Lmao this just debuted at #90 on the Hot 100. Who's buying this? I mean, it's pretty doubtful that T-Swizzle fans want to hear a metalcore take on their song, and while maybe some metalcore fans may enjoy this, are there really THAT many of them? also, I'm not too big on this, sounds a bit generic and by the numbers

I'm presuming this is the first single from their upcoming tribute album to Taylor Swift and nu metal, 1999.

#90 on the Billboard Hot 100 doesn't surprise me at the least. "Shut Up + Dance" in the Hot 100 almost gave me a heartattack.

hahaa, i was expecting something a lot worse. This is pretty decent, I guess, but since Blank Space was one of my favorite pop songs of last year, then I can be a bit biased. But what would this mean, will this get some active rock airplay now, or will the bigger active rock artists try to get some kind of pop cover crossover success as well?

This is very generic, but I liked it decently enough. I don't know the Taylor Swift song, so I can't relate to how well of a cover it was or not in comparison.

89X added this song very early in this year, maybe even last year, and maybe before the original song even blew up. Because 89X would. They still have the song in light rotation, and have added a follow-up single called "Love, Lust, and Liars". Because 89X would.
I never actually heard the song on the radio until this past weekend. I was about 90% certain it was going to be a metal cover, but not completely certain (because I figure if it was a cover, that's a song you play for about 4-6 weeks tops, and dump forever, so it could have been just a random Can-Con or local group with a song title coincidentally shared with a popular national hit), and I didn't want the beast that is The Internet to know that the user of my computer is interested in a song like this, which would have happened if I'd searched for it on the Youtube or Google. And on Sunday Night my local station played this during a specialty program focused around local acts and bands that are touring my area because they were an opening act for Alien Ant Farm (but I can't possibly think of ANY similarities these two bands have with one another!!!)
So, obviously I prefer this to the original, but basically it's just a group of guys putting on their best Papa Roach suits and channeling their inner Pseudo Echo. (Pseudo Echo had the #99 US hit of the year in 1987 with their cover of "Funky Town". How bad of a year could 1987 have possibly been if that could happen?)

this song bites, but the Pseudo Echo one you mention gets a thumbs up as does the original.

I didn't want to make this all about Pseudo Echo (I do now, though!), but, to my amazement, they got back together and released a new album last year, and a live album coming out in less than a month. Let's remember this and see where I Prevail is in 2034.
