As if there was any doubt that this would be next. Wonderful song, probably his best since "You and Tequila". I think it'll be HUGE as well.

Pretty good choice, should do fairly well as a 3rd single. Hopefully they follow it up with Flora-Bama as the 4th single.

The sticker for the project featured "Til It's Gone" and "Wild Child" as "singles" lol. The label seems to really have a plan like that now (similarly "Crushin' It" was listed as a single on the sticker for Paisley's physical disc too).

I really like this song, honestly, I'd love to see a duets or a compilation album between Kenny Chesney and Grace Potter. I think their voices work so well together and I can't see how pairing the two up for an album wouldn't be successful.

Compared to what Kenny used to offer in his early years, this song's terrific and I am glad it was chosen for a release to radio. But when I listen to it, I don't hear anything exciting or surprising or especially alive in its lyrics, melody, or arrangement. It's not a step backward, but it's not a step forward either. And it doesn't make sufficient use of the singing skills of Potter. It's a waste of her appearance. It's like bringing in Alison Krauss as a featured artist and then giving her one line.
It'll be a top 3 hit. But a missed opportunity. I do not see what has been generating all the advance praise for Wild Child.

I agree a little more Grace would be nice. But still happy with this, which is no surprise for me since 'You and Tequila' is one of my favorite country songs.

I do not see what has been generating all the advance praise for Wild Child. I'm not enamored with this song; I do like it and I think it's a pretty good song, but a masterpiece it isn't. I think there was a good idea here but to me it doesn't seem like it was completely fleshed out. I think it's an above average song though, at least compared to a lot of the other songs that make it big on today's country radio. And since this is Kenny, this song has a pretty good chance of making it big. I think "American Kids" was a little bit stronger than this one is, though. The album is pretty good, but it didn't have an "El Cerrito Place" or "You And Tequila" on it. I think "Wild Child" was Kenny's bid at re-creating another magical song with Grace on background vocals (just like she was for ECP and YAT), but he set the bar pretty high with "You And Tequila" and "El Cerrito Place" and, as a result, this one falls just a little short.

I like this, but nowhere near as much as "You And Tequila". If he was going for the softer, more subdued single approach (like he's done a few times more recently), I would have rather seen "If This Bus Could Talk", but "Wild Child" is still good. I just don't see it hitting #1 like "American Kids" or "Til It's Gone", or having the same impact as "You And Tequila".

Is it frequent for musical pairings (those who are not really an act or do not have an album together) to score a smash the second time around? "You and Tequila" was a huge commercial and critically; will Kenny and Grace Potter be able to replicate that with "Wild Child"?
The closest that I could think of are Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton. But even they were unable to replicate the success of "Islands in the Stream".

I think "Wild Child" could repeat the same chart success, but I don't see it ending up with the same sales or being remembered as well years from now.

But even they were unable to replicate the success of "Islands in the Stream". Tim & Faith are the closest I can think of, but they never had a second collaboration as big as "It's Your Love". "Meanwhile Back At Mama's" would be the closest, followed by "Just To Hear You Say That You Love Me", "Like We Never Loved At All" and "I Need You". Faith wasn't credited on "Angry All The Time", which would probably be the closest to being as big a hit as "It's Your Love". Garth & Trisha charted four more collaborations after "In Another's Eyes", but the biggest, "Squeeze Me In", peaked at #16. I guess Conway Twitty & Loretta Lynn had 5 #1 hits together, but they were more considered a duo at that point (and they had a number of albums together, so they wouldn't count).

I think it'll do well for Kenny, I definitely don't like it as much as "You and Tequila" and I honestly think that if Grace wasn't featured on this song then it would be just a decent album cut, but kinda blah. It's not one that I'm ready to listen too over and over again.

I'm not a Chesney fan at all, but this is pretty great.
The laid back, mellow vibe is so refreshing, and Kenny sounds nice, too.

I'm a big fan of this one. I can't remember the last time Kenny's been 3 for 3 on singles for me in an era. Probably not since the The Road and the Radio era with "Who You'd Be Today", "Living In Fast Forward", and "Summertime". I hope this one does well for Kenny & Grace.

This is by far my favorite release from him since come over. I didn't like their last duet I know everyone else did but I didn't. I think this suits their style together more.

Very well done video. Excellent shot selection and beautiful scenery (it just had to include the beach, but I knew that going in I guess).

This is not selling very well. A couple songs near it aren't doing too great either (Easton and Tim) but he's being outsold by "Just Gettin' Started" and "Mean to Me" (two songs about to go recurrent), A Thousand Horses, Billy, and Eric Paslay. Shame. I thought this could be one of the few huge sellers of 2015.

It's odd that American kids sold as well as it did, and the next two singles have struggled this much, despite strong radio airplay. I know "American Kids" was a lead single, but it's just so odd that Kenny seamed really popular at the moment, but now appears to be back in the fading superstar category. On a side note, I have to admit that this album hasn't worn very well on me. For as much talk Kenny has made about scrapping a whole album to go back and record these songs, I would simply just expect better. None of these songs sound all too original, and even though I like them, "Til It's Gone" and "Wild Child" just sound like retreads of past hits. After this one peaks, it will be curious to see if they release another single, and if so which song it will be.

That would personally be my choice as well, but the only issue with that song is I see it doing best around Spring and Summer time, and this single likely won't peak until late May or early June. I could see them going with "Drink It Up", but I think that one has no chance of being a big seller.

Save It For A Rainy Day would be my personal choice for next single; it would work well in the summer and into fall. But Flora-Bama would be a great choice as well.

I don't think this is selling all that poorly--it's currently #94 on iTunes all-genre, which puts it ahead of a couple of top 10 songs, and isn't too far off of what Billy Currington and Tyler Farr are doing right now. I admit that I had hoped "Wild Child" would be a bigger seller, perhaps similar to "You And Tequila", but I see now how hard of a feat that would have been to match. Sales in general are down from what they were when "You And Tequila" was out.
I'm inclined to think that there will be a 4th single here, but then again, Kenny could opt to put in a little gap between albums, and he's also been known to keep new recordings under wraps pretty well. I remember when we first heard about "Pirate Flag", everybody (myself included) thought that there was no way he could have recorded an album, because no one had heard anything about it.

"Save It For A Rainy Day" would be my choice as well, though "Flora-Bama" and even "Beer Can Chicken" wouldn't be so bad. I'd love "If This Bus Could Talk", but after "Wild Child", I don't see it being a smart choice. I'd be surprised if there weren't a fourth single, but I guess his last album stopped at two, so anything's possible.

This was discounted to 69 cents on iTunes, causing the song to leap from the 100's to the 70's on the all-genre chart. Definitely looking like a future #1 airplay record. It's great to see Kenny Chesney receiving so much radio support this era after Life on a Rock left his career on a downward spiral.

It's great to see Kenny Chesney receiving so much radio support this era after Life on a Rock left his career on a downward spiral. I never got the sense that his career was in a downward spiral after Life On A Rock. There was definitely some uncertainty about his future at radio but nothing to be super concerned over. I wasn't that surprised at the performance of the two singles off Life On A Rock. "Pirate Flag" was just odd and never performed like a #1 single (which of course it fell short of) and "When I See This Bar" just didn't seem like a radio type single, at least to me anyways, and it just didn't have any buzz at all when it was out. This album though is definitely one that he and Columbia wanted to make a strong comeback at radio with and like you, I'm glad that he's doing well at radio again. Though I admit, some of that is probably perhaps much of my youth was filled with him being dominant, so it just brings back memories of years gone by.
