Go off, Ms. Harris! It doesn't sound like a strong radio hit but F a hit; they can relegate this to buzz single status down the line but I'm here for this sensitive read and vulnerable drag. She learned the hard way about trying to turn a ho into a husband but damn if we won't get some good music out of these lessons learned.

After multiple listens, I don't see this being negated to a buzz single. We will see though. Top 10 urban would be nice for me, and if they took Theron off the adlibs they could push it to urban ac.

This is a builder meaning listen after listen its the type of the song that will keep getting better. I really adore this so far, something about it sounds so simple and refreshing. She could have went many different directions but at this point she needs not worry about what is the best single just put out what she feels is best material. I could see this working well with the urban female and she needs to get them back!
Raw, direct and honest can't go wrong with that, hopefully it resonates with the girls then you come back and hit em with the uptempo and shut it all down CICI :'( #justice4Cici
"“YOU KNOW THAT IT HURTS YOUR PRIDE / BUT YOU THOUGHT THE GRASS WAS GREENER ON THE OTHER SIDE.” "You actin’ like you upgraded me, I upgraded you" "“Is that your bitch over there givin’ me the ugly stare / The one with the silicone ass and the Brazilian hair,”
GO AWF BITCH and at the shade of going to the corner store and finding a new "Future" sound alike doing background work. Bitch been replaced.

This is cute. Not a strong single, but it's a nice track.

I remember the days when the thought of Ciara releasing a good ballad was laughable. ...now her slow jams end up being her better songs. As already pointed out...this song sounds exactly like the B.Cox/Jermaine Dupri ballads that were on fire 10+ years ago. It reminds me more of Tamia's "Still" than anything else. This is a good shade fest. She's singing the verses in that annoying off-beat flow that Future does, and she has a fake Future ad-libbing in the background! I love a good autobiographical sob story tune. My biggest issue is that god awful "silicone ass Brazilian hair" line. It's really cringe-worthy. I wasn't here for this song on first listen, because the verses and the hook + bridge were definitely not written by the same person, but it's cute once you get her "point." I like it. I could see it going top 20 just because she re-established interest in herself with the last project, and there are really no major female R&B acts out releasing ballads.

Hashtag Pow, agreed on the Brazilian line , reminds me of "log off that Facebook" line from Brandy on "It All Belongs To Me".

I like it, but it sounds like a good album track. I'm waiting for the "real first single".

Yeah, I agree that this definitely sounds like the B.Cox ballads that were huge a decade ago. For some reason, I wanna sing "Trippin'" by Toni Braxton over this ("we say thangs that we don't mang"). But I loved those songs, so I'm not mad.
I like this, but I'm not so sure about it being a first single.

Finally listened! I'm on the same page as many of you. It's an enjoyable listen but it's not an event single or a smash hit. I get the 8701 comparisons, but it actually brought me back even further. It almost sounds like it could be from Changing Faces' sophomore set from 1998. And that's exactly why, despite its quality, I have trouble envisioning this put on high rotation in between Rae Sremmurd and Dej Loaf.
Anticipating some remixes now!

I like this. Not as much as "Ride" or "Body Party" but it's cute for the throwback. It's weird to think if this hits, Ciara will probably have the most traditional R&B midtempo/ballad on the Urban chart. Tamar has managed to get a moderate hit there with a midtempo that sounds like it's 10 years old too, but at this point this sounds more like 2015 Urban AC than 2015 Urban.

I can't at her coming for her baby daddy. I love the single though and I agree with everyone who said it's very Early 00's B. Cox/Jermaine Dupri sounding.

In the same tradition as "Sorry" but better. I think she's amassed enough goodwill with "Body Party" to have radio's support with this one and for Ciara not to draw the ire of Black Twitter for being anyone not named Beyonce. A smudge of "True Love" by Faith....just a really solid record from Ci Yes. For some reason, I wanna sing "Trippin'" by Toni Braxton over this ("we say thangs that we don't mang"). And yes.

I like it a lot, it feels like it's from 8701 in a great way. But...this is not a single....at all. This is clearly an attempt to get some spins from the confessional aspect of it but it is destined to flop. This. As much as I LOVE Ciara, it seems as if she can never get it right when it comes to lead singles. This is bound to end up being another "buzz" single. She got it right with BODY PARTY...or was that not a lead single?

She got it right with BODY PARTY...or was that not a lead single? She released several tracks as the lead single before "Body Party." "Sorry," "Got Me Good," and "Sweat" were released and all ended up getting scrapped.

I like Ciara, wouldn't consider myself a blown out fan and I've always thought Body Party was the lead single.

Love it, think its suits radio better than Sorry, which went top 20! Any improvement over that is good imo.

The more I listen the more GORGEOUS this song gets. More than hits Cici needs songs that connects with the public again and sometimes those songs aren't the typical song. We all know she will have 2 or 3 other songs before the album drops. Just glad she kicked of the lead to the lead to the lead with a really strong song that has some feeling to it than just another party anthem.

She has almost 500K for her vevo views in a little over 24hrs. Can she debuted on r&b next week just from the charting week window?

The song structure of this almost reminds me of It's Not Right But It's Okay somehow. Probably just because they're both about ain't shit cheaters but something about the verses have some 1999 Nippyness to them.
I don't understand how Future is so dumb to use a restaurant as his BM's code name when he had a veritable reason to excuse calling her all the time (a child.)
