I like this song and I am glad it was released. That said I hope radio doesn't stall on this one forever or it could be forever before we hear new music from these guys.Or who know if this fails the label might decide they were not working and drop them. Again I hope that doesn't happen.

I like this song and I am glad it was released. That said I hope radio doesn't stall on this one forever or it could be forever before we hear new music from these guys.Or who know if this fails the label might decide they were not working and drop them. Again I hope that doesn't happen. Parmalee is already working on their new album per their facebook page and Stoney Creek has just gotten two songs into the top 3 with them, both of which spent well over 40 weeks on the chart. Granted the album has not sold too well but Stoney Creek will not be tossing them aside knowing that a fourth release from this album is anything but guaranteed, especially when its being released in Q1 when the new releases are plentiful. If it does become, even a moderate hit (top 20), I'd brace yourself for another +30 week chart run. I do agree with @daydrinker that it's an uphill battle releasing another single from this record. The first single from it was released to radio in the summer of 2012 and I don't need to tell anybody how remarkably long ago that was. Two marathon chart runs and that first single stalling out in the 30's will do that to your overall timeline but that's really the main reason why I think Parmalee should have waited a couple months before coming back with new material. Usually the label doesn't want to stay off the radio for that long as it might cost them momentum with radio and losing that flavor of the month mojo, though releasing another song to have stall before it gets to the top 30 (which is possible in my view) can also cost you momentum along with promotion money. Stoney Creek has proven before with Thompson Square and Randy Houser that they don't mind sending more than 3 songs from an album to radio. Obviously Randy's situation has worked out swimmingly while T2 had two bombs with "Testing The Water" and "I Can't Outrun You". I'm sure the label does know about the likelihood of going three straight big hits from Feels Like Carolina and this release might just simply be giving radio and fans a song to enjoy while they are finishing new material. If it fails, then so be it - they very well might have a well layed out plan for Parmalee's second album to hit a nerve with radio and allow for them to avoid a sophomore album slump. That all being said, I still wouldn't have bothered with another release and stayed quiet if I had too but Stoney Creek feels the reward vs. risk is worth the trouble. 40 first week adds on day that Keith/Eric and Kip also went for adds is at the very least encouraging though.

Got to see Parmalee for the first time on Thursday. The highlight of the show was when the power completely went out during "Already Callin' You Mine". The guys didn't skip a beat and, with no power, played the rest of the song acoustically (with a big assist from the crowd). It was definitely was one of those "gives you chills" moments.

The deejay on WYRK just introduced this song as "Already Callin' Your Name". Lol I remember some syndicated show on WATZ - I think it was New Music Nashville with Bob Guerra, or maybe Country's Cutting Edge with Ramblin' Ray Stevens - where the host was always bungling titles. I remember him calling Dwight Yoakam's "Intentional Heartache" " International Heartache" more than once. I also remember he never had any more insight on songs than "Man I love that song", which he said about five times a show on average. As for this song, I just heard it on CT40. It feels a lot "tighter" than their previous releases. I don't know if the band members are actually playing on this song or not, but it at least feels more like the product of an actual band than just Matt singing solo, which was my only major problem with their otherwise solid last two singles. Matt's voice sounds more assured and distinctive here, and the production is a lot less cluttered than NVE's production can get, so those elements alone probably help.

To me, they've just gotten better with each subsequent release. Musta was awful, Carolina was catchy as hell, Close Your Eyes was better lyrically and Already is just amazing. Hope to see more songs in this vein in their sophomore album

Wow, no posts in here since April.
I honestly cannot remember an album cycle that has lasted longer than Feels Like Carolina; I'm sure there's been some that have (Rainbow Man from Jeff Bates was a good example from 2003-2005) "Musta Had A Good Time" was released on July 9th, 2012. I know that single didn't get their album out but its still on the album and was the official first single. The album was released on December 10th, 2013. Just crazy to think how different my life has changed in the past three years, lol.
"Already Callin' You Mine" has been charting for 28 weeks and is at #28 on Billboard and was #24 on MB this week (#25 on the rolling chart). Its up 66 spins and 550k in audience so far this week and even though the sales have been pretty brutal, that hasn't stopped Stoney Creek's efforts to get this song as high as possible. I like to think that they'll let this one go once it hits the top 20 and we won't see another "Close You Eyes" situation, but who knows anymore.

This is a great song and I love Parmalee. I'm all for this getting as high as possible. Top 20 would be great. I want new music from them, but I want them to have as much success as possible.

I want new music from them, but I want them to have as much success as possible. I know they recorded at least some of the songs for their sophomore album last year, so I'm assuming they have recorded much of the album by now. I think once "Already Callin' You Mine" leaves the chart, there shouldn't be too much downtime until they give their lead single a release date. That all depends on what quarter of the year Stoney Creek is looking to release the single in, and other factors like the amount competition on the charts when they do. This label has tons of money to throw around though since their under the Broken Bow umbrella and they are fully committed to this group, so that's a big factor we've seen such long chart runs with the last three singles. This one is definitely my favorite of theirs thus far, but it's a shame that "Another Day Gone" won't see the light of day at radio.

So far, this is the only Parmalee song that I'm okay with listening to and apparently, these recent radio updates are like my evil twin brother who likes the opposite of what I like (metaphorically speaking ).

This is one of the least memorable songs I have ever heard. Or have I? What makes you say that? It's better than their previous three singles (imo)! I'm just saying that I don't hear anything particularly catchy and I don't think anyone will remember this two years from now (unless they're still pushing this album!). I didn't like the others either but for different reasons. I didn't like "Feels like Carolina" because I didn't like the stereotypes. She feels like Carolina but looks like California. What if she also looked like Carolina? Is that like saying she has a really nice personality? I didn't like "Close Your Eyes" because it came in the midst of a pack of bro that all had the chord progression 4-1-5-6m (the ones that were included in that mashup medley). I think it was "This is How We Roll" and "Chilling It", maybe something else too? There was another single? I guess what I'm saying is that based on what I've heard I don't think these guys have a long term future in the business. I may be wrong.

This one is ALSO 4-1-5-6m! Who woulda thunk it? It sounds a little too similar to Keith Urbans "Long Hot Summer" to me. Good song btw.

The lyrics of Carolina were saying the girl was as gorgeous as any girl in the world but is cool and downhome and sweet (which Theperception is that California girls aren't because they're so gorgeous).

Heard this on the radio for the first time and really enjoyed it. I think they've gotten progressively better with each single release thus far, and this one is probably the best (though "Close Your Eyes" is pretty good too and not far behind).
I also couldn't help but notice that this is basically the male version of Kelsea Ballerini's "Dibs." I thought it was interesting since I remember it being mentioned that the topic of "Dibs" would only work from the female perspective, but... clearly that isn't the case.

Is this one top 10 bound? Up to #19 on Billboard now and still steadily gaining. At 35 weeks old, you have to figure this one can last at least 5 more weeks, probably even 10 more. Stoney Creek has been known for some lengthy chart runs (like all of Parmalee's singles), so seems like a safe bet.

I think " Already Calling You Mine" is about nearing the end of the road. The gains have slowly progressed and now they are basically nonexistent. Too add to the complications for Parmalee is that Jana Kramer and Kelsea Ballerini are slowly closing in on the guys and I think the ladies will get them by the end of the month. At 40 weeks old right now I can't really see this one holding on much longer for a Top 10 peak. I think they are right now 5th in line for the Top 10 and well what stinks for Parmalee is that there is no clear weak link in front of them. So I do think Parmalee will be falling off the chart sooner than later.

Big & Rich didn't quite have the bottom fall out on them yet although they should any day if the past week of updates are any indication. I agree though, Parmalee's song has worn out its welcome. I know we're used to these marathon chart runs by now but seriously, songs that went for adds in January and February shouldn't still be chugging along in mid-November. This really is tiresome.

Parmalee gains are really slowing down and Jana Kramer is finally catching up to them and her songs really old too so the signs are showing Parmalee is near the end of the road. Just depends on how stupid stubborn the label is.

Stoney Creek is requesting max spins for "Already Callin' You Mine" from now through December 13th. They will gun for a top 10 finish as evidence by the 120 spins and 300k in audience gained today. Jana and Sam are standing in Parmalee's way though on MB, as this song currently sits at #13 with just one recurrent ("Smoke Break") next Sunday.
I really like this song (and still do) but man, I'm relieved the end is finally here because it's ridiculous this thing is still charting.

I really like this song (and still do) but man, I'm relieved the end is finally here because it's ridiculous this thing is still charting. Yeah, this is one of my favorites too, but its airplay peak is already way higher than it deserves. I mean, we've got songs that aren't even in the top 300 or 400 on iTunes and yet they're in the top 20 at country radio. As of this morning, Parmalee was #406 on iTunes...the sales have been atrocious for a song with this kind of airplay. Tim McGraw might be doing even worse (on a sales per spin basis)...he's slightly higher on iTunes (324), but he's a much bigger name than Parmalee and he's sitting just outside the top 5 at radio. Blake and Jason are selling very poorly (neither of them should be even close to #1), and then Brad's "Country Nation" is only at #452 on iTunes. Big & Rich was another one that didn't sell at all (thank goodness they're done now). Hopefully none of these low-selling songs will be able to survive the holidays. I love "Country Nation" and I love "Already Callin' You Mine", but if they're not connecting with the music-buying public, then I'd really rather not see them get pushed to top 10 peaks. They don't deserve it...plain and simple. I wouldn't be surprised to see Parmalee finish this week in the top 10 (on at least one chart), but it's nice to know that this week will be the last one for ACYM.

"Carolina" went for adds February 4, 2013 "Close Your Eyes" went for adds February 3, 2014 "Already Callin' You Mine" goes for adds February 2, 2015 At this rate, they'll be pretty darned close for a new single release on Feb. 1 to keep the pattern going.

I can't believe they've been releasing songs from this album since the summer of 2012...
"Already Callin' You Mine" gained another 123 spins and 500k in audience today, so the top 10 push is on. They've cleared Jana Kramer on MB, so that leaves just Sam Hunt to leap; that won't be easy though, considering "Break Up In A Small Town" gained 107 spins and 670k in audience itself, today.

Sorry for a double post but country radio can grow a backbone anytime it wants to. "Already Callin' You Mine" will most certainly be a top 10 single now as Parmalee gained 136 spins and 700k in audience today. This song has gained 380 spins in the past three days after gaining just 370 spins over the past three weeks. This song just easily swept right by "Break Up In A Small Town" and "I Got The Boy" like they weren't even there, and both of those singles are caving Parmalee's song head in with sales. This song would have so died in the high 30's, ten years ago.

This and Run Away With You get a top 10 finish and I Got The Boy still can't quite get to the top 10. Man it's infuriating.
