If Christina Aguilera had recorded "Work Bitch" instead of Britney, would it have been a bigger hit? Or would it have been about the same?

What if Britney had recorded Anal With A Man Pretty sure she they've both recorded such an act at one point or another. You just have to be a good internet detective to find it. Pretty sure they asked her before they asked Shakira, but Blake Shelton insisted on hiring a farm animal. Pretty sure they asked her to replace Xtina after filming started and things weren't looking so hot, but Christina already had the costume on and there was *no* way they were going to get it off of her and have it still be useable. In all honesty, and without the obvious trolling that just happened (which was deleted to "wth[2]"), I'm going to say no. I think Britney's more innocent persona helped make Work Bitch as fun as it was. Coming from Britney, for me, it feels more like a "join me" demand whereas if it came from Christina, I might perceive it more as her looking down on everyone and demanding them to work bitch. Coming from Britney, it's almost inspiring. From Christina it'd be almost insulting.

No. Britney is literally the only good part of that song, and if anyone else would've sang it, I don't think it would have the same charm.
Or basically what Max just said.
Also Xtina doesn't have the voice to do this kind of song.

I don't think she really has the vocal skills to convey the emotion of a song that so sharply ripostes our uber-materialistic brand of capitalism the way Britney could.

Some of these threads are a joke. It's also a joke to think that Britney has any sort of shot at a comeback. She captalized on the EDM craze a few years ago and got a couple of hits. But nothing noteworthy has come from her since "Circus." Radio tried pushing her to the top during "Femme Fatale" and it was clear the public wasn't that interested. Her album didn't sell well and the singles could've sold better too. I think that lukewarm reception paved the way for the "Britney Jean" mess. I just don't see her working at all on radio these days in any shape or form. Can she even pull off being a features queen? I don't see it. Dance music is on the way out.

My friend weirdly enough hadn't even heard "Work Bitch" before until I played it for her the other day.
She immediately said if this was almost anyone else this song would probably be so stupid.
However because it's Britney it's kind of funny and she liked it.
So No I think if XTina had recorded it, it would have flopped worse and probably do more damage to her reputation.

Work Bitch was one of the best pop songs of 2013 and nobody else on the planet could have pulled it off. It was Britney just like nobody else could have pulled off "Gimme More" and gave it that Britney touch. There are a few divas and none mentioned in this thread who's songs only sound good when they sing it. That is why they are legends and everyone else is trying to reach that.
I agree these comparisons are silly. Britney has already made a name for herself in stone its others who have to make a name for themselves, still.
