I haven't listened to Moonshine in the Trunk so I can't comment on any of the songs beyond the singles thus far, but I know there had to have been better options than this one on the album for single #3. I just can't get into this song and judging by its lackluster sales, I'm not the only one. This song isn't "bad" but it's just kinda "there." I do like the double entendre in the song's title and think it's fairly clever, but overall the song just kind of falls flat for me. I liked "River Bank" a lot and I loved "Perfect Storm," and I'm glad those two did pretty well for Brad, but this one doesn't look to be doing much for him. I actually thought this one would be third and I do enjoy the song myself but I respect those who don't. "Country Nation" and "High Life" (f/Carrie Underwood) would be the two other options they had for singles and still do. "High Life" could work any time of year but I would think they'd want "Country Nation" out in the late summer/early fall for the college football season. "Limes" is another track I can see being a single.

I liked "River Bank" a lot and I loved "Perfect Storm," and I'm glad those two did pretty well for Brad, but this one doesn't look to be doing much for him. To me, it's just an upbeat high-tempo rocker with some clever moments and great instrumentation. I think it's really the instruments that make me like it so much. Subtle use of fiddle and steel along with great guitar riffs. The drums are a little overproduced for my taste, but it's just a really "happy" song. It's a pretty solid album (speaking with bias, I love it). There isn't much radio material on it as I don't think Brad has a style that fits right now. He's very bright, bouncy, and kind of hillbilly without being redneck. I love Brad, so these aren't knocks. "Country Nation" should be next, and then I say they move on. "Shattered Glass" is a great song but may be too similar to "Perfect Storm" to see radio. Like I said, not much for radio on here though the next closest would be "Limes" although that one is similar to "Crushin' It" in style. I see "High Life" being way too goofy and bumpkin sounding for radio. "4WP" is one of my faves, but it pokes severe fun at bro-country (so much that it flew over the head of Trigger at Saving Country Music) with an old-time country sound. The title track is very solid too.

I love the video! Non-country fans may not get the humor of Brad Paisley, but the video is hilarious! It's even more 'star-studded' than that other soon-to-be-released well-hyped music video by a former country star! (I'm excited about that too, though) :)

What a great music video. The Florida Georgia Line part was hilarious, not going to lie. I'm a huge Marvel fan so that definitely helped me like it even more.

Ah there's the old Brad I used to love so much! Great video, kinda wish there was more artists featured even!
Not having Dolly Parton in there is a shame, and Little Jimmy Dickens would've made a great cameo (ant-man?), but Brad was close to him and I'm sure it was too soon.

Can we just rally for this to win Video of the Year at all of the awards shows by default because he cartooned Florida Georgia Line into Beavis and Butthead?
Hilarious video.

That was the biggest laugh I've had in a long time. By far the video of the year thus far.

Wow, what a fantastic video. Creative, different, and very humorous. Hopefully the video will help the song pick up a bit to at least go top 10!

That video was perfect. It was so goofy and so Brad. He's been talking about this video for a while now on Twitter and it did not disappoint.

Not much else to say, other than that that is one awesomely hilarious video. Derx Skydrinker getting drunk on a plane really cracked me up. And of course FGL as Beavis and Butthead

I'm thinking he ran it by them beforehand. Even if he didn't, he still showed them toward the end of the video...they were driving around in a jeep and crushing beer cans, doing their part to aid the superheroes, haha. And if for some reason FGL or someone in their camp is mad, well, too bad

I didn't really know what to expect when I heard Carrie was curious to see her "super hero." It turned out great and had me laughing the whole way through. THIS HAS TO win some Video of the Year awards at the later award shows in the year.

:kii: That was incredibly awesome, to sound like my son. Mr. Paisley has quite the talent. And as silly as the song is-I like it. Good summer song. Sometimes I think too many videos are made so they throw one together without much thought. Not this one. It reminds me a little bit of Joe Nichol's "Yeah" video-but ten times as cute/funny.

I just think there could be some in their camp that would be offended by the joke (or not even get it). FGL, though, they probably love it.

I think he did ask, or at least let the artists he parodied know about it. Blake and Carrie were two that I saw tweet about it a while ago. Like with the CMA Awards monologue, though, he likely didn't choose anyone he knew couldn't take a joke, so I doubt anyone is offended. (Although I don't really care if FGL is offended, because parodying them as Beavis and Butthead is just too priceless.)

While that cartoon may have succeeded in making Brad Paisley chuckle, it has done very little for the song commercially. There was no spike in sales or airplay after the video's release at all. I'm quite convinced that this isn't going to last much longer. Brantley Gilbert's already pushed ahead on the Mediabase building airplay chart, and it appears Jason Aldean and even Frankie Ballard could close in on Brad by the end of the week. I'm also convinced Luke Bryan will catch Brad before a top 10 spot opens up for "Crushin' It" and by then this will be well over 20 weeks old. The best I see for this is a #11 peak, which I don't think any B-list artist could have achieved with a song this mediocre/forgettable. Just not a good single choice at all. Hopefully, Brad will redeem himself after this with "High Life."

There will be a couple of openings for a Top10 this week as Tyler is out and I think Tim will dip below I think LBT and Canaan gets it Brantley is up next for a Top 10 after that is Jason and then Luke. If Brad can hold on for a little while longer he's getting close to sneaking in the Top 10.

That's a perception others have for other songs and it's one I never quite understood.

If Brad can hold on for a little while longer he's getting close to sneaking in the Top 10. @daydrinker was referencing the MB building chart in regards to threats to "Crushin' It". Brad had an ugly update today, losing 435k in audience, which puts his lost audience at 143k since Sunday; while Jason's gained 220k, Frankie's gained 646k, and Brantley has increased 1.7 million (though Westwood One has been helping, though it still helps on MB's chart). I think a top 10 peak is still possible but Brad's song is certainly struggling, there's no question. "Young & Crazy" is barely ahead in single sales, which I didn't think would happen at this point in both these songs chart runs. Heck, Jana Kramer's song is ahead on the iTunes chart as I type this and her song is currently at #50 on MB's rolling chart and #43 on Billboard. To me there will likely be one more song from Moonshine In The Trunk and I think it will be "Country Nation". Though "High Life" is a possibility as well.

^Thank you.
I think Brad can wait out a Top 10 peak but he needs to be in it for the long haul.

I disagree. Since the video, sales increased a tad and airplay did too. Trust me, I've been watching close.
In regards to today's update...Kenny saw a much worse day than he has in a bit and Carrie saw almost as bad an update as Brad. Did Sony have a 4 day weekend...?

I agree that music videos don't do a whole lot to directly increase sales for country songs the way they do in the pop genre where music videos get hundreds of millions of views globally while some of the biggest country singles top out at maybe 10-20 million views. That said, they definitely help raise visibility for a song just as garnering more and more airplay at country radio also increases sales. And a spike in streaming points affects positioning on the Hot 100 and the new HCS chart, which are also benefits.
I'm not particularly fond of this song, so I wouldn't mind seeing it go away anytime and be replaced with a better Brad Paisley tune. Maybe they can squeak out a Top 10 peak for this yet, but I do hope that once they manage to do that (if they can), they let "Crushin' It" go and be satisfied with a Top 10 peak.
