I'm so upset that I could possibly miss this tour and she's performing two of my all-time favorite Lana songs (Off to the Races and Serial Killer).
Her voice must've improved quite a bit if she's closing every show with Off to the Races.

Apparently she also did "Shades of Cool" and another new song which makes for her longest set for like what, ever? I really could do without the Cohen cover + here's hoping she drops #BKNYbb by the time she makes it to West Palm!

Just because she "announced" that the album is dropping in September doesn't mean that it actually will. Didn't she claim early last year that Ultraviolence would be out on May 1st or something like that? We all know that didn't happen, so I'm not going to take her word as gospel this time.

UV came the next month. June. In the early interviews she said August, now September. We are definitely gettin an album this year.

Effortlessly succeeding where Lady Gaga has failed over and over (and then some) post-Telephone. Stunning, symbolic (in a good way), fearless, unforgiving, powerful, tragic, etc.

What a mess that show was. Unless you camped out for hours like my friend and her friend did, Black Keys completely drowned her out. I need to see her in an intimate setting but I liked what I heard.

OMG, I am in so much pain from the tribulations of today. I started pushing through 2 sets before and wound up like 4 people from the fence right in the center. I was just a bit off from being able to touch her when she came down to the fence twice, but there's always next time.
Just as her albums sell without any promo from her, acknowledgment is not necessary for people to go crazy. She didn't really speak that much aside from before the last song or two, and No 2 Chelsea Hotel, but people kept pushing forward and going nuts the whole time. She's as mesmerizing as ever on stage and despite the problems with sound at the beginning, she's continued to hone her singing. The benefit of being up close was that everyone else around also went mad when she dropped Serial Killer. And I finally got to see her do Off The Races after she cut it from her sets before I saw her last time.

I wish I had the patience and youth to put myself into the middle of the chaos during festivals. There's also the matter of wanting to see a lot of bands and not having the devotion to one artist to sacrifice a whole day just to be close to the stage. Two of the girls in my group were hardcore Lana acolytes - they had the attire down to the dramatic makeup and flower wreaths - so they made sure to get as close as they could. But...they were also in their early 20s LOL. As festival veterans, my friend April and I just like to hang back and relax and soak in the atmosphere. As long as I can hear the artist I came to see, I am usually good. Once in a while (like for Weird Al or Bjork), I need to see what's going on but then I get jostled, beer spilled on me, and it starts to impede my enjoyment.
That said, I really enjoyed the second half of her set. Once people in the back of the crowd (including one of my friends) got frustrated by the epic soundbleed from Black Keys, they started leaving and I was able to get a bit closer to the speakers. Her mic was still turned down too low (to the point where people were asking if she was even singing LOL), but things improved considerably as it went on. I liked the fact that she was playing with the melody here and there and really emoting. You could tell she was really into what she was doing and has been working on her craft. I was disappointed that the Black Keys were the band to cause her to be drowned out, especially since Dan Auerbach produced her last record LOL. She even acknowledged it at one point, telling the crowd "I hope you can hear me because that stage is REALLY loud." That must be really frustrating as an artist, but it's par for the course at festivals, especially when the stages are placed just so. I hope to see her again one day in a different setting. Until then, I have Firefly to look forward to in a week and a half!

Cannot wait!!
It just hit me that her last video, Ultraviolence, was wedding-themed and now we're basically getting the sequel. Slowpoke I am.

Not feeling this. Not much has been impressive to me from her since her first album.
