www.hitsdailydouble.com/news/newsPage.cgi?news10261m01The boys are back in town. DCD2/Island’s Fall Out Boy are now gearing up for the release of the sixth studio album, American Beauty/American Psycho, ready to drop 1/20. Digital pre-orders have been brisk and could finish around 100k, which would put the record on track to sell somewhere between 175-200k. Such numbers virtually guarantee them the #1 spot on the HITS Building Album Sales Chart. (I know it's way early for this thread, but we have sales estimates. Let's revisit it next week when the album goes on sale.)

I'm kind of surprised at how long they've lasted.

That's crazy considering Save Rock and Roll had the better 1st single and opened up with 154K. In the grand scheme of things their return on that album helped them get to those sales.

Two 150k+ openings in January plus Taylor Swift? 2015 is off to a good start!

^And Imagine Dragons next month! They should do 200k+.
Kid Rock should do 150k.
Then in March: Kelly Clarkson and Madonna. Both should do over 150k. Probably 175k..

Where's the list of the biggest single-week sales of 2014 because from the looks of it, 2015 is set to beat the total number of titles and weeks by Q2.

How much Imagine Dragons first album did open with? I know it's like 2+ million now, but the debut?

ATTA BOY: Based on early, early reads, Fall Out Boy’s American Beauty/American Psycho (DCD2/Island) could come close to or exceed 200k in album sales in its chart bow next week. This will be the band’s best opening since 2007, when Infinity On High debuted at #1 with 260k. American is currently #1 at iTunes, while single “Centuries” is #8. (1/20a)

YOUR NEW RELEASES: Fall Out Boy will take over the #1 spot next week as a number of other debuts are eyeing the Top 10. Here are this week’s key debuts, with forecasts for both our Album Sales and SPS (Sales Plus Streaming) charts. Fall Out Boy (DCD2/Island) 190-200k sales, 220-230k SPS Joey Bada$$ (Cinematic) 50-55k sales, 55-60k SPS Marilyn Manson (Loma Vista/Concord) 40-45k sales, 45-50k SPS The Decemberists (Capitol) 40-45k sales, 45-50k SPS 2015 Grammy Nominees (RCA) 40-45k sales, 40-45k SPS Lupe Fiasco (Atlantic) 30-35k sales, 35-40k SPS Björk (One Little Indian) 15-20k sales, 18-21k SPS This data should pair beautifully with our latest roundup of iTunes action below, or a perky little Vinho Verde. Pretty disappointed with Lupe's numbers. Food & Liquor II opened with 90k in 2012. He's had issues with this release though

Lupe is ready to be off of Atlantic. They did him dirty for so long. None of his singles from this album have taken off.

www.billboard.com/articles/columns/chart-beat/6443883/fall-out-boy-american-beauty-psycho-number-oneFall Out Boy Bound for Third No. 1 Album on Billboard 200By Keith Caulfield | January 21, 2015 7:33 PM EST Fall Out Boy is flying toward its third No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 with American Beauty/American Psycho. Industry sources suggest the set will arrive with over 220,000 in equivalent album units in the week ending Jan. 25. The top 10 of the new Billboard 200 chart will be revealed on Wednesday, Jan. 28. Traditional album sales could comprise over 190,000 copies of the album's first-week units, which would tally the band's best frame week since 2007. That year, Infinity on High notched the act its first No. 1 album, bowing with 260,000 sold, according to Nielsen Music. The quartet visited the top of the chart again in 2013 with Save Rock and Roll, which started with 154,000. American Beauty/American Psycho could also tally the biggest sales week for a rock album since last November, when Foo Fighters' Sonic Highways drove in with 190,000. Other albums aiming for a high entry on the Billboard 200 next week include Joey Bada$$' B4.DA.$$, Marilyn Manson's The Pale Emperor and The Decemberists' What a Terrible World, What a Beautiful World.

Really sad for Lupe. I haven't even heard anything about him dropping an album. He needs to leave.
Excited to see whether or not Nicki sale's are solid for week 6. The album has done very well for a rap album so far!
