Wot is Terrance I Love you tho? Sorry, dbhmr, I had to! Anyway, if not for the new Churches album, I would be stuck on this. As it is, I need to hear it at least once a day. On my bus ride from Boston back to NYC yesterday, I played it on loop 3x in a row as I fell in and out of consciousness. Cause you want morrrrrre....WHY?!

Who cares if Salvatore is meant to be taken "seriously"? Isn't that what everyone who got into BTD loved about her and that album in the first place? That clever balancing act of straddling the line between serious and ridiculous tongue in cheek nods. Salvatore is a melodically decadent track with vocals to match and lyrics with a coy self awareness. Yes please Ms. Del Rey, soft serve me all of that.

The "soft ice cream" line doesn't bother me in "Salvatore" at all, it totally fits the song imagery-wise and lyrically to me. In terms of her never having had a stupid moment song-wise, well, I disagree, haha. Do not even get me started on the lyrics to "Off To The Races." So f**king bad.

LOL. Off To The Races AND Lolita immediately come to mind. Despite her playing a character, those lyrics are a joke. The beats alone save them.

Off to the Races is quite possibly my favorite hot mess of a song ever. It's such a disaster, and dammit I adore it. Know those ridiculous lyrics by heart.

Oh...it's one of my top 5s from an album full of highlights so yes, I agree! Every time I walk past Cipriani's to and fro work, I think about that song.

When she attempts to sing Off to the Races live is when things get really "interesting", bless her heart.

Off To The Races is the song that started to really hook me into her and I still love it. She sang it fine too when I saw her in June. Far far better than when she first hit it big.

Great video but I'm mad that the garden setting was filtered to b&w. The flamboyant synthesis would fit perfectly to the song.

One of her better post BTD vids, though I'm still waiting for her to recapture a fraction of the greatness of that era's vids. Excluding Ride, her post BTD vids have been very dull on the whole.

"Kiss me on my open mouth" is probably the only misstep in 'Off to the Races', but that's at least forgivable because it makes sense in context. I can't decide whether the ice cream line is supposed to be contextual (...not as described by genius.com though, lord have mercy), metaphorical, or intentionally ridiculous, but by contrast that line is as nonsensical as it gets-- it just doesn't work at all. Maybe on another album, but not here.

Almost 140k :'( i hope it has legs. That is heartbreaking. UV's sales were incredibly strong given the relative lack of buzz during that era, so I hoped she had a dedicated enough core base for that to continue. But that's a nasty fall. Gold will be extremely hard now.

Nice at least that this is in the top ten of the year by user score on metacritic, and also the second most discussed album of the year on meta, after To Pimp a Butterfly.

I can't help but think if she had waited until 2016 to release this would be doing better. I honestly dont think she or the label cares about sales tbh, she's still a hot product regardless, and its obviously the album she wanted to make. For an artist like Lana, releasing an album every year is going to have diminshing sales returns but its whatever.

It is doing what it is doing because for some odd reason she does not promote one bit at all! Ultra violence followed her having a unexpected top 10 single so their was momentum from that etc....however, Honeymoon is following an era with decent sales but again zero promotion. I know she does not do top 40 material for radio play but she should be giving interviews and doing tv performances etc. Im actually astonished she sells what she does!

11/14 Billboard 200:
HONEYMOON - Lana Del Rey ( 150,000 ) = pure album sales

So "Blackest Day" has become my favorite Lana song ever. I would love her to spend every dime of her budget for this album on a killer video for it. It's just such an incredible, perfect song. She is an extraordinary artist, and I think she's coming out of the shadow of her blog hate/SNL performance enough for people to start to get it. She does need some kind of (positive) pop culture moment (in lieu of a hit, which is doubtful) to keep her top-of-mind enough for this idea to resonate.

Im with you on Blackest Day....I love it so much as well!! Lana is the strangest pop persona in ages....she can sell albums so well for someone who is never talked about and never lifts a finger to promote!

I doubt she even cares to have her 'pop culture' moment. She's just not that kind of artist/celebrity and that's why we love her. She just makes fantastic, unique music, serves A+ visuals and lets that do all the damage as far as sales/impact goes. If we get another video, I need it to be Terrence Loves You all with Gravity (the movie)-esque cinematography and lost astronauts in space while she mourns down here on Earth a la Liv Tyler in Armageddon.

"Honeymoon" remains my favorite song of 2015. It's just so cinematic. I know that's kind of Lana's thing, but I think "Honeymoon" captures that better than any song she's released to date.
