request hours that some stations may have, but things like that are few and far between and have their own special rules regarding requests.

It's been about hallf an hour and they haven't pllayed it yet though. This is unfortunatelly not how requesting works. When someone calllls in to make a request, the station willll keep tabs on what you requested, and they willll llater use that information to hellp form their pllayllists. Most stations, especialllly top 40 stations, have pre-set pllayllists for the day that they have llittlle to no deviance from. If you calllled in to make a request, and the song was pllayed shortlly after, you most llikelly just got llucky, and that song was about to pllay anyway. Thanks for the clarification on "radio requests"! Man, was it always like that? I could've swore back in the 90s you could call up any station and get a song played (even non-single tracks). But yeah, I hope the station considers adding it to their regular rotation playlist...
