www.billboard.com/biz/articles/6429626/rae-sremmurd-aiming-for-top-10-debut-on-billboard-200 Rae Sremmurd Aiming for Top 10 Debut on Billboard 200By Keith Caulfield | January 07, 2015 10:21 PM EST After breaking through in 2014 with two top 10 hit singles on the Hot Rap Songs chart, hip-hop duo Rae Sremmurd has its sights set on the top 10 of the Billboard 200 albums chart. The act (brothers Khalif "Swae Lee" Brown and Aaquil "Slim Jimmy" Brown) released its debut album SremmLife on Jan. 6 through Eardruma/Interscope Records. Industry forecasters suggest the set may sell upwards of 45,000 to 50,000 copies in the week ending Jan. 11. The album features the hit singles "No Flex Zone" (which peaked at No. 8 on Hot Rap Songs) and the No. 2 smash "No Type." The act's latest Rap hit, "Throw Sum Mo," featuring Nicki Minaj & Young Thug, debuts at No. 19 on the chart dated Jan. 17. The top 10 of the new Billboard 200 chart will be revealed on Wednesday, Jan. 14. Rae Sremmurd could be the Billboard 200's highest debut, and only arrival in the top 10, as the year gets off to a traditionally slow start in terms of new releases. Taylor Swift's 1989 will likely remain in the No. 1 slot for a ninth nonconsecutive week. As the Billboard 200 reflects the overall consumption of albums (including track equivalent albums [TEA] and streaming equivalent albums [SEA]), one can't look only to pure album sales to determine the chart's final ranking. Still, album sales make up the bulk of the chart's units, thus providing a good indication of where an album will end up on the Billboard 200.

Why are they publishing this as an image - because they can't use CSS to make a two-column list?

Do they really think Megan Trainor will sell enough to be #1?
Pre-orders must be good.

Considering Taylor has yet to release Style as an official radio single, I think 1989 will be down 15-20%-ish, possibly 80-90k next week..... Anything North of that will get Trainor that #1 (Well, if AATB and LAM sold enough.... If Trainor debut at #1 in Top Album Sales chart but not #1 in Billboard 200, well, it will be the first time)

Her EP sales are minimal since it's no longer available digitally so I would say probably 24k of those 25k were SEA/TEA. I'd say as long as she can sell about 60k in pure albums (and based on pre-orders I dont think that will be difficult, and she may have even sold close to that many already), she'll have enough SEA/TEA units from streaming the album and people buying album tracks to hit 100 IMO.

This week will bring 1989 RTD sales above Frozen's... Next week will bring the album past 4 million, making it Swift's 5th album in a row to reach the milestone.

You're definitely right about the big TEA/SEA boost. She has two red-hot songs still in the market, and history shows we should expect some decent interest in a handful of tracks from the new album. However, note that Hits is forecasting a #1 debut on its equivalent of both Top Album Sales and the Billboard 200. I know Taylor's going to drop big next week, but I still can't see confidently making that forecast if you don't think "Title" is doing 100K+ in pure sales (since Swift herself will sell nearly that many copies of 1989 -- and also gets a huge TEA/SEA boost each week).

In 2 weeks: www.hitsdailydouble.com/news/rumormill.cgiBOY MEETS WORLD: Fall Out Boy has fired another instant-grat track, "Uma Thurman," to #1 at iTunes. It's the third cut from the band's American Beauty/American Psycho (DCD2/Island) to reach this summit; meanwhile, prior single "Centuries" ranks at #8 (it's also Top 15 on the Mediabase Pop radio chart). The album is now #2 in pre-order, trailing only Taylor Swift's juggernaut 1989. Current forecasts have the set, which streets next week, bowing with 150k+.

for Meghan next week. www.hitsdailydouble.com/news/rumormill.cgiEARNING HER TITLE: Meghan Trainor's Title (Epic), streeting this week, is headed for a #1 bow on next week's HITS Album Sales Chart and SPS (Sales Plus Streaming) Chart. The blowout success of first single "All About That Bass" and the huge development on follow-up "Lips Are Movin"—as well as Trainor's growing familiarity with audiences as an artist—have contributed to solid preorder numbers; current forecasts put her first-week sales in excess of 150k, with indicators suggesting further growth. Title is now #10 at iTunes. Fittingly, she'll grace the cover of this week's print edition. (1/12p)

Clearly a week that nobody cared about, but I always hate when the future HITS thread is started before the current week's numbers are revealed. That's why I'm bumping. Haha.
