+107 bullet at Urban Top 5 at "Taking Off" Urban 1.5 million views at YouTube
The more I listen the more I hear Pop potential. It's weird how big the chorus sounds to me now vs the first time I heard it.

I've only listened twice, and the second time the song sounded SOOOO much better.

I will say that overtime, as much shade as we ALL threw (I see you SHOOTER ) at her for Promise in the beginning, her mid-tempos have become my favorite selections from her.

If you look at blogs, the initial promise reception aol tag and all was absolutely TERRIBLE... I'm glad they stuck with it though and allowed it to become what it is today. I need usher on a remix.her and mark Pitts still besties he can get it done.

The Ciara story is so incomplete and random in her fall part of me feels she is one song away from recapturing the hearts of the mainstream audience again. One of the few women who have done well on urban that actually have the ability to crossover.
This ain't that song but i love it.

Can a black artist have a cohesive sounding album in this day and age and still have major urban and top 40 success.... Nicki Usher NeYo Chris....right now everyone is going through it

Usher, Nicki, Neyo were appealing to the pop crowd way tooooooo much with rather jarring pop/dance records. I think Ciara and Chris Brown (if he wan't such a douche) do mainstream crossover in a more organic way like Usher use to be. Plus she has the sex appeal, the lite skin and dance ability that pop crowd have affinity for . Very hard but can be done just rare she would have to use the media to her advantage lol bitch get on TMZ, start a feud with Megan and start kissing on random women or men, get that POP #1

Anyway, this is why we NEED Rihanna back stat.

I'm loving the reception. I think that a "Love Sex Magic" would be better release for Pop. It's not the same anymore when it was easy for "Goodies" and "1,2 Step" to get Pop love.

I'd rather have a Top 20 hit and sell 100k than a #1 Pop hit with 30k.
Ciara can easily worry about Pop success after the album is OUT. And I don't want pure pop dance tracks... Give us Urban crossover smashes.

Nobody wants pop dance tracks from her.
I like however r&b songs that geared to be crossover more than i enjoy r&b songs nowadays that are geared for urban radio. Over the ratchetness and limited material on urban radio.

Sounds like another buzz single. It's cute though. Oh, and one would only have to look back to 2012's Unapologetic to find a cohesive album with Urban and Pop and HAC/AC crossover ability.

Since were on Rihanna, Unaplogetic was bland and weak. That's not a good example.

I've never seen a song do well from being surpressed to iTunes. Not so much in the r&b world but for digital sellers it has worked

There's nothing wrong with them waiting till it goes for adds to send it to iTunes. It would (hopefully) have a front page ad all that week while stations begin to really spin it.
It's getting a lot of early support from radio so it's not a bad idea.

Could work if the video and iTunes release was simultaneously but they aren't going to do that.

I love "Unapologetic", but "cohesive" is not a word I'd use to describe it, or even with crossover appeal. TTT had way more crossover appeal, but that's off-topic
Anyway, I like this song and I'm glad she's back :) Official single or not, it's a cute track and the chorus is my favourite part; I enjoy the laidback, smooth production. I need Ci to give me a banger, though. "Got Me Good" is still a jam.
