There was a lot of early hype around this single obviously since it's a musical event with two of the bigger stars in the format, but in the long-run I don't expect this will be remembered as one of Keith Urban's bigger hits or get much recurrent airplay (sort of like "Highway Don't Care" and "We Were Us," which I really don't hear much anymore). I also think Tyler Farr's "A Guy Walks into a Bar" could quite easily push back ahead since Tyler Farr's song has had stronger digital sales all along and Farr's album is dropping at the end of next month. I don't see why the digital sales would play much of a factor here. Farr will have some momentum because of his upcoming album release, sure, but his song is a lead single. "Raise 'Em Up" is a 5th single from 2 artists who are much more well-known than Tyler Farr is. I think call-out will play much more of a factor here than sales will, along with the 'age' of the songs. Farr's song has definitely been gaining nicely over the last few weeks, but the fact remains that it's a 33-week-old song, and a few call-out surveys show that it has a higher burn rate than REU does (which makes sense because REU hasn't been at radio nearly as long). I don't think that means that Tyler can't still peak in the top 5 or even top 3 with his song, but I'm not convinced he can re-pass REU (in fact I think it's highly unlikely that he goes up ahead). The Mediabase Callout has the net positive scores between the 2 songs as almost identical, but Tyler Farr's song is top 10 in the "heavy burn" category, and that number is only likely to increase. REU has only 3.4% for its burn rate which isn't even in the top 30 in the "heavy burn" column. I do agree that REU probably won't be much of a popular recurrent/gold tune for Keith (like "Little Bit Of Everything", "For You", "Without You", "Put You In A Song", "I'm In", and, unfortunately, "Til Summer Comes Around"), but that's not surprising given Keith's extensive discography.

I have two radio stations I alternate between and I hear We Were Us a lot as well as For You. It sure would be great to hear Til Summer Comes Around...particularly right now since Summer is coming!
Wished I understood how some of these radio MDs or PDs figure out their playlist.
However, I will say my station is slacking on playing Keith a whole lot and it really irritates me. It's now more Luke Bryan, Jason Aldean, Blake Shelton....you know the younger "it" group right now. Out with the old and in with the new or younger! ;)

WATZ is playing this all the time. And their afternoon guy just quit, so that shift's automated. Yay?

I was actually told in January of 2013 that the long time mid-day host of WYRK (he held the position for like 20 years) was fired. I wasn't given a reason by my source but many listeners simply thought he decided to leave on his terms, including me. Loose cannon's usually got away with stuff in the 80's and 90's, not so much anymore. I've already heard this quite a bit on The Highway. Plus I still hear "Somewhere In My Car" an awful lot as well. I do agree that this will probably not be a long remembered hit down the road though.

Only one platinum single in Keith Urban's career and that is We Were Us, his duet with Miranda Lambert. Even his biggest crossover hit, You'll Think Of Me from 2005 (#1 country, #24 pop, and #2 adult contemporary) is gold. His biggest country hit, Somebody Like You from 2002 has attained gold status.

Personally not a fan of Keith Urban, he's a Pop singer to me and not my type of Country. I like Eric Church though and this is obviously not an Eric Church song.. IMHO.

As I said on the previous page, "Cop Car" is Platinum-certified. It's not listed on Wikipedia but if you go to the RIAA website and search Keith Urban ( here), you will see that "Cop Car" was certified Platinum way back in June 2014. Of course his older hits aren't certified beyond Gold--digital sales weren't very big until the last 5-7 years or so...10+ years ago, iTunes was in its infancy, and the vast majority of people bought albums still.

If so holy crap I didn't know he was fired, I thought he had just taken another job, speaking of sabre, do you know whatever happened to Josh Mule?

Lot of people weren't happy about it either. I was actually never a fan of him on the radio, but that's just my own personal preference. I don't know what happened with Josh. I can see some kind of termination but him leaving for personal reasons could also be a reason. I know many enjoyed him though.

I think that this song has an interesting writing style. There are a lot of details that tell a story, but they're set far enough apart IN the story that you can fill in some of the blanks on your own. Thought that was pretty neat.
I still think Eric kinda blends into the background on this, and probably could've stood to trade off or sing harmony at some points instead of just doing verse two and disappearing. Other than that, this has been an amazing album with exceptional single choices all around in my opinion.

Great video!
Nothing fancy, but it captures the tone and theme of my favorite song from the album. The black and white looks great and featuring Keith and Eric so prominently is a good idea to cement the duo nature of the song.
Charts have a lot of good music right now, but I hope this gets a lot of play around Mother's Day, and it deserves to make the top.

His singles always hit #1 there before they do here.. At least they get it.. lol You'd be hard pressed to find anyone else who's had as much success at country radio in the US than Keith, so I wouldn't really say he gets treated better in Canada lol Keith is one of the biggest radio acts on country radio.

It's a little easier to reach #1 in Canada as well as "Raise 'Em Up" sat at 1118 total spins in Canada (#1) this past week, while it sat at 6798 total spins in the US (#5) - both on MB.

Maybe not so much radio, but I just think he's a little bit underrated.
