PURGED/RECURRENT ON SUNDAY (No Longer Eligible): Ed Sheeran - Don't Jeremih - Don't Tell 'Em (ft. YG) Jessie J, Ariana Grande & Nicki Minaj - Bang Bang Tove Lo - Habits (Stay High)
CHART NOTES: 6 voters this week and no carryovers. It's a quiet start to the year as point levels drop off; and the low threshold makes it easier for a new #1 to ring in the new year. That honour goes to Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars who bring a touch of 'Funk' to the summit. They have a hard edge on Ariana & The Weeknd, who sneak back up to #2. Ari landed four titles in last year's top 10. Mr Probz makes some waves this week as he returns to the top 3, and he's not the only one to jump back into the upper reaches as Sam Smith follows close behind. Selena Gomez wasn't quite wanted enough to hold on to where she was, remaining in the top 5 only due to winning a five-way tiebreaker. The top 3 reached 10+ points, down one from last week.
The lowest charters this week have 3 points, with four songs out of a five-way tiebreaker charting. There's some minor changeover to start off the year, with two debuts and one re-entry. Ed Sheeran doesn't have much to think about, easily becoming the top debut as part of the five-way tiebreaker; he is currently charting on Mediabase, and other debut Nick Jonas is not. There was a small rip which allowed Vance Joy to be carried back in from the tide to re-surface in the bookend position. He last charted in September for 2 weeks, where he reached top 5 before disappearing.
#1's of 2015: 01/07/2015 MARK RONSON Uptown Funk (ft. Bruno Mars)
VOTING RULES - Anything currently in the Mediabase top 50 is eligible for voting - Anything with a confirmed CHR/POP adds date is eligible for voting - Anything listed under 'Cool New Music' on AllAccess is eligible for voting - Songs without proof of substantial pop airplay and/or service to the format will be allowed at my discretion

CHART NOTES: 2 voters this week and 4 carryovers; an even quieter second week as the year kicks off. Nothing was gonna funk it up for Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars, as they spend a second week atop the chart. Positions #2 through #4 are also non-movers; the only change in the top 5 this week is Nick Jonas returning to the top 5 with 'Jealous'. The top 2 reached 10+ points, down one from last week.
The lowest charters this week have 3 points, with two songs of a three-way tiebreaker charting. Very minimal changeover this week, with only one song out to make room for one re-entry. James Newton Howard and Jennifer Lawrence only hung around for a single week in the top 15 at the end of last year, but they've strung themselves up for a new top 10 peak upon re-entry.

DROPPERS: 14 -- 016 CALVIN HARRIS Blame (ft. John Newman)
PURGED/RECURRENT ON SUNDAY (No Longer Eligible): Charli XCX - Break The Rules Chris Brown - New Flame (ft. Usher & Rick Ross) Jason Derulo - Trumpets Mr Probz - Waves
CHART NOTES: 2 voters this week and 1 carryover; the quietest week we've seen in a year. With the points threshold so low, Nick Jonas is able to return to the top with a very slight edge. His return pushes 'Uptown' down south slightly; Mark and Bruno are only one position to #2. Selena returns to the top 3, and there is a newcomer hanging around in the top 5 - James Newton Howard and Jennifer Lawrence have taken root with 'The Hanging Tree' at #4. One Direction return to the top 5. The top 5 each have 5+ points but due to the minimal number of votes counted nobody reached 10 points.
The lowest charters this week have zero points; they remain on the chart based on their positions last week. Minimal changeover once again, with one song out and one debut. It's a tiny spark, that probably won't amount to much even as the song is DOA on radio, but Gwen Stefani is able to spend a week in the top 15 with 'Spark The Fire'.
#1's of 2015: 01/07/2015 MARK RONSON Uptown Funk (ft. Bruno Mars) 01/14/2015 MARK RONSON Uptown Funk (ft. Bruno Mars) 01/21/2015 NICK JONAS Jealous

PURGED/RECURRENT ON SUNDAY (No Longer Eligible): David Guetta - Dangerous (ft. Sam Martin) Eden XO - Too Cool To Dance Nico & Vinz - In Your Arms
CHART NOTES: 4 voters this week and 0 carryovers; a slight upturn over last week. Tove Lo gives us something to talk about, as she body slams her way back into the chart right at the top. Mark & Bruno almost keep up with her, but remain steady at #2. On the debut front, Prince Royce is sticking it to everyone and it must feel good to crack top 3 on entry - but with the low point threshold it wasn't hard. Fifth Harmony hammer home a top 5 position of their own, climbing to #4, and there is no change for the stationary One Direction at #5. Tove Lo cracked 10 points this week.
The lowest charters this week have 1 point; fifteen songs received votes this week, thus all have charted. There's been a sizable changeover this week, with four debuts and one re-entry. Prince Royce makes top 3, as previously noted, while it's all systems 'go' for Gorgon City and Jennifer Hudson, starting off in the top 10. Jessie J's as-yet little appreciated 'Masterpiece' quietly displays in the top 15, while a drop of love was all Ellie Goulding needed to make the bookend position. Tove Lo, as also previously noted, is the week's re-entry.
#1's of 2015: 01/07/2015 MARK RONSON Uptown Funk (ft. Bruno Mars) 01/14/2015 MARK RONSON Uptown Funk (ft. Bruno Mars) 01/21/2015 NICK JONAS Jealous 01/28/2015 TOVE LO Talking Body

PURGED/RECURRENT ON SUNDAY (No Longer Eligible): Calvin Harris - Blame (ft. John Newman) Milky Chance - Stolen Dance
CHART NOTES: 3 voters this week and 2 carryovers. It's an upturn for 'Funk' this week, with Mark & Bruno returning to #1 with an increase in points. Tove Lo has still body-slammed the competition this week though, holding steady on points and dropping only one position to #2. The rest of the top 5 are all non-movers. The top 2 reached 10+ points this week.
The lowest charters this week have 2 points, with both songs of a two-way tiebreaker charting. There was a lot of changeover this week, with over a third of the chart clearing out. In their place come four debuts and two re-entries. It's pretty sweet for Maroon 5, with the top debut this week in the top 10. Walk The Moon are right behind them looking to make them shut up; but Maroon 5 has the Mediabase advantage. Down in the top 15, 'Outside' has come in from the cold finally, with Calvin & Ellie stepping in at #14, and it's not quite a cannonball and a cry of 'Geronimo' for Sheppard, more like dipping their toes in the water as they step in at the bookend position. As for re-entries, there are no second thoughts for Ed Sheeran, re-entering the top 10 as top re-entry, while Lillywood & Robin Schulz are right behind him.
#1's of 2015: 01/07/2015 MARK RONSON Uptown Funk (ft. Bruno Mars) 01/14/2015 MARK RONSON Uptown Funk (ft. Bruno Mars) 01/21/2015 NICK JONAS Jealous 01/28/2015 TOVE LO Talking Body 02/04/2015 MARK RONSON Uptown Funk (ft. Bruno Mars)
